  1. The first rule about the dating thread is don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

And a reminder - you don't know them until you know them!

MoreNiceCereal I'm in the south east, commutable to London, but have my settings down to 30 miles, as I don't particularly want to travel into London to see someone...

I have a couple of largish cities within about 20 miles, so choice really shouldn't be an issue..

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 12:39

@Marlboroandmalbec34 I bit on the other thread! I am an 'advocate' according to those personality tests and I by nature want to support and stick up for others, which I hope I have done.

We sound quite similar with our situations with Mr Big and Mr SAS. PM me if you want a chat.

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 12:45

I think I finished that thread off...it's being deleted thank God.

WooMaWang · 18/07/2019 12:48

I’m not sure you should be nice on that thread @sunshineandflipflops. You are totally right that no one knows what is going to happen in life, so it’s not a great idea to sneer about people whose circumstances aren’t what you consider ideal.

I’m so glad you’ve sorted everything out @JeSuisPrest. It sounds like you’re going to have a great weekend.

Good work on the new irons @Marlboroandmalbec34. You must be very memorable indeed. I think the issue was that MrBig started to promise more and then couldn’t follow through. That’s not OK.

@butterflyFed At least you get 2 whole lines, even if they’re not entirely reliable. 😂

WooMaWang · 18/07/2019 12:50

I’m glad it’s being deleted. It’s just appalling. I can’t believe it stayed so long (presumably because I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t access the report option).

Some people should really consider my granny’s favourite phrase: there but for the grace if god go I (or non-religious equivalent).

MoreNiceCereal · 18/07/2019 12:57

@Marlboroandmalbec34 I need a dress like that, I think!

My advice is to ignore Mr Big for a while at least and enjoy spending time with Mr Quest and any others!

Marlboroandmalbec34 · 18/07/2019 13:01

I know wooma

Trust me I am not that memorable but what a lovely little boost to my battered ego 😂 he really was very lovely looking too

sunshine thank you

You must be memorable. Otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to describe you, @Marlboroandmalbec34.

That’s exciting @shitwithsugaron. Meeting your best friend and her fiancé is a big deal. I hope it goes well.

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 13:38

Ah @shitwithsugaron that's great!

Speaking of meeting people, I said something to Mr SAS the other night about the fact that my mum would fancy him if she met him and he said "well I'm sure she will at some point". Quite unexpected and I know my mum would love to meet him as she's very nosy but I don't feel we're 'there' at the moment!

WooMaWang · 18/07/2019 13:54

Meeting your mum would be a big step @sunshineandflipflops. It is weird how he gives you such mixed messages.

Prosecco sounds lovely @shitwithsugaron.

In my non-dating related news, DS’s report card is very good indeed. And in no way resembles the conversations I’ve had on the phone with his teacher this term. So I’m going to conclude that she was talking shit (she was about other things, and I did tell her as much). Hopefully he’ll get a better teacher next year.

Still "chatting" to Miss BA, but it's hard going..

I send her a paragraph or two, she sends me a sentence... Sad I'm finding out very little about her..

Is this normal?

WooMaWang · 18/07/2019 14:08

That doesn’t sound great @AverageGuy. It’s hard to get to know someone so taciturn.

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 14:08

@WooMaWang Great news about the report!

@shitwithsugaron I have no idea but I didn't read too much into it to be honest. I have no desire for he and my parents to meet at the moment!

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 14:10

@AverageGuy I've had this before and it's made me lose interest very quickly. Unless she's rather save the conversation for meeting? Has that been suggested yet?

AverageGuy · 18/07/2019 14:14

sunshine not yet, but I'll be suggesting a meet soon. Could this be classed as breadcrumbing?

SimonJT · 18/07/2019 14:17

@MoreNiceCereal My FWB always stayed over, but now the WB has gone he is back to being a best friend.

@JeSuisPrest That’s a lot of pictures 😉

13 days to go, his airbnb looks fairly swanky.

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 14:20

@AverageGuy It makes me wonder if she's just not interested but then surely she'd say or just not reply at all! I think suggesting a meet sooner rather than later is a good idea here.

CodLiverOil556 · 18/07/2019 14:25

@AverageGuy I tend to move onto WhatsApp quite quickly as I hated logging into apps to reply to messages. Try saying that to her

MoreNiceCereal · 18/07/2019 14:40

Well I've mostly decided to stay over. My friend is babysitting and is happy to stay the night so there's nothing in my way but my own reticence, and tbh morning sex sounds appealing. Grin

I've bought cute PJ's just in case...

@averageguy I always ask to move to WhatsApp as soon as we have a decent conversation going. Definitely suggest it.

Sunshineandflipflops · 18/07/2019 14:42

@MoreNiceCereal I would ditch the PJ's Wink

AverageGuy · 18/07/2019 14:42

I asked her if she wanted to meet, and she said "possibly" Confused

How do I respond to that?
