Just curious to see where people met up.

With me and mine it was through friends. I gave it a go because he made me laugh and made me feel i could be myself.

We were at the same collage at uni. He shared a room with a bloke doing the same course as me, so I got to know blokes room mate (ie DH). Bloke was out best man. Dh was his best man. Bloke married my mate in collage.

We were friends for years before we were 'an item'

In the playground at infant school - I was five, he was six. Then met up at a club and danced all night and then we went away for the weekend and then he moved in the night we got back.

The internet.
We chatted once on a site about a mutual interest, feeling young and carefree we swapped email addresses then next day talked on the phone.
We immediately hit it off and spoke almost constantly every day for 7 months.
I resolutely refused to meet him in person because I had a real stigma about having 'met' on the internet, I just wanted to keep it as a really odd but really special friendship.
I called him a couple of times from work and having got fed up with my refusals to meet him he traced the number. One night I was just going into my work when I heard someone call my name, turned round and there he was!
Been together almost 7 years, but if he hadn't done what he did I would never have agreed to meet him, bizarre because I was already in love with him, and we would not have our wonderful son.

theslownorris · 27/08/2007 16:30

At the local Young Farmers Club!! He was rich when I met him -how things have changed .

On a group safari holiday to Kenya and Tanzania.

tigerschick · 27/08/2007 17:00

He was a regular in the pub where I worked briefly as a student.
My house-mate at the time was working there and persuaded me to get a job too - she claims the credit for getting us together because she told him what shifts I was working and that he should come in and meet me.

Flower3554 · 27/08/2007 17:01

He was 19 I was 14, almost 15 and we met when he walked passed me in the street and made that silly tongue clicking noise at me.

Bumped into him again later that day and we shared a bag of plums sitting on someones garden wall. The rest, dear readers, is history

Married for 33 years this October

Jude21 · 27/08/2007 17:03

We met on a skiing holiday in France. We were with a group of 24 people but had not met before. He broke his arm snowboarding and I decided to spend the day with him. Seven years, married and three children later...

I was flying to Kathmandu on a private charter and DH was the corporate exec who had chartered the flight! Needless to say when he came to the cockpit to meet the pilot ( me) i gave him my card. He rang me later and i took him to the Hyatt regency and fucked his brains out. The rest is history.

Surfermum · 27/08/2007 17:13

I joined his lifeguard club, we all went away for the national championships and dh, another bloke and I were put in the same room at the Travelodge. The chemistry just hit and when we got back he gave me a lift home from the minibus and he hasn't been home since . Been together 9 years now.

FlameBatfink · 27/08/2007 17:50

barbamama · 27/08/2007 17:51

I got mine in Loot.

I lived in a shared flat and the girl in the bedroom next to me was moving out so we advertised in Loot for a new flatmate and they picked him because he looked like he would pay the bills (came from work so in his suit - we didn't know anybody that wore a suit at the time) and the fit australian lifeguard who was first choice didn't answer his phone.

scattyspice · 27/08/2007 17:52

On a mountain

AnnainNZ · 27/08/2007 18:14

DH was a flatmate of friends of mine. He was a bit of a slapper at the time so I resisted him for months - didn't want to end up as a notch on his bedpost! Luckily he was persistent. That was 3 years ago - got married last Christmas Eve and due first baby in Nov
