I’m Mouse one of the Brave Babes who ride on this wonderful Bus, called Gerald, along with all the Opal Fruits wrappers and of course Barry The squid.

We all have a wise variety of life experiences and experiences with alcohol too. We’re not admirers of hang overs and we certainly don’t do judgey pants!

We’re here to ride along with you, when life is pants but also when it’s not as well and you my want to celebrate that bit too much!

Got it in one demented. Too many moves, too many tours, too much access to cheap booze and too many empty evenings in which to drink it! Plus a distinct lack of willpower. Looking forward to getting aboard the bus and breaking free of the wine witch and her 7pm appearance every sodding night.

Oh, you know what army blokes are like - sometimes it’s easier when they’re on the other side of the world At least I can go to bed early when I need to and eat my own body weight in chocolate and crisps. Thanks though - I think I’m going to like riding the bus.

Dog has finally done the cat's job and caught and removed the guest. Because he's a soft-mouth breed, (bred to pick up game without damaging it), they tend to make it outside alive - what happens once there isn't my problem

So, I am sharing the last bottle of champagne with DH - who has a sickening ability to moderate, he will some times just have half a can of lager over an evening, what the bloody hell is wrong with the man?

Just checking in to wish you ALL a Happy New Year!

Here's to kicking the Wine Witch in her saggy tits, slaying the Beer Dragon, and swooping the Spirits away!

Things to remember - stay focused, find distractions especially during your witching hour, get busy with other stuff.

Things to think about - no gorilla armpit breath at stupid o'clock in the morning, no anxiety (what did I do, what did I say, did I offend/upset anyone) clearer complexion, less bloating, being able to remember the last page you read in your book, remembering the film plot, having more money to spend on yourself, no hangovers, more patience, more time to do things that you want to do or have always dreamt of......

The one that really helps me 'watch the film to the end' mine was never a pretty sight! Take it one day at a time, one minute, one hour. Drink a large cold drink of water, coke, anything to quench your thirst and give it half an hour, the urge will have vanished.

Christmas Day was my 1000 day AF if it wasn't for this bus I could never ever have achieved this. I am so grateful for the Babes on here, thank you

Tomorrow is the first day for many - we can do this together. The support on here is amazing and there is no judgement. If you're finding it tough post on the bus, there will always be a Babe here ready to help.

We are all here for the same reason, it takes a lot of guts to admit that your drinking is a worry. Take a seat and enjoy the ride.....

spanna41 that is amazing - 1000 days :). I have spent the evening reading back on the full thread - so many people in difficult & tricksy situations, I feel both humbled and a bit guilty to really have nothing major going on in my life apart from a taxing client for the next year and a quarter.

I am going to bed in 30 minutes and I have not drunk today (also not had any desire to).

Night night Twattage, I'm not far behind! I've taken the advice and bought cordials - currently enjoying the lime and ginger! Clean sheet night calls plus a border terrier having a meltdown over fireworks so am drugging him up (vet stuff, nothing sinister 😁) and taking him with me.
