H disappeared first thing this morning muttering something about going fishing. By the afternoon I tried to call then sent a message to remind him of something we had on in a couple of hours. Eventually responded to say that he was going to be night fishing & would be back in the morning. In this weather.

On a scale of 1-absolute bullshit, he’s a massive liar isn’t he?! There has been infidelity which he would swear is over.

First home makes dinner and if I’m dead I’m not sure what tracking me will do. If I want to speak to him I’ll ring, he doesn’t have a single reason to know where I am on a tracker!

My son regularly goes pike fishing over winter and stays out. HOWEVER he is fully kitted up. Bivvy, bed, sleeping bag, waterproofs, wellies…the whole lot.

How can he just go off without discussing it with you and then stay away even one night - let alone multiple nights - when the two of you have small children? What would happen if you spontaneously decided to go fishing on the same morning and then to extend it by several nights? He is MASSIVELY negligent and absolutely taking the piss, even if he IS fishing for actual fish.

He’s disappeared & phone is off. She has no idea if he is about to harm himself. They will do a risk assessment and decide whether to take action. Probably won’t or she could text him to say call me or I’m calling the police as I’m worried about you.

Have a look on entitled to and work out what benefits you can get if you don’t stay together. Also contact gingerbread for single parent families. It may be that you can afford to stay where you are and take his name off of the tenancy if you are already renting? Personally I wouldn’t let him back in the house. He has disappeared for days without explaining he is supposed to be your partner.

Agencies and landlords also take the view a mother and children are a safer bet financially than a left behind ex.

He may be AWOL for the duration of the OW visit. I've seen that before on here.

Pack his bags ready for when he gets home, tell him it's OK he doesn't need to lie anymore she's welcome to him, wish them a merry Christmas, turn and shut the door on him. He won't be expecting that!
