How did you meet your DH/DP?

Just curious to see where people met up.

With me and mine it was through friends. I gave it a go because he made me laugh and made me feel i could be myself.

DH was a flatmate of friends of mine. He was a bit of a slapper at the time so I resisted him for months - didn't want to end up as a notch on his bedpost! Luckily he was persistent. That was 3 years ago - got married last Christmas Eve and due first baby in Nov

Erm well this is going to sound really bad but dp was my (now ex) boyfriends bestfriend..................... he isn't anymore. (don't worry ex bf was a nob)

I placed an ad in the paper as I work in a very female-orientated profession and was finding it difficult to meet men! We met and hit it off straightaway. Three months later he asked me to marry him. We have now been together 9.5 years. And he is bloody gorgeous!!!!

We met at a friends house when he was on holiday in Cornwall. They told us we wouldn't last 6 months but 4 years on we are still together.

I met my ex H in a bar. I went out with him first when I was 18, but he two timed me. He persuaded me he was a changed man five years later...I should have learnt from my mistakes the first time!!

We met at the bridge club in university. We were wild young things.

We didn't get together for a year though as I thought he was gay.

Met at school. He was going out with my friend when I first met him. Got together day after they broke up (they had only been together 3 or 4 weeks and in no where serious though, honest!)

Drove my best friend to meet a bloke she had been writing to. Was dreading being a gooseberry. Anyhoo, turned out he liked me better ... best friend panicked and, without asking me, asked some random bloke at a party we were at if he would write to me (in order to get me away from HER bloke). Got back home, I got random bloke's letter and we started writing. Got married 5 mths later and still married 15 years later . Best friend didn't end up with bloke she had been writing to - she eventually married one of dh's pals

I met DH on a blind date, i worked with someone who was seeing his lodger. We got engaed 6 weeks later, been married now 6years.

Mt sister on the other hand met her DH at nursery when they were 3yrs old. They have been married now for 11 yrs.

We lived in opposite blocls at Uni and met him while I was dumping my ex (me being a 2nd yr while he was a fresher). Turned out we had the same room number so were opposite each other. He waved to me, I waved back ...... we were also both in the CHristian Union and saw each other there, so there were a few points of contact.

We were good friends for 6 months before we got together, started going out in 1990, got engaged in 1993 and married in 94 - 12and a half years now.

He totally admits he was shamelessly flirting with every girl he met - somehow I stuck!!
