Tell me your ‘unreasonable’ relationship dealbreakers

Ehhtfc · 02/08/2024 19:30

So I’ve said ‘unreasonable’ not because it’s unreasonable to you but may be to someone else. Maybe others think your dealbreaker is diva-ish but you don’t? 😂

So this excludes any unanimous relationship dealbreakers such as cheating, nasty behaviour etc.

I will also welcome posts around ending it for a reason that seems trivial to others but not for you!

I will start, I just could not be married to someone who worked away, for instance in the forces.

That is not normal. And cannot be healthy. Is your breath not really bad?! Are you going about your day breathing on everyone? 🚩

Normal, healthy breathing is silently nose only.

What? Why would my breath be bad?

The correct way to breathe is in through your nose and out through your mouth.

TheCadoganArms · 03/08/2024 07:34

HollyKnight · 03/08/2024 07:00

Yes. Because it is.

Why what way do you breathe?

Well when I am out exercising, through my mouth. When my heart rate is at resting rate through my nose. Kind of worked for me for 40 odd years so far. Assuming someone is not a loud or heavy breather how do you even know how they are breathing. This is just so odd.

It isnt. It really isnt. It can lead to bad breath and gum disease. You are describing mouth breathing. Because you are breathing with your mouth. Honestly, look it up.

Um the NHS for one.

The nose filters and warms the air coming in. Then carbon dioxide is removed fastest via the mouth. Which is why you use your mouth when you're exercising like you said. It's the most efficient way to breathe.

I'm heartbroken to say you and I can't ever date 😭

Endofweekagain · 03/08/2024 07:51

Anyone who says ‘ick’. Such as ‘I could never go out with someone who does X. It gives me the ick’

Makes grown women sound like they have the brain of a five year old.

Mouth breathing is when you breathe in and out of your mouth. Breathing in through your mouth dries out your mouth and throat. But when you breath out through your mouth the air is warm and moist. I.e. not drying. Maybe you should look it up.

I'm sorry to say you and I can't ever date either.

Im clearly over invested in this but i have been. It id how ive spent much of the past 10 minutes. And no, i cannot find an article anywhere to say it is normal to breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. All references say nose breathing is healthy and normal. Unless you are meditating.

but like i said i am very invested now so if you could link the NHS article, as ive searched and come up with nothing, that says normal day-to-day breathing (not dealing with anxiety etc) is out though your mouth, I would be interested in reading it.

Not me, but I had a boyfriend when I was in school (16) who came from a whackadoo hardcore Christian family.

He broke up with me because I said I would send future children to nursery so I could work, and he said he believed children needed to stay in the home and it was god’s will that women stayed home with them. Oh and he didn’t like it when I said I thought the bible was more metaphor than literal. Apparently, it’s all completely factual and the earth was created in 7 days and all that bs.

Best I can gather from facebook stalking 20+ years later, he is married with 4 children (no idea if any of them were ever subjected to the earthly evils of nursery), and he is head of an evangelical church. I’ve also heard through the rumour mill back in the day that he’s had more than one dalliance with another man. 🙄 Lucky miss, I’d say! 😂

Have you honestly never noticed that other people don’t breathe like this in their day to day life?

Or do you think everyone but you is breathing wrong?

Most of the noisy breathers I've noticed are nose breathers. The other noisy ones are mouth breathers. Maybe I just know an unnatural amount of sporty people because I see plenty breathing oronasally.

But in your first post you said normal breathing is in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Now you are linking an article saying
Correct breathing is in through the nose and out through the nose

Did you just mis-type in you first post?
