Can’t believe it, but here we are on Thread 5!

Thread 4 here

Just back from a 4.5 mile run - bit cold this morning! I’ve sea monkeys growing in the kitchen, soaps hardening in the bathroom, and the carpets are full of glitter. They had a great weekend!

The thumb also seems to be improving. Phew.

All on today to prep for tomorrow’s meeting with Geller. He really does seem broken. But I will not waiver.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and all health ailments are on the mend. Time to slap on some moisturiser - caught the sun this weekend - but look much better for it!

We’ve had a great chat on text. Going to meet him again. Let’s just see. I was honest.

He said he couldn’t read me at all and I’ve a great poker face...whereas I thought I was being quite flirty a couple of times.

Nothing ventured nothing gained. Give it a bit of time.

OP posts:
SpringCrocus · 06/05/2021 23:34

That is quite a negative comment on his part, I'd say! Why does he think he has the right to "read you"??

StuckInPollyannaMode · 07/05/2021 06:38

To be fair I said that about him and he said he couldn’t read me either...so maybe I was negative to him? I didn’t mean to be.

We’re meeting next week for coffee and a walk. Let’s see.

OP posts:
SpringCrocus · 07/05/2021 06:53

Ah, ok then. Yes, worth another meetup, if only for the walk!

Sunbird24 · 07/05/2021 08:34

The not being able to read him could just be that your scanner is still recalibrating. After all it’s been stuck in Gellar mode for quite some time…

Justilou1 · 07/05/2021 10:57

My friend (in UK) dated a yoga teacher. He turned out to be the sneakiest covert Narc you could have ever encountered. Would be hilarious if he was the same guy!

@BobISMyUncle fantastic

Newestname001 · 07/05/2021 16:44

@BobISMyUncle

I'm reaching out to you, in my mind and over the Internet, and giving you a HUGE hug! 🤗

May the future treat you well. 🌹

pointythings · 07/05/2021 17:25

I think the not being able to read you thing could be in part because you've been so used to needing to be on your guard all the time around Gellar. It becomes a habit. Learning to trust and open up again is going to take time and he's just going to have to live with that.

Coffee and a walk sounds fine and if it ends up being a great fizzle out, no harm done. It's good that you're clear about what you want out of your interactions with the weaker sex. Grin

BobISMyUncle you've made me laugh. And also reminded me that my DDs' uncle is in fact Bob, though he doesn't go by that version of his name. However, he's an alcoholic Trump follower who lives in the US so we do not interact. Not all Bobs are created equal.

CloverHilla · 07/05/2021 23:33

You're making such great progress Polly, well done!

StuckInPollyannaMode · 08/05/2021 21:53

Not all Bobs are created equal 😂

@Justilou1 give me an initial - I fear I may be thrown off by Geller as @pointythings says.

Jeepers my reaction to the jab is quite something. Found it quite emotional, quite apart from the physical side. Just hoping I sleep better tonight. I’ve discovered a new and previously unreported side effect - middle of the night shopping. Oopsy.

Of course, Geller has been reacting as if I am at deaths door and require my funeral plan activating. He really is the most tedious, mansplaining individual.

Horrid day here, so I did my yoga and chores this morning and then lit the fire and curled up with Big Bang Theory til the girls came back. On season 11 - only one to go! Sheldon’s proposal made me cry. Ridiculous!

Recommendations for my next series welcome - I was wondering about the Gilmore Girls? Loved Grace and Frankie, Fleabag, Will and Grace etc. Can’t get on with Schitt’s Creek at all, but have tried several times.

Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend in spite of the weather. We’ve done board games, Aquila, colouring, cards and ended up watching the Willoughbys - highly recommend, works on several levels!

Right the rain is lashing down and it’s time for lights out. Oh - second date on Tuesday confirmed. We’re doing a walk I’ve wanted to do for ages...if it ever stops bloody raining.

I get you re the COVID jab - I had a really bad reaction to the first one, a very bad night and only barely able to work the next day. In fact my NHS Trust brought in a rule that you could have 48 hours off post jab and not have it go on your sick record.

If you had AZ, the second one is a piece of cake - sore arm and not a lot more.

Welshgal85 · 08/05/2021 22:32

Glad the date went well and you have a second one planned. Hope it goes well 😊

I felt a bit rubbish after the first Covid jab, had a fever and just felt crap but luckily it only lasted a day or so. Hope you have a better sleep tonight.

I know what you mean about Schitts Creek, I couldn’t get into it at first, I think the first two seasons are a bit slow but after that I was much better and I loved it. I’m rewatching some shows on Disney Plus at the moment, particularly enjoying Cougar Town!

Pashazade · 08/05/2021 22:50

I was thinking all my series recommendations are a bit fantasy heavy and dark (American Gods, Umbrella Academy and Titans) however then I remembered The Good Place which is a fun watch and no blood or gore involved Grin. Did like last season of TBBT. Fingers crossed for the dry weather walk next week!

Figmentofimagination · 09/05/2021 00:03

I recommend Gilmore girls. Absolutely love that show.

SpringCrocus · 09/05/2021 00:53

Brave is a good, empowering film

SpringCrocus · 09/05/2021 00:54

Is this for you, or you and the girls?

timeisnotaline · 09/05/2021 01:07

I wouldn’t worry about the can’t read you comment—anyone not super arrogant on an early stage date is looking for signs that the other person is having a good time / interested /attracted. If he can’t tell he might be a little insecure. So if you decide this time around you think there’s a spark, let him know!

Justilou1 · 09/05/2021 04:55

Gilmore Girls is great, but the reunion made me furious. FURIOUS!!! Also didn’t love Schitt’s Creek initially, but fell for them anyway. Now mourning Moira terribly. Go figure. Will try and find out Yoga Boi’s details. He was a weird one. Liked to be the fount of all spiritual/physical knowledge but wouldn’t be questioned because his actual knowledge was limited to screen grabs. Was very shallow. He had had long relationship with older woman who did not want to let go - turned out that she had funded his lifestyle. He had been a personal trainer prior to becoming yoga guru, but seemed to prefer the classes full of young, bendy women (my take)....

StuckInPollyannaMode · 09/05/2021 06:58

Ooh no, not the same story at all @Justilou1

@SpringCrocus definitely for me - the girls are more into Sofia the First and Full House 🤣

@pointythings yes it was AZ and that’s good to know re second jab. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m DELIGHTED to have had it, but have had a second night of sweats and chills and my arm is now incredibly sore. Got more sleep though, phew.

What’s on the menu today folks? For the first time in ages I’m cooking a Sunday roast today. Might treat us all to making a pudding, treacle sponge or something. See how the mood takes me. But wanting to do that is a good sign - I’ve been remarkably disinterested in food compared to how much I usually am.

A few nice texts exchanged yesterday. I’m wary of being love bombed or his insecurities, he’s letting me take the lead, he’s not pestering or overbearing, it’s nice. I’m also on guard for me turning this into something because he’s nice and I want something, not because there’s actually something there, if that makes any sense. But at the same time I’m trying not to overthink it 😂

Going to the jewellers on Tuesday to find out about having my rings remodelled - another step forward.

swampytiggaa · 09/05/2021 07:35

My random jab side effect is my (healed) broken arm being really achy and sore again. Really strange. Just starting to ease off after about 6 weeks 😂😂 really hope it doesn’t happen again after my second jab…

Newestname001 · 09/05/2021 07:54

I'm caught unprepared today. Lot's going on in my family currently and mentally exhausted so I've just been eating what's currently in the house but bored now with the same things over and over. Might go for a walk to blow the cobwebs and bring back a curry or a ready prepared roast dinner, including dessert, and enjoy a "pop and ping" meal that's required no effort on my part. I might even enjoy a glass of wine. 🌹

Justilou1 · 09/05/2021 08:14

Glad it’s not the same guy @StuckInPollyannaMode... am wary of the “Guru” types, though. I fear they are archetypal.

SpringCrocus · 09/05/2021 08:43

All sounds very good in Polly world!

Lucifer is a good series, as is Jessica Jones (Marvel, but it stands alone to watch, if you are not into the whole MCU)
Also, Outlander.
