Because you asked for it with such vociferousness, and the other thread, astonishingly, is nearly full... Grin

Look, I wish Mortal all good luck but my god the amount of supposition on this thread is crazy.

Apileofballyhoo · 17/12/2017 20:50

All the very very best, Mortal. You are right about privacy.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 18/12/2017 16:36

Merry christmas Mortal Xmas Smile

You still need to hold his hand Wink

Redsippycup · 18/12/2017 22:46

Aww Sad it's been lovely mortal

All the very best to you and Rumpled, perhaps you could make strategic use of some mistletoe? Wink

StormTreader · 19/12/2017 10:06

Its been lovely to know that even in my invisible-and-forever-single life, someone out there who isnt "stunning" has been having a bit of a grand love affair with someone who seems genuinely warm and lovely in an endearingly human way. However it works out, you have my very warmest wishes Mortal :)

Goodasgoldilox · 19/12/2017 18:02

Wishing you all the best Mortal. I have been thinking how brave you were to be on here.

Don't get too hung-up on the 'not beautiful' thing. Look around and note the not beautiful individuals with loving partners. There are millions of us!

Then notice that you yourself can truly love to see faces that are not likely to end up on the cover of a magazine.

Think of all those deeply ugly newborns (scrunched-up red...) whose mothers see as the most lovely beings in all creation.

If he said you looked beautiful - then you did. (To him - even if not to you or your grandmother.)

Humans don't all see alike.
Thank goodness.

I've been treasuring reading this and last thread, but did not have anything original to add, so kept quiet.

Am coming in now to wish you ongoing best in your 'liking' of R. You both are delightful, from what I've read. You sound well matched and I am so hopeful that you arrive at something lasting in the future. Time will tell.

Thank you for letting us into your (beautifully written) world.

Downtheroadfirstonleft · 20/12/2017 18:49

Wishing you all the best and thank you for 2 lovely threads. Xmas Smile

Understand your position Mortal, and it's entirely your decision! At the same time, I feel sad if you've been discouraged to continue writing due to a couple of malicious doubters. You've seen the feedback that everyone else is in your team, wishing the best for you! Your thread has provided something beyond 'entertainment', it has provided a beautiful example of human awakening, wanting to be wanted, feeling vulnerable, but taking a risk .. I think that you've engaged many people here because we can all identify with that experience (at some point of our lives). Please don't hesitate to re-appear if you need our support! /Love from us

Just read both threads, after you were recommended for thread of the year. Hope everything goes wonderfully in the new year!

Apileofballyhoo · 24/12/2017 21:27

Just came on to wish you a happy Christmas, Mortal.

Adifferentcorner · 14/05/2023 21:37

@MortalEnemy I’ve just come across your thread and have loved reading all your updates! Hope you became more than just colleagues, sounds like you had a real connection.

I thought this had been bumped with an update, so I read all the OP's posts! 30 minutes of my life I won't get back! 🤦‍♀️

Hungarian? Romanian? Polish? You sound very cultured. I am Hungarian. To English mumsnetters: people from these countries can be quite cultured. Much higher expectations at school than in the UK. (Sorry, but true).

EBearhug · 08/04/2024 02:29

This an ooold thread...

Bionicnose · 08/04/2024 03:00

Yes, I could see this was an old thread from the start. To hell with the lady who scared Mortal away. I loved both threads and I so wanted to know what happened. That said, at some point in the thread I thought Rumpled might not be happy on the sharing of their story. But again, London is huge and there is no way we could have uncovered their identities.

Downthemedow · 08/04/2024 09:08

I’d love to know what happened here! The OP wrote so well.

Changedname23 · 28/04/2024 15:27

This was my all time favourite thread on Mumsnet. I hope it all worked out for the OP
