Because you asked for it with such vociferousness, and the other thread, astonishingly, is nearly full... Grin

Good luck Mortal- don't forget to just have fun!

allaboutthatsass · 13/12/2017 20:13

hang on, so you didn't exactly accept his offer of dinner, just assumed he'd know you'd accept? You need to make it clear you accept. The poor guy could be sitting stressing out, not knowing what you think. Why not send an email or text saying "looking forward to dinner, thanks so much for inviting me" or something like that

Catmint · 13/12/2017 22:06

Wishing you a lovely evening tomorrow. I hope you revel in each other's company. Don't go with a snogging agenda, who wants their first physical intimacy to be in front of an audience of shorts-clad men?!

It will be an opportunity to enjoy call-backs to your in-jokes, develop your mutual shorthand and enjoy each other outside of the rushed and efficient atmosphere of work.

I'm working away at the moment, and just writing that has given me such lovely memories of when I first started seeing my now husband. Smile

Thanks, Mortal!

CountFosco · 13/12/2017 22:15

Have a lovely evening with Rumpled tomorrow. You realise the later in the night evening you post the more excited we'll be!

But we need to know, did you get a new bra and dress for the new lovesick body.

ferriswheel · 13/12/2017 22:16

So happy to find this. I wondered where you had gone! Off to get caught up. Hope this is happy.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 13/12/2017 22:19

Delurking to ask when the city break not-date meal is? I mean I don’t need an exact date, but I do need something to look forward to!

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 13/12/2017 22:25

Shamelessly placemarking!

badbadhusky · 13/12/2017 22:34

Mortal you write so beautifully and “furry as bears” is brilliant.

I’ll never watch an Austen adaptation in quite the same way thanks to this mental image, Mortal.

springydaffs · 13/12/2017 22:50

Modern day actresses won't be furry as bears. Just saying.

Xoticdreamz · 13/12/2017 23:29

A shameless Placemark following catching up on previous thread. Everything crossed that tomorrow is a fantastic night for you both.

badbadhusky · 13/12/2017 23:31

Nonetheless, the link has been made. 😯

Delurking to follow! Love this thread. Yay it's Xmas party night. Good luck Mortal

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 14/12/2017 13:15

What time does the party start?

christmasrage · 14/12/2017 14:10

I hope there is a bit of hand holding... there is no romance in my life, so a bit of vicarious handholding would be nice...

GiGiraffe · 14/12/2017 14:22

I've been waiting for tonight for ages!! Good luck! Hope it goes well

gunsandbanjos · 14/12/2017 15:28

Is it sad that I’m excited for you mortal?

StormTreader · 14/12/2017 17:01

I've just found this whole thread, read it all, and now I'm invested and waiting for the update!

twiney · 14/12/2017 17:03

Exciting!

Whilst we wait - does anyone remember a thread by another good writer, but this one was sad, I think the OP was called Shirley? And she was an academic?
