Where are all the decent men hiding?
Do you have a decent man?
Where did you find him?

I've got a nice single one here, aged 29. He's in the armed forces though, and he never seems to meet anyone.
There seems to be a lot of nice people of both sexes, single and finding it difficult to meet a partner. You'd think online dating sites would be the answer, everything else is done online, but there's a lot of weirdos out there.

Online dating sites aren’t actually interested in people meeting long term partners and and settling down, because then they’d leave the site. And the site would make less money. They are designed to to keep people coming back, looking for someone just a bit better…

Oh hello again, fancy seeing you here too.

The answer to your question would likely surprise you.

What a weird answer.

Mines lovely. I found him aged 18 so believe I got first pick. My mum did meet my step dad online aged 55 though. He’s a really wonderful man who I deeply admire, but she almost passed him over because he wasn’t her usual type looks-wise. He also wasn’t very sophisticated but he has a heart of gold.

My friend ( 60s ) met her partner at Scottish Dancing classes.
A friends daughter (20s) met her now husband on Plenty of Fish.
Several ladies 60/70s met their second spouses at my church.
Another (50s) met her now husband in the checkout queue of a well-known supermarket.
Another lady 80s met her now husband when she went to the Council Offices to pay her Community Charge. They got chatting in the queue.
Plenty of men out there !

My husband is very decent. We met in our early 30s via my sister and mutual friends.

I think meeting someone via your circle can ensure they have similar values and there’s an element of vetting there as well.

I genuinely think it can be hard after late 30s because decent men tend to settle a bit earlier and stay settled. That said there must always be a quota who genuinely met the wrong person, or were widowed.

I love the 'chance encounter' meetings! There is hope! ❤️

I met dp on okcupid (I'd redownloaded it one night when I was bored,I certainly wasn't looking for anyone,I just wanted to chat)

He'd tried the app after his workmate had met his wife on there

He'd been on a few dates but not a sniff of a chat for months

He was about to delete it when I popped up saying 'hiya' (his picture was of him hiding behind a friends dog-rip ziggy who we both adored and lost the same day as the world lost dolly parton)

We chatted for a month, met in rl and have been together almost 11 years

He's the one for me-other women turned him down because he's sensible and 'boring' (he's not he's just not a 'bad boy')

Hes the most respectful, funny and loving man I've ever met-a lot of women just friendzoned him (animals and kids worship him)

He's my rock, the one I want by my side when life goes tits up and my best friend

They are out there, but I had to sort a lot of wheat to find the chaff (I'd been on about 300 dates over the years when I finally met him)

Hello my little stalker!

You’re not going to ask me more questions about my childhood again are you?

Not exactly sure what is terrifying about my above post.

It's all very well saying "I met by partner online 50 years ago" or "Tinder was really good during the First World War". The apps have changed massively since Covid, even Bumble has dropped all of its unique selling points because women don't like messaging first.
