Another one who's been following your thread and cheering you on from the sidelines with the rest of the Mumsnet army.

Wishing you strength and calm as the rubbish takes itself out and look forward to reading your updates as you move on into a great future with your children and it all comes tumbling down around Tantrum TWAT Boy's ears (as no doubt it will when he realises how difficult adulting is without WifeMummy to do the hard bits ... ).

You are an example to us all, hugs and the very best to you, this too shall pass X

AcrossthePond55 · 20/06/2026 13:32

@mummy917

You've so got this! And when you're doing your big 'clear out and gussy up' to erase him and make your house totally your own, here's the perfect tune for you to clean to.

Woodfiresareamazing2 · 20/06/2026 14:13

Thinking of you today, @mummy917 , and your kids.
Sending strength and hugs. 💪💐

Must admit to also thinking of Twat struggling to move a wardrobe and sofa on his own...
Karma.

Therealjudgejudy · 20/06/2026 14:37

Op, we may not know you, but we got you. Support and solidarity all round. You are doing amazing ❤️

I have a wonderful image of him struggling with the sofa while OP is following around behind, probably in a silk kaftan type thing, wafting burning white sage and sipping on champagne.

mummy917 · 20/06/2026 15:11

Thank you everyone, I’m overwhelmed by all the support 💛

I do have a funny update. The wardrobe completely fell apart when he was taking it down the stairs 🤣🤣🤣

I know not everyone will agree with this, but I’ve put a bottle of our wedding champagne in the fridge that me and my best friend are going to drink tonight once we’ve had our film night with the kids. Seems fitting to round off him leaving xx

Oh this is brilliant. Please say you have some sage at home you can burn 🙏 and waft it every time he walks past you.

MargoisanA1arsehole · 20/06/2026 15:16

I think there’ll be very few of us that don’t think that’s a brilliant idea!!
well done.
Hope it gives him splinters. In his arse.

Inthedeep · 20/06/2026 15:18

@mummy917 of course the wardrobe falling apart was your fault I’m sure 😂.

At least the trash has taken itself out now and you and the kids can slowly rebuild your lives. I’m sure with time you will be so much happier. I hope the children haven’t found today too traumatic xx

zobeit · 20/06/2026 15:22

The wardrobe falling apart is symbolic of his life now and to come.
Enjoy the 🥂. You more than deserve it.

goody2shooz · 20/06/2026 15:26

@mummy917 hope you handed him the hoover, dustpan and brush to clean up after himself. Smirking while you do so. And of course the fake ‘Oh dear, what a shame.’ More smirking…..

PetulaGordeno · 20/06/2026 15:31

He has wardrobe troubles.
You have chilled bubbles.
And we are all here for both!

ChavsAreReal · 20/06/2026 15:44

When my marriage fell apart I was very worried about the impact on the children.

But they came through it relatively unscathed. I have a great relationship with them. They are happy and doing well.

Divorce isnt what anyone sets out to do, but it doesnt have to be a huge trauma.

They have a strong Mum.

If he's not completely gone and the keys handed back, I might want to put that bottle elsewhere. I've known arseholes to empty fridges and I'd bet a donut that if he sees it, he'll pinch it.

I have a Laurel & Hardy visual of that wardrobe falling apart but this is the closest video I could find. It's a classic!

Jennalong · 20/06/2026 15:52

If he's still there and get to leave - when it's his final trip / leaving ext .
Stand at the door with a big smile on your face and wave him off like you,are saying goodbye to a guest .
Bet that would piss him off !

TheDaringFawn · 20/06/2026 16:10

The wardrobe is icing on cake.. i hope he is gone for good well done op, i been through similar last year but was the oje who moved out
Your bed will feel much comfier tonight.

Noshowlomo · 20/06/2026 16:17

Enjoy the champers! Hold it whilst you’re waving him off 🎉

tinyspiny · 20/06/2026 16:18

I hope you didn’t help him pick up the bits of the wardrobe , unless it was to throw them at him as he left 🤣. Enjoy your evening , now he’s gone you can really start to move on .

Thank you for your stay. Please feel free to to leave a review on our Trip Advisor!

  • OP goes to organise snacks
  • Movie night on a summer’s night
  • Champagne cork pops
  • Twatoo sits with a pile of sweaty gym gear in the middle of his new pad with a Pot Noodle and a bust kettle!

I love this for him. ❤️

DimwittedSkater · 20/06/2026 16:39

OP, that's brilliant about the wardrobe! And I love your champagne idea.

I know this will be a hard day for you, and tomorrow probably won't be a picnic, but remember this saying, which helped me a lot: "No good marriage ever ended in divorce." If he didn't value the amazing gift of a wife and family, OP, then you truly are better off without him. I'm glad he didn't waste any more of your years. At least the children came out of being with him. Now you have the rest of your life to be happy and, when ready, to date with no biological clock pressure. I had a few flings after my husband left (nothing serious) and it was a revelation. So much fun, so light-hearted. Nothing like back when I was trying to find a life partner.

Better times ahead, OP. You really are best off without him.

"No good marriage ever ended in divorce." Rinse and repeat.

MauveLibrary · 20/06/2026 16:54

Enjoy the film night and chilled champagne. The trash has taken itself out. I hope you laughed at the wardrobe falling apart. He can go and be a pathetic sadsack and whoever he has been cheating with will soon dump him. Hope you managed to take away his house key although I would still recommend getting the locks changed just in case he secretly had another key copy made. Get rid of anything that he has left in your house and put the house back to rights and tomorrow you can start putting him behind you. You and your children are better off without him.

ExplodingSmittens · 20/06/2026 17:06

I love the fact that the wardrobe fell apart, only hope that a few more things go wrong for him from now on.

And having the Champagne in ice sounds like the perfect end to a day you were not looking forward to for a while but will come to see as the start of your brilliant new life sans-twatoo.
