OMG. Had this show recommended to me today.

I find it quite hard to watch, having had my ex husband cheat on me, and I'm holding my breath a fair bit, but I'm loving how strong she Is!

It's really good. It can be quite a tough watch if you've been through being cheated on. But his manipulation, gas-lighting and lying is very recognisable to most people who have been through it (although probably a bit more extreme).

Second series is SO BAD!!! First one was brilliant. I don't know what happened!!!

It does touch home a bit. Even when she first found the hair on his scarf took me back a few years.

I have found this so difficult to watch. Mainly because it is literally SO close to home and so many parallels to my own situation, and also not extreme at all given what I have experienced. I live approx 3 miles from where it was filmed...where my now ex-h lives with OW. So many venues on there were in his financial disclosure, indeed even the OW's business was seen in a shot. I won't go into names co-incidences but my God it's made the hair on my neck stand up more than once. It's been like watching a snapshot of my own life over the past few years, almost word for word. I can say that I haven't sought out teenagers to drink wine with nor drunk a gazillion units of alcohol a day, but I would say to those who haven't experienced a divorce under affair circumstances that I can absolutely relate to Gemma's perceived "madness", that some men are exactly like Simon, that some OW's are so utterly entitled and have such little self awareness that they DO behave like that. This, for me, is a good example of the reality of trying to deal with losing your marriage, life and in this case, children, to two utterly sociopathic, self-centred individuals who cannot even begin to understand the amount of pain and trauma they have caused and indeed, refuse to see it and probably never will. I had to stop watching the first series as it was literally too painful. This series I have coped with better. I do think that the researchers have done their job very well, I also hope that Gemma is not left being portrayed as the bitter, angry ex-wife. I hope this does some justice to those of us who have literally had to pick up our lives and those of our chidren and soldier on.

She drink drives, goes clubbing all night , shags her son's school teacher then goes into work as an immaculate high earning GP😕 come on!!! It's NOT demonstrative of normal wives who have been cheated on, I find it good drama but not really true of real life infedelity.

Babycow...I do agree with that...largely....however, I do think that it has been very demonstrative of the path of utter lunacy that you can be sent down when trying to deal with such a situation. I've seen worse (not me, I should add) but I get it! Totally. I just want it to be OK for her. I am far too invested in this

Hi. Where can I watch this? Episode 1 season 1. The BBC site is not showing the earlier shows. Tried Youtube but asking for payment. I remember really wanting to watch this a while ago but couldn't find season 1.

2nd series is terrible. It was so promising but they should have stopped at one.

I'm enjoying the second series. I think she has BPD. I was quite at all the 'you go girl' stuff about her behaviour in series 1. I like that series 2 is all about the consequences for their child as the first one just left me thinking 'that poor poor boy'.

Exactly me too offred I didn't get that either. I thought her behaviour was way off. Especially that bit in the end (can't say much) involving the son. Made me feel sorry for him too. I essentially didn't like the message from the angle that the child was really included in the drama between the parents in an ott way and also this message that women can lose all sense of perspective and totally lose their shit over a cheating husband, to the point of losing their professionalism entirely.

I find it weird when people say it's not possible to behave like Gemma at night and then become immaculate high earner next day. It shows she's a strong woman and believe me there are strong women with survival instinct out there.

The only thing that gets me is she often walks out of her clinics. You just don't do that unless you are throwing up or something!!! Otherwise I have enjoyed watching it.

No, for me it shows how seriously personality disordered individuals are often 'pillars of the community'.

Simon is a weak pathetic man but Gemma is really seriously disordered.
