I sent ex DP a video where DD 3 is playing in a t shirt and nothing else. He has reported me to a family friend who is a solicitor.

I left DP in January this year and moved five hours away. Since then I try and send photos and/ or videos daily for him to still feel a part of her life.

Today at bedtime DD began to play a game with her soft toys and was really engaged and chatty. I thought it was a sweet moment. I recorded about 45 seconds worth and sent it to him.

About four hours later he sent me a text telling me never to record her semi nude again and has reported me to a solicitor who has "documented" the incident.

I am not on any social media and the video was only and would only ever be sent to him. When I was recording I didn't really notice that she had no knickers on. I was paying attention to her game and never directly focused on her lower half. Having watched it back there are about 9 seconds where you can see her vagina or bottom when she lifts her arms and her t shirt is pulled up.

I feel that he has over reacted and surely a simple message from him along the lines of " this makes me feel uncomfortable, please don't do it again" would have been suffice. I feel really hurt that he felt that this was necessary. There is no SS involvement with our family and I am not sure how to handle this when I speak to him tomorrow.

What do you think?

I think he was a prat to go about it in this way but imagine if someone has seen the video on his phone got the wrong end of the stick and reported him for having it. Maybe he was covering his back. I wouldn't stop sending him photos and videos but once a day is quite a lot and I would think unsustainable long tern. Maybe send him a little update at the end of the week.

The chances of this happening are minuscule. He's being a twat for the sake of being a twat. That's all there is to it really.

He could have deleted the video and told you about it but no he had to tell a solicitor. He is an nasty piece of work trying to make you look bad.
I would not share any more videos with him ever again.

Keep your original copy of the video safe.....

Do not send him anything again OP Flowers

OP you should have watched the video back before sending it to him, as it is a bit inappropriate, suppose you lost your phone and the video got into the wrong hands? I don't think he is being unreasonable in that sense, but he shouldn't have reported you.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 29/08/2017 16:31

The chances may be minimal but the reality is it does happen. Like I said he was a prat for telling his solicitor friend (bit different to reporting you to any official source) he could have just deleted it and asked you not to send nude photos or videos as it leaves him at risk.

BoneyBackJefferson · 29/08/2017 18:07

boopsy
If someone saw the vid on his phone they would just probably think 'oh a cute vid of his dd playing, how sweet' only people with dirty minds would think him a pedo for having A video of his own daughter playing where he bits are on show for a few secs ffs!

Really? I can imagine a whole different thread

"AIBU, to report my work colleague for showing a video with a baby's bits on view?"

I can only imagine a couple of replies that weren't report to the police he's a peado.

ElizabethShaw · 29/08/2017 18:19

No one would suggest reporting anyone to the police because they have home videos of their own baby naked! Let's not get hysterical.

OP, that would absolutely be the last photo or video I would ever send him.

Emboo19 · 29/08/2017 18:20

I've sent videos and pics of DD in the bath to DP, she's obviously naked but I'm not focusing on that.
I've honestly never thought of anything wrong in it, he's her dad.

Emboo19 · 29/08/2017 18:20

I certainly wouldn't send him anything else Op.

BluePheasant · 29/08/2017 18:23

Well that would be the last video/photo I ever bother sending him. He sounds like he's always waiting for any excuse to mess with you. What a dick.

Emboo19 · 29/08/2017 18:24

Oh and when she was born we had a first picture of her, with the towel round her but not covering her (if that makes sense) and we sent that to pretty much all our close family.
Never thought anything of it at all.

winterwinter · 29/08/2017 18:26

If someone can look at a nude child and see something depraved about it then the problem is with THEM and not with you. Don't involve him in her life at all as he clearly is a twisted individual using any chance to take a stab at you, disgraceful
