What do you find attractive?

Light hearted question - a male friend just told me that he can get turned on just by hearing his girlfriend’s voice on the phone (in a normal conversation rather than anything sexy!)

This surprised me and led me to wonder if this was a common thing? What do you find attractive in someone apart from the obvious?

My partner is a drummer & watching him play drums makes me go all fluttery.

Someone who is self- posessed and quietly rebellious, has some self-taught skills, a sense of mischeif and irony and a cheeky grin.

Also a weird one but I think it is sexy that my husband has a beard sometimes, and no beard sometimes. It's like having a new husband every couple of months!

Men: slim and works out but not too buff or sturdy! Dark messy hair and glasses. Quirky face - quite like Yotam Ottelenghi or Jeff Goldblum when younger. No skinny trousers or ott tattoos. Well cut jeans (not ripped ) or something. Crisp shirt with sleeves rolled up. Like a bit of body hair. Pert bum!

Women: medium height and build. I do like a bit of arm definition but not crucial! Again, quirky, real face. Natural - minimal or no makeup and no fillers/Botox etc. I like lines! Dark hair, or grey hair. Clean and well presented. Wearing striped man’s pjs with an oversized wool jumper.

Both: quick to laugh and a dry sense of humour. Kind and compassionate with a sense of responsibility to others including fellow humans. Calm and emotionally intelligent. Has passion for something (anything). Open minded and non judgemental. Left wing political stances.

Man here but I've always found tomboys very attractive, I like women who are a bit "rough" and dont spend too much time in the mirror even tho I spend quiet a lot of time in the mirror myself lol.

Women who are good around kids is another very attractive trait especially since that I would like kids someday. Im very into natural women and I also find stretch marks attractive!

In terms of body type im attracted to petite/slim or average women, i just dont find bigger women attractive and never have. I've never cared about boob size or height cause im 6ft.

Fiesty, opinionated, curly hair, big noses! And a liking of stupid jokes

Arms with muscle but not a six pack but a slight tummy 🤤

Good arms, blue eyes, deep voice, smell -aftershave, deep level of conversation - understands themselves.

Me at 20: Muscles, stubble, a bit of a hairy chest. Confidence.

Smelllllll - ooh yes. Not strong aftershave but a warm man smell with a hint of aftershave / bodywash. Also a forearm fan and a guy in a well ironed shirt. Love a bit of stubble.

Someone who’s had an interesting life. For example if they’ve overcome poverty and are still smiling and have ambitiously made it through and improved their life. Doesn’t have to be financial but I find a humble man attractive.
I also love an adventurous man, someone who enjoys climbing mountains or windsurfing, or just any sort of outdoor activity. They also have to love animals too. I don’t care about looks but a friendly face and personality to match does it for me .

Being 'handy' (knows their around a tool kit; useful DIY-er), can laugh at themselves, interested in other people, nice bottom, good forearms (echo the rolled up shirt sleeves comments), deep voice, confident (not arrogant).

When a very traditionally masculine looking/acting man is very gentle and kind with animals/kids and isn’t afraid to be seen like that. Don’t know if I’ve explained it well enough but there’s something about a ‘tough guy’ that will openly go soppy with a dog or a baby

And this. The strong silent type who has perfect self control. It’s so attractive isn’t it

I fancy/have fancied all shapes and sizes of women but as for the inexplicable, personal things to me, any of these things can render me slightly insensible:
Smooth legs with muscle tone in calves and thighs. Grrrrrr
Freckles
Curly hair or cropped, dyed hair (absolutely any colour).
Smoky, slightly masculine voice like Florence Pugh (looking like Florence Pugh also acceptable)
Mischievous grin
Possibly regretted tattoo or two
Dimples in the small of the back
Nicely pruned bush, maybe a bit of armpit hair

None are essential, mind! Although actually my wife has a lot of these and I fancy the arse off her!

Sheffield accent.

Masculine hands, I love sitting next to DP and watching him drive, his hands on the steering wheel 😁 His smell, the crinkles around his eyes when he smiles and his face when he turns to me and smiles.
