Husband is MASSIVELY pee’d off with me

I had lip filler done today but didn’t tell my husband as I know he hates it.
I pranked him a few years back by sticking my top lip up with face glue as an April Fool, and he went mad. At the time, I said I’d never have it done. I’ve never been confident about the way I look, I’ve just turned 48 and thought why not?

I’ve only had a small amount and they are quite swollen, they will settle down in a few days. But he says he can’t look at me and that I look like a clown. He’s been angry and shouty but now getting the silent treatment. We rarely have a cross word so today has been no fun.

Not sure what to do. Any advice please?

I’m no fan of lip filler and find it odd that you’d go ahead and do something you knew your DH would react to so negatively.

But of course, it’s your face and your choice. I can relate a little bit because I had some botox done secretly a year or so ago. My DH has always expressed a dislike of the frozen look (I don’t like it either!), but I just wanted to look less tired and was curious. He didn’t notice anything 😂 , not even ‘ooh you look rested’.

Just because you don’t care what you look like doesn’t mean others don’t care.

You will be surprised at the amount of people who do care what you look like. Especially when you are going for a job.

I’ve just googled 0.5ml lip filler images and it looks pretty obvious to me, just saying. It totally changes not just the mouth but the shape of the face. I know some people with naturally plump lips and you can totally tell the difference; filler creates really odd, hard looking edges along the top lip.
Hopefully it’ll settle down op and your husband will recover!

No no I don’t because I haven’t got a single friend who wouldn’t comment. Nobody has. I had a facial injury from an accident. I now have my natural lip line back. No duck lips. Don’t knock it til you try it.

I would say just wait it out, it will most likely settle in a few days ( your appearance as much as his anger)and he will get over. Sounds to m that you have pretty strong marriage and this too shall pass. You can both talk it through together in few days.All the best❤️

I had it to even out. You need a good practitioner and you have to pay. I wouldn’t go to somebody on the high street. I am just tired of people making comments about women wanting to do something that makes them feel better about themselves. I couldn’t give a shit if anybody “noticed”. So what? My body, my money, my choice. I’ve got nobody to impress. I’m long term single by choice but I like my face to look nice and it does. I shall continue on 🤷🏻‍♀️

They would. They really would. I had some damage from an accident that caused me angst and I wanted my lip line smoothed. So it has been. I don’t have bloody fat lips.

Bollocks. My daughter’s lips look exactly like this and she’s not had any filler at all. That is a really natural result.

So they think your injury magically disappeared or was your injury so unnoticeable that they can’t tell?
