Because you asked for it with such vociferousness, and the other thread, astonishingly, is nearly full... Grin

Delurking to follow - Mortal have a lovely evening tomorrow. This thread is a tonic.

springydaffs · 13/12/2017 16:32

Oh my gosh I'm on board, wibbling with excitement. Strictly final pales, I tell ya

Tomorrow you say?

LJ25 · 13/12/2017 16:32

Place marking Grin

mikulkin · 13/12/2017 16:36

Mortal do you have dd or ds,
You were talking about your DS in another thread (his name was starting with th and your in-laws couldn’t pronounce it) but here you only talk about dd....?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/12/2017 16:37

Placemarking so I don't keep looking at the wrong thread Blush

Apileofballyhoo · 13/12/2017 16:38

Have you decided on an outfit for the Christmas party, Mortal? You'll have to have a second lovely outfit for Workcityabroad Date! Is it Paris? Please be Paris!

janetheimpaler · 13/12/2017 16:42

looking forward to the party

MortalEnemy · 13/12/2017 16:54

Mik, I've been upfront about the fact that I've altered details on this thread to make it less screamingly identifiable.

Mix56 · 13/12/2017 16:57

Hang on.... Tomorrow !
So do you have to get the bus home ? have you got a babysitter, or someone you need to get home to relieve ?.....
This is important to me

macnab · 13/12/2017 17:02

What was the flirty/jokey thing in his text message Mortal? Surely you know by now that we need ALL the details, in minute detail!

I’m looking forward to your Christmas party more than my own Xmas Grin

MortalEnemy · 13/12/2017 17:03

Also, I'm now getting total performance anxiety about this damn Christmas dinner. Which will be the quietest affair in the world, I assure you. R only flowers out into intimacy in writing or solo, and as he's driving, he won't be drinking. Also, we'll have had something like three meetings together all day, at least one of them pretty challenging, so we'll have reached the stage of exhausted comradeliness, rather than 'But you're beautiful, Mortal'. Grin

And no, it's not Paris, a apile. But, while I'm very fond of Paris, I used to live there, and don't automatically code it as insanely romantic.

Visiting family member babysitting, yes, I need to get home via an expensive taxi.

Chiconbelge · 13/12/2017 17:25

How about we promise to be quiet and calm and dignified and just make occasional witty or profound literary references ... we could rumple up our hair too?

Gotthetshirt23 · 13/12/2017 17:25

Or he could offer to drive you home ? Wink

badbadhusky · 13/12/2017 17:27

Shamelrss placemark whilst I have you in my sights.

MrsTerryPratchett · 13/12/2017 17:33

Right. I've been on a ferry for two hours on my way to a work thing and finally caught up.

Now, place marking for tomorrow's dinner.

lemondrizzlecakelover · 13/12/2017 17:39

Can't find thread 1 😳 quick update please? 😘

Florene · 13/12/2017 17:47

Nothing about this situation is quick Lemon - you need to savour every moment!!

MonaChopsis · 13/12/2017 17:53

I'm really happy you're on to thread 2... And am blatantly placemarking for the Xmas party update. I'm banking on witty repartee throughout dinner, leaving at the same time, and then an awkward nearly-a-kiss-but-not-quite moment at the taxi rank Grin

bakewelltarte · 13/12/2017 17:57

I have been lurking since the beginning - I adore this thread! Blatant placemearking but go Mortal and Rumple!

Chikka1971 · 13/12/2017 18:02

I have followed this thread obsessively since the start. You are adorable Mortal. Try not to feel pressured about the meal. We're all just so excited for you. But it doesn't all hinge on tomorrow night as you know. This is just unfolding beautifully and feels to us as though it's gathering speed wonderfully. Keep going and keep us posted ❤️

Slartybartfast · 13/12/2017 18:16

aw

Hotbot · 13/12/2017 18:26

Ho hum. ..........

😁

BeverlyGoldberg · 13/12/2017 18:32

This is like Mumsnet “Love Actually”.

Mortal you write so beautifully and “furry as bears” is brilliant.

Good luck Wine
