  1. The first rule about the dating thread is don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

And a reminder - you don't know them until you know them!

@Sunshineandflipflops lol! I'm trying to shake off a lifetime of prudishness one shag step at a time.

StealthNinjaMum · 18/07/2019 14:49

@AverageGuy a paragraph or two is quite a lot, I never got that much from men I dated. At this stage I would try not to read anything into it, she could be breadcrumbing you but also she could be really busy. Before I have dated two men I have had phone conversations so you could either ask to whatsapp or speak to her.

Ant330 · 18/07/2019 14:50

Yeah I would usually say ditch the pj's but it depends what they look like... Miss H brings her 'pj's' occasionally which consist of a little pair of shorts and snug vest tops Smile I think she knows what she's doing 😂

Ant330 · 18/07/2019 14:52

JeSuis great update post, sounds like everything is perfect! Wink

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 14:57

I look better with nothing on than a snug vest top and no bra Blush

CassettesAreCool · 18/07/2019 14:58

This is why I celebrated the end of school for my DC so hard - teachers talk shit too often.

morenice seriously, no PJs should be required.

averageguy I find the lack in interest you’re getting perplexing, as you definitely sound like the right side of average. PM me if you’d like me to feedback on your profile (I’m your age and I’m the SE). Re your iron - paragraphs is too much, sentences in response is too little. Suggest a phone call to her?

MoreNiceCereal · 18/07/2019 14:59

It's a vest and shorts set with a silly saying on the front, barely covers anything Grin

I'm flexible, we'll see how it goes.

AverageGuy · 18/07/2019 15:10

sunshine ahh, but it's all about the imagination (imho) Blush

Cassetes Thanks. I'll do that.

JeSuisPrest · 18/07/2019 15:22

This with bells on - the thought of my norks making a bid for freedom out of the armholes of a vest top with no bra on if I lay down would be more than I could cope with. I once tried to put on a nice silky shorts and cami set to sleep in when I had my period (tmi) in case of of leakage. When I got into bed MrC asked wtf I was wearing and said "JeSuis, get those off and get into bed, sheets can be washed" - nakedness all the way for us Grin

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 15:22

@AverageGuy When you have ample assets, are 40 and have had 2 children, a flimsy vest top leaves little to the imagination. I need scaffolding!

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 15:23

@JeSuisPrest Haha - ditto!

AverageGuy · 18/07/2019 15:24

JeSuis Grin

sunshine A t-shirt then? Grin at the scaffolding...

CodLiverOil556 · 18/07/2019 15:27

@Sunshineandflipflops you sound very similar to me - my norms can't be controlled by a flimsy vest. Need a substantial support!

CodLiverOil556 · 18/07/2019 15:28

*norks!

WooMaWang · 18/07/2019 15:31

I’ve been trying to buy bikini tops (online, because for some reason it’s even worse in the shops). It’s a depressing thing. I can barely get my boobs into the bloody things (but still the backs are roomy). Why are bikinis manufactured on the basis that is you have boobs of any description you must also have a very large rib cage? I don’t want to have to buy the kind of obviously scaffolded things that Bravissimo sells in a 28G/30FF. They look almost matronly on the models, so imagine what they’ll look like on nearly 40 year old me.

Naked is definitely the way to go for sleeping. If there are kids about, I’ll put PJs on in the morning (or just steal a T-shirt).

AverageGuy · 18/07/2019 15:40

wooMaWang sounds like you have just discovered a niche in the market! Smile Dragons Den anyone?

WooMaWang · 18/07/2019 16:05

I think half the women in the country have discovered this niche. It’s a shame swimwear designers haven’t realized that you can be reasonably slim and still have boobs.

WooMaWang · 18/07/2019 16:14

Relatively slim, @shitwithsugaron. The relatively is key.

Anyway, I’ve seen a photo of you. So I don’t know what you’re talking about.

WooMaWang · 18/07/2019 16:15

Or even reasonably (with the unstated caveat ‘for a nearly 40 year old mother of two who likes wine and chocolate’) slim.

MoreNiceCereal · 18/07/2019 16:20

Ah you ladies are giving me a chuckle. I am 38 and have boobs that have been inflated by breastfeeding more than once - it shows! Sadly I don't really sleep well naked, but maybe that won't matter either. Grin

WooMaWang · 18/07/2019 16:50

I never thought that I slept well naked. Turns out I sleep wonderfully naked with the right person. 😂

Marlboroandmalbec34 · 18/07/2019 16:56

morenice I have breastfed 2 kids in tandem for over 2 years, only stopped in jan. mine are like deflated tiny balloons that need holding up in place 😂

MoreNiceCereal · 18/07/2019 17:06

I could probably roll mine up like a scroll tbh!

Grin

This conversation is making me feel utterly normal and I love it.

SimonJT · 18/07/2019 17:08

@WooMaWang The only time I have slept in anything but my birthday suit since the age of about 17 was a hospital stay. Never again, far too hot and you just end up with a wedgie.
