How did you get through it? Was it really for the best?

Hark at you two discussing healthy meals - how very MN

Ifonlyhewould · 16/04/2007 14:32

Stab, stab, ping! Be careful! Everytime DS hears a bell he may think it's dinner time

mylittlestar · 16/04/2007 14:50

Lol!

At the bbq we went to, ds's little cousin had a 'kitchen' that they were playing with. And ds was obsessed with the microwave part. Pressing the buttons and then opening the door to hear the ping!!

I told everyone it's because I warm his milk in the microwave and he loves his milk so much...

Ifonlyhewould · 16/04/2007 14:53

Evening all glad you all doing well, just in process of catching up with you all. Work been very busy today, actually more so than home with dc's so am having to mnet tonight whilst dp watches some random thing on tv Glad you not going too fast today shouldn't take too long to catch up ! Feeling proud that i cooked a full chicken dinner after work unfortunately that meant no dinner until seven therefore bedtime routine out of window aaah can't win . Oh well off tom but have to wash the car to wash off monkey footprints from safari park yesterday so will try and catch up with you all at some point tom. x

Ifonlyhewould · 17/04/2007 08:59

Nobody will think you're stupid ginnedupmummy - just a very caring and loving person

How's he been behaving since he got back? Have you managed to talk to him about the long-term implications if he hits the bottle again? How did he break his leg btw?

Tanee58 · 17/04/2007 12:46

Hi everyone, how are you all? Hi ginned up, enjoy the park. GOOD LUCK with having him back. If you and the kids are happy, that's what matters. Just take things as they come and decide later.

I'm having a hell of a day in the office - only me and the b***y phone won't stop ringing, 100s of emails and all I want to do is lie down amongst green grass. Dp is picking me up for lunch soon & I think maybe we'll head for the park round the corner, now the sun's come out again.

Lots of petty annoyances at my end. Dp is ok, though still drinking more than I like. Scraped the car yesterday against the bumper of a neighbour's van when trying to turn at the bottom of our cul-de-sac - HATE the neighbours who park their huge van at the end despite the Keep Clear markings, making it a very tight turn - and when I complained they claimed it wasn't their van (until other neighbour came out and backed me up). Then said neighbour warned me that suspicious characters had been seen recently hanging around my front door - someone called the police - so now we know we have possible burglars in the area, which has scared dd - and my little boy cat had his second fight with Big Bully Cat and won't go out again. He'd only just got used to the big outdoors and I feel so sorry for him. He's a gentle sort who never scratches or hisses (unlike his sister) and I felt as bad and protective seeing this scuffle break out as if my dd were a tot in the playground again!

Heighho that's my rant for the day, feeling better and now back to work

Ifonlyhewould · 17/04/2007 12:56

Hi Ginned up

Well GUM, the running away fund was doing ok but.... then i saw Loose Women and Carole Mcgiffin was trying out a gel filled bra and it did wonders for her figure so.......... i had a look on the la senza website and found one in the sale for a tenner so...... ive treated myself I need the ego boost!! So the running away fund has deflated but my chest area has inflated

Thats really good news re your DH and the drinking. Lets hope he can/wants to keep it up once he is off the pills. xx

Cashncarry · 17/04/2007 15:09

Ginnnedupmummy - bad news about his leg but good news about his drinking - even if it's under medicated duress

It's down to him as to whether or not he goes back to it. It sounds like you're having a lovely pleasant time when he doesn't drink and you're both miserable when he does so I guess there's his incentive...

I really don't think the drinking is something you have to put up with long-term. It's just down to him as to whether he can prioritise his family over his drink. Just keep reminding him of what a lovely time you have together when he keeps off it, hopefully that will do the trick
