Would you consider dating a man this height?

A man who is 5,5". I'm quite small myself in 5,2". I mean I'm not shallow and it depends ultimately if they are a nice person but I just feel I had a niggle above someone being that short. I'm OLD and most of the decent men I've come across as shorter than the average height.
I'm preparing to be flamed but that's how I feel.

No I wouldn't. I don't find short men attractive.

sonlypuppyfat · 05/12/2018 13:57

As long as he's taller than you I don't see the problem

whatsthepointthen · 05/12/2018 13:57

NOPE. I dont like short men.

MrsCar · 05/12/2018 13:58

I prefer tall(er) men, but I wouldn't not date someone, just because he's only 5 ft 5 (I'm 5ft 3)

Miltonkeynesmummy · 05/12/2018 13:58

Wouldn't bother me at all but then I'm married to a man who is 5'5 and is a brilliant husband 🤷‍♀️

NotUmbongoUnchained · 05/12/2018 13:58

No i wouldn’t and I’m only 5ft!

hellsbellsmelons · 05/12/2018 13:59

I'm 5ft 3" and no I would not.
Shallow? Yes.
But anything less than 5ft 7" is a no no for me.
I like to wear 3" heels when out and about and don't like a guy shorter than me.
No idea why though.
Maybe I need to rethink this as I'm having no luck with the taller ones!
Grin

Musti · 05/12/2018 13:59

But you're even shorter?

5fivestar · 05/12/2018 13:59

I think it should be illegal for you to date men over 5’8” you do not need the height thing ... I’m 5’10” I do

KeysHairbandNotepad · 05/12/2018 13:59

It looks like you're looking for reasons to not date him , which probably means that you're simply not keen.

Racecardriver · 05/12/2018 14:00

I have. I’m 5’10. Do bear in mind that you are also extremely short. A lot of taller men prefer not to date short women. Apparently it’s not uncommon for uhem mechanical issues to arise when there is a disparity in height anyway.

MadameJosephine · 05/12/2018 14:00

Absolutely, I’d date him and see how we got on. He’s got more to offer than his height surely? If you get to know him and then don’t fancy him then that’s fine but if his height is the only thing then I wouldn’t let that put you off

Burlea · 05/12/2018 14:00

How pathetic. He might be a great person and your dismissing him because of his height.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 05/12/2018 14:01

5five I’m 5ft and my husbands 6ft4, when can you collect him? Smile

Racecardriver · 05/12/2018 14:01

@5star you do realise that you are allowed to date shorter men right?

BaronessBomburst · 05/12/2018 14:02

I'm 5'6" and once had a boyfriend the same height. It was only odd in that his predecessor had been 6'4" so it took a bit of getting used to.
It didn't bother me in the slightest.

HRTpatch · 05/12/2018 14:03

I am 6 feet and dh is 5 feet 8.
I am not insecure enough to require a hulking 6 feet 3 man.

Elfinablender · 05/12/2018 14:04

Yeah, I have. I'm 5'5 and back when I was single, eons ago, I dated and "dated" guys the same height as me.

MadameJosephine · 05/12/2018 14:04

One of my friends is about 5’10 with legs that go on forever. Always in heels. Her fiancé is about 5’6 ish. He’s also extremely clever, witty, funny, kind, generous and worships the ground she walks on.

BaronessBomburst · 05/12/2018 14:05

@Racecardriver Yep. Inside leg measurements are key here....... Grin

Ladominate14 · 05/12/2018 14:06

Nope. I'm 5ft 3.

Theyprobablywill · 05/12/2018 14:08

Yeah, don't date if you don't want to. After all there will be loads of men who won't touch you with a bargepole because you have a fat arse/mum tum/saggy tits/other visible 'flaw', so no reason why you shouldn't be chosey.

Plus leaves a bigger pool for us more discerning women.

CherryValance · 05/12/2018 14:09

My husband is only about an inch taller than me (I'm taller in heels). I'm nearly 5'6". I really don't mind. Also kissing is easy!

KlutzyDraconequus · 05/12/2018 14:10

And men think women are shallow... Can't understand why...

blueangel1 · 05/12/2018 14:10

If he's not showing signs of Napoleon Complex, go ahead.
