I dont feel like mine is...

We can have a whole road trip without barely saying a word to each other

I got baxk from my best friends dad's funeral and his only conversation was 'were there many people there'

Im just curious as to what's 'normal'

So where better to ask than here

DH and I have been together since 1992. I’ve never needed to “moan about him’ to my friends. Obviously we’ve had our rockier moments as a couple, but I find it utterly bizarre that anyone would think that regularly complaining about your spouse to other people was a normal aspect of married life or friendship. Do your friends not get bored?

Exactly.. it’s so strange. I have very close female friends who I laugh and share stuff with, very real relationships but DP is absolutely my best friend. If I needed to moan about him then he wouldn’t be for me. Of course your partner should be your best friend. What’s the point otherwise!?

Yes, my DH is 100% my best friend. Being married to my best friend is awesome.

DS asked DH why my best friend photo frame didn't have him in it. DH said cos we're not each others best friends. DS was confused (he's 11) but I confirmed the same thing when I got back.
I asked DH what I lacked compared to his best friend. DH has comic book knowledge 🤣. I said he lack the ability to micro analyse and discuss our emotions.

However, we'd absolutely talk in ops scenario. We share a taste in TV shows, we talk about books, random news, the kids. He's not my best friend but I like him and his company 😍

Yes. He’s my person who I want to spend the most time with, do all of the things with and tell everything to, who I trust the most with everything and look for first in a room. We share so much. He’s also one of only two people that can get away with annoying me in the small ways he does and have me find it endearing still and when we are not together, because we do have separate interests and friends as well as joint ones, we do miss one another.

I’m also in the don’t moan about my husband camp… to the point that his friends and mine make a joke about how ‘perfect’ he is (his best mate even bought him a ‘perfect’ mug).
