Back from our night away in Brighton. So nice to stay in a hotel and not have ds singing away at 7am Lovely to have him home now though. He was a good boy for my mum and slept til 8am thankfully. Bought his school uniform yesterday. So strange to think of him starting school soon. He's not phased at all though - taking it all in his stride.

Ginnny - I suppose you could always tell xp that you have changed your mind............or does part of you want to see him?

I don't blame them. Work is a bit like that

lilyloo · 20/07/2008 19:54

Ladylush glad you had nice time

Dior did they say anything at pick up time ?

TFM /WW aren't you good getting everything done ds has broken up now as has dd1 from pre school and my ironing is a foot high but great excuse to ignore it

Ginny hope he hasn't bothered you this weekend!

UC well done you that must be so hard to do hope it works for you

I went to watch mamamia on Fri night and would thoroughly reccomend it it was fab had a few drinks first and everyone was dancing /singing in the pics it was really funny too you all deserve a few !

UC · 20/07/2008 20:09

hello all.

Ginnny, hope your weekend was ok? ANd you didn't get caught under the bed!!

Gosh, school uniform. I haven't even really thought about what DS needs, let alone considered buying any... last minute merchant. Or is it just that fog that a few of us are suffering from. I missed out on DS's parents' meetings last week at preschool and had to beg for an appointment later. I felt like a really rubbish mummy. I just can't keep everything in my brain at the moment.

I had a nice weekend, went out for dinner on Friday, saw a friend on Sat, and went to the beach today. it was glorious sunshine.

got glammed up again for DSs arrival home from time with H. Grrr. Still managing to be calm, collected and have make up on. If nothing else it's making me feel better. Although I've changed now, got tracky bottoms on. Much more comfy...!!

Ladylush, glad you had a nice weekend. Hope it was suitably dirty! . I would so love a weekend like that... Oh for a shag .

Sorry ladies.

ladylush · 20/07/2008 23:20

Thanks lilyloo and UC. Lol at dirty.........actually it was. However, since I have been feeling why go to the effort of arranging it etc. etc. Don't get me wrong..........he loved it. I did too. It's just that sometimes I can't get over the thought that I should have walked. Does that make sense? UC, the fact that you are contemplating a dirty weekend.................good on you my love You are a lot further on than I was at your stage.

I start my new job tomorrow. Shit!!

lilyloo · 21/07/2008 08:32

Hi everyone

Just popping on to say hello. I may not be around much for the next few weeks, dd is on holiday from school and so needs entertaining

Good luck for today LL.

Hope you are feeling better soon Dior. Well done on walking to school even though you have a dodgy tummy. When does your ds break up?

Have a lovely day everyone xxx

ginnny · 21/07/2008 11:39

Hi everyone.
No WW I didn't get caught under the bed. I was a big girl and cancelled Friday night . He came round on Saturday night though and came to the school BBQ with us, then he asked if he could come in and I said NO!
Yesterday we went to a BBQ for some friends who have just moved in near us and he was trying to pretend everything was OK, I took the dc home about 8 and left him there. Next thing I know he's hammering on my door, off his head, at 3.00 in the morning demanding a cigarette! I couldn't get back to sleep after I was so angry now I'm so tired I'm struggling to do all the things I've got to do today.
I saw him this morning and he was still drunk . He's in Witherspoons now with all the other alkies .
Lily - I saw Mamma Mia last weekend, its brilliant isn't it. I love Julie Walter's singing Take a Chance on Me at the end. It was fantastic- definitely a feel good film!
Anyway, got to drag myself to the shops (meeting Mum for lunch!) then try and tackle the ironing and squeezing it all into the suitcase.

Baffy · 21/07/2008 21:34

Hello everyone

Just a quick hello as I've just got back so no time to catch up just yet.

Had a lovely holiday. Struggled the first few days as I was trying to 'think' everything through, with no answers, no H, no idea what's going to happen, and just thoughts and images to torture myself with...

So after a couple of days I gave myself a massive kick up the bum, put all thoughts of home out of my head, and had the most wonderful time with ds. We really did enjoy every second. And my little boy is an absolute angel. I was so so proud of him.

Back to reality now But it's made me realise just how happy I can be away from all the destructive crap OW brings, and also made me realise that as long as I have ds I know I'll be ok.

Off to put some washing in and get ready for work tomorrow But I'll catch up as soon as I can.

Hope you're all doing ok xx

Baffy · 21/07/2008 21:53

Just had very quick skim read!

Macd your dd is fantastic I bet you're so proud

Dior fantastic news! You're doing so well. I've put on about 20 stone this last week so it's healthy eating and walking/running 4 times a week starting tomorrow...
... We'll see!!

Ginny I'm so sorry for all the crap you're going through I'll read properly tomorrow. I hope you're ok xx

PC hope you had a great time at the festival. And thanks so much for the text while I was away

TFM - excellent news about the races and dp. I love your posts lately.
How is dp's Gran doing though?

Cash - great to see you xx

HW, lily, UC, WW, LL, Tanee.... hello I promise I'll catch up properly soon!

Any news from lilybubble? And who was it said they had heard from ernest - is she doing ok? I was thinking about you all after pc's text the other day while I was lying on the beach! But ernest popped into my head and I was wondering how she's getting on.

Right - really off to do some washing and unpacking now!

ginnny · 21/07/2008 22:02

Welcome back Baffy - we missed you . Glad you enjoyed your holiday!
I've just been to my Alanon meeting and I feel so much better for it.
The topic was taking one day at a time and not getting caught up with worrying about "what ifs", which was perfect for me!
So I'm going to do what Baffy did, enjoy the precious time with my dc, and take each day as it comes and whatever he does is down to him.
BUT it is definitely definitely over when we come back .

Cashncarry · 21/07/2008 22:07

Baffy - how lovely to see you back from hols so clear-headed and having had a good time with DS Long may it continue!

Ginny - I just wanted to say how well you're handling the whole DP turning up and being a twunt thing. if it was me, I think he'd have driven me doolally by now and there'd be a lot of swearing a la fishwife style out of the window I think you're being remarkably dignified about the whole thing - if only he could show a modicom of your self-control, you'd be onto a winner. I think you're doing the right thing distancing yourself from him but still showing you care.

Hellooo to everyone else - I'm logging on a bit more ... well long enough to have a quick barney on another thread but that's a whole other story ....

BTW at your bike-ride! I feel knackered just imagining it!! You're doing so so well, I hope you realise that

LOL - at least you're not putting it on in freakin' half stone increments like muggins here! I'm soooo going to need your advice on how to do all this in about six months' time

Hang on - I'm just working out how much I had to lose before I started using my pregnancy as an excuse to eat all the pies...

Cashncarry · 21/07/2008 22:29

Aha - I beat you. I had five and a half stone to lose. I now have to lose! By the time December rolls around, I think I'll just go straight for the stomach stapling ... or should that be mouth stapling

I know - I had a blood sugar scare a few weeks back so have tried to cut out all the bad stuff (she said having just scoffed half a packet of prawn crackers!).

I think you should feel pretty good about your 9lb - IIRC, the only time I've lost significant amounts of weight, it's been on things like Atkins or really severe diets where the weight's come off really quickly and then I've piled twice as much on after. If you're doing it through exercise and diet, statistically speaking, you have a much greater chance of keeping it off.

I'm so coming on the next meet-up just so I can pick your brain and prove I'm not a hairy trucker of course
