I've got a huge crush on the builder who's currently sorting out the kitchen. He's around the same age as me and he's adorable. I'm married for nearly 3 years and ds is 20mo. How on earth do you get over this sort of thing? Obviously there's no chance I'd do anything about it! But I also can't avoid him at the moment for another week or so.

Loup, yes I'm grateful and rather enjoyed imagining myself in your place last night Grin. Welcome diversion as I've had a torturous crush in a musician for the last year, got it before finding out he's not single and he's got married since damn ! Spoke to him in person a few times, strong chemistry but a no-go (he;s also younger than me). Sigh. So going back to my VP fantasy is so welcome - at least he didn't reject me like the musician (well had to reject but I'll never know what he actually feels) so it's more of a pleasant fantasy.
Especialy now that I know that VP's got style with women! And you made it so vivid that now I feel my on-screen attraction was justified, he sounds very capable Grin. How tall would you he is though?
you know, Loup he's still officially single - and I think 'sticklers for faithfulness' don't fantasise to this extent for years on end with one man! Your DH wd be shocked Grin
No Trumo is so bloody crude, appeals to similar women probably - not a patch on Putin who's subtle yet bold (perfect approach) Shock

Loup, I meant not he's not married you have your chance for that FWB! I'm now imagining him being shown this thread and PM-ing you as he remembers how much he fancied you Grin

LoveforPGTipsMonkey · 04/02/2017 19:23

arrgh 'I meant now' not 'I meant not'!

PidgeyfinderGeneral · 04/02/2017 19:24

@Loup, surprisingly so! I wasn't even that big a fan (in fact nearly the opposite), but he gave me a lovely smile, knew who I was and was utterly charming and keen to chat which I was not expecting.

In other news, I currently have a crush on a security guard at work. I've spoken to him precisely twice but my god, he's lovely, and I am enjoying admiring from afar. Grin

Ok ladies. How do I not act like a massive twat around my work crush? As soon as I see him, my brain turns to mush. He touched me on my back the other day and I was a mess for the whole day. I'm 33 not a teen.

christmaswreaths · 04/02/2017 20:32

I am pleased to see this is normal.. I am 44 married 13 years, four kids..senior job with mainly male colleagues, never ever fancied anyone remotely.. Then this guy appears.. Every time he enters a meeting my heart misses a beat..

I was at a meeting with him all day yesterday and felt rattled all day. I think I am developing a crush...not that I would ever do anything about it but it has really taken me by surprise 😲 I feel like a demented teenager and I am so cross with myself!!

LoveforPGTipsMonkey · 04/02/2017 20:38

TallZoragh you can't! Grin it's taken over you. The only way is not to see him at all = impossible. You can try focusing your gaze on the screen/papers when he speaks to you, but then he might ask why aren't you paying attention ha.

PidgeyfinderGeneral · 04/02/2017 20:54

My crush seems to get deployed in different areas of the building at different times so I never know when I'm going to bump into him. I usually handle it by pretending to look at my phone but if we do make eye contact I go for an impersonal smile and quick 'hi' which is what I do with all the security people who knock around the office.

This thread is great because I was actually feeling pretty stupid about it but it's nice to know I'm not alone!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 04/02/2017 21:47

Hes a doctor Love So I gotta give him my utmost attention. No matter what, I gotta see him and help him if he needs it. Cant let anyone know either. I'll never live it down.

It's the strongest crush I've had in years and awakened things I thought long dead. Gah, stupid men!

LoveforPGTipsMonkey · 04/02/2017 22:49

I'm assuming you are both married? otherwise it's so much easier if you work together rather than a patient, you could go for it.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 04/02/2017 22:55

I'm single, no idea about him.

LoveforPGTipsMonkey · 04/02/2017 23:01

really? why wouldn't you try to find out / show him you like him then? Most of us on here just fantasising because one or both parties are married!
I'm single but unlucky to have crushes on unavailable men! I wouldn't hesitate if I knew the man was available - or semi available (i.e. uncommitted) - life's too short!
Even if you are just not feeling confident, better to try than not to.

MrsGPie1974 · 04/02/2017 23:05

I feel your pain. I had the most unbelievably sexy builder turn up to quote for my renovations. Totally wasn't expecting it! In was looking hideous in my sweaty running gear. I won't be hiring him. Will be far too exhausting having to keep up a facade of perfection if he were around the house all the time. Enjoy your last week of lust. Enjoy the menu but don't eat!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 04/02/2017 23:18

Love, my self esteem is non existent, so even if he was, I still wouldnt believe that he'd be interested. He's lovely and pretty much my type but I dont see it happening.

LoveforPGTipsMonkey · 04/02/2017 23:43

Tall - he may be interested or he may not be, but what aer you losing by gentle flirting or even just developing a friendship? If he is sebior to you - and if he was attracted - he would feel awkward to initiate things because without knowing you ar interested he'd be risking you com0plaining etc. You are not under this risk though! you don't need to be direct at all if you ar not for it, just smile and chat socially, see if he lingers and smiles etc.

LoveforPGTipsMonkey · 04/02/2017 23:44

sorry for typos and missed words!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 04/02/2017 23:45

The gentle flirting will have to wait til tuesday when I'll see him again.

christmaswreaths · 05/02/2017 08:13

If I was single and he was single there would be no holding me back!! Go for it ladies!! In my case both married so the secret is all mine. Would never even flirt as I know better. It's nice to.know that we are still alive inside though and can fancy someone... It's only natural!!
