Friend joked about how many people I had slept with?

I’ve slept with 7 people and I’m 30.

My friend made a joke today that I had been around the block. I feel horrible about it and while three of these were non starter relationships and people I saw maybe 3 months ish, the other four were significant relationships to me that lasted a few years each.

Am I being sensitive here?

7 people is a tiny number for somebody aged 30! My friendship group had an average body count of 7 by the age of 18 I would say. Anyway, the point is it is incredibly misogynistic to ‘joke’ about a woman‘s number of sexual partners- whether that number is 1 or over 1000.
It sounds to me that your friend is perhaps jealous? Maybe insecure and wishes she had A) slept with more people 2) wishes she had slept with left so is projecting her own ‘guilt’ onto you.
FWIW I went on a date with a man who joked I had obviously ‘been around the block’ and we toasted to it! Had a wonderful fling with him for a few months afterwards. So it’s not always a bad thing to have been around the block

But 7 at aged 30 really really isn’t! I’m 25 years old and have slept with 28 men, still wouldn’t consider that a high body count! In my cases it averaged 2.8 men a year.

Is your friend a bit dull? I had slept with more than that before I had even left my teens and it was all amazing fun. As had most of my friends.

I'd slept with 8 men by the time I was 30 and that was 25 years ago and even then it was considered a pretty low number. I remember sitting with a friend at the time adding up who we'd slept with and hers was over 50. She told me (in a joky way) that my count was "rubbish."
