How long until you got engaged?

So just curious to know as I'm hoping soon I'll be engaged.

how long after your relationships started did you get engaged and are you still happily married?

Friends for a year
Long distance relationship for two years before getting engaged
Another two years long distance before marrying.
Moved abroad together two weeks after getting married, and have spent the last 10years following his job around Europe. Two kids, now 9&7.
As of next Spring, we will go back to the Long Distance relationship as I'm settling down with DDs in the run up to Secondary school (need to apply in October for eldest). Hopefully he will make it home most weekends.

I our relationship was exactly conventional, but I worked for us. We were 19&21 when we met.

That should say our relationship WASN'T exactly conventional.

Engaged after 14 months, married a year after that. Now been married just over 15 years and still really happy (well i am and i think he is 😄)

Met in 1989

I moved to be with him in 1990

Both our flats were sold by the people who owned them (we knew they were short lets)

He suggested moving in together winter 1990, I refused unless we had an understanding.

Had already wasted years on and off on a charming waster.

We bought in 1991

Married in 1992 (Biggish wedding, not sure how we managed that)

Now married for 28 years.

19 year old son.

Most of them I don't regret.

Proposal after 14 months, engaged (with a ring) at 18 months (due to family events waited to announce it) Married after 3 years together. Married 20 years this year.

Our relationship started with a surprise proposal, so I guess 2 days?

Engaged after 2 years, married for 8.

Engaged after 3 months, engaged 1 week shy of 5 years and getting married on Wednesday. So far we are extremely happy

Engaged after 18 months together .. 1 week after we found out I was pregnant

8 years, marriage and and a 2nd DC later working out okay so far...

Engaged after three months, married seven months after that. Celebrated our Silver Wedding this year. We both knew immediately we were right for each other.

We were together 18 months when we decided to get married, when we moved in together we had agreed it was a trial and after six months if it was still working well we would then discuss marriage. We would like to have a child together in the future, I don’t want to have a child with someone I’m not married to, and our journey will most likely be very lengthy.

We aren’t married yet, thats in April unless covid has other ideas.

Engaged after 3 months as a couple, but we knew each other 11 years before that, now been married 12 years. Got married 16 months after getting engaged.

Met in 2011, on and off casual hook ups 2012-2015, got together properly 2016, engaged and bought a house 2017, married 2018. Babies 2018 and 2020.

Engaged after 5 years.
Married at 7 years.
Still together - 23 yrs in total.

Engaged in 1999 after 4 months, found out I was pregnant next day. Married in 2001, together very happily until his death last year.

6 years

Engaged after 6 months. Been married 16yrs.

10 years to get engaged.
7 years later we are still not married but have 2 DC’s and a mortgage.

We got engaged after just over a year together and married about 6 months after that. Currently TTC and very happy, about to celebrate our 2nd anniversary.

Engaged after 6 weeks, married 4 months later. Still married 10 years on!

4 years. Then married 2 later.

Been married 10 years now.

Together 2012, baby in 2016, married 2018.

Engaged at 26 after just over a year, married just under two years later.
