Good morning ThankGod.
I hope you manage to get some gardening done if the weather behaves!
You have been really busy this morning.

I have walked the dogs and they are currently messing my house up with their dirty feet. My old dog struggled on the way back! I didn't see a sole to speak to on my walk!

I am glad you are sleeping a bit better. The wine probably does help!
What film did you watch?

I am sorry that you have been all on your own without seeing or speaking to anyone since Friday. Can you go out and get a coffee or do a bit of shopping? I find that sometimes the house is all consuming.

My son is here but he wouldn't come to my friends house yesterday for her son's BBQ and I was not happy about that. When I came in he stayed in his room.
He is still in bed now!
I hope you manage to keep busy today. Not long until it is Monday!

Thinking of you. Take care xx

Heel ThankGod. If I was closer I'd come round and help demolish that cheesecake! X

louisatwo · 10/07/2016 14:00

Hush, it's wet and miserable here - still no sign of it brightening up. And much as we love our grown up children they can still be a pain in the arras! I'm going to watch the Wimbledon final and perhaps have some strawberries with a cup of tea - make an effort!

I may also bury myself in a good book later - something that 'takes me out of myself' .
It's gruelling isn't it - I liken this to being seriously ill and in hospital - you have to go through dealing all the symptoms and operations / taking the medication, and then you relapse a bit and it all seems endless, but eventually you start to recover and look around you and you get out and your life has changed - it's never quite the same but bit by bit you become stronger and more positive and after a while you find that you are enjoying things again...
xx

ThankGodItsThursday · 10/07/2016 17:06

Afternoon.
I walked the dog and said hello to two people.
I managed to do an hour in the garden - weeding and cutting back. I couldn't do anymore. My green bin was full. I then sat in the garden and ate a cornetto enjoying the sunshine.
Hush - the film I will watched was called "Hush". It was on Netflix and was ok. I will probably watch another film tonight. There's a glass of wine left in the bottle and I shall have a slice of cheesecake.
I don't mind the evenings too much. It's the daytime that I find the hardest. We would have gone out for lunch, or gone shopping (nice shopping not food) or I'd have cooked a nice lunch. Even when we had only just started dating we saw each other on Sundays. It's odd, for years you just "get through" the week looking forward to the weekend and now it's the other way around. I'm even glad in a way to be back at work full time. Yet only a few months ago I was desperate to reduce my hours even further!

Hushabyemountain98 · 10/07/2016 20:47

Good Evening Louisa,

I am sorry that your weather did not brighten up.
It was the same here. I think the forecast for the week is not much better.
My son didn't come out of his room for ages. I sent him a text to ask him what was going on and he said nothing but something was. I don't want another moody devil in the house! He has gone to the cinema and I will pick him up later. I had to tip my wine back in the bottle!
I hope you enjoyed the Wimbledon final and your strawberries and tea. I watched it too sans strawberries!
You are right that was a good analogy. It is gruelling. I seem to keep relapsing. I hope that I will start to recover soon. So that eventually I can enjoy things again.

I hope you enjoy your book. I must try to get into books again. I did try before but I couldn't concentrate.

I am watching The Help. I have seen it before but I really like it.

I hope you have a nice evening xx

Hello ThankGod,

I am glad that the weather was better your end, so
you were able to do some weeding and cutting back.
Have you switched from magnums to cornettos now?

Funny that you watched a film called Hush!
I hope the one you pick tonight you will enjoy. Along with your glass of wine and your cheesecake.

I am sorry that you find weekends so hard. I know how you feel. We didn't always do a lot but we did go out for a drink or lunch or shopping. It is even TV programmes we always watched that upset me.

I have my counsellor tomorrow. I shall be glad to see her.
We have to try and be strong and believe that life will be good for us again.
We deserve to be happy.

Good night xx

Good morning All,

Well we made it through another weekend!
We could really do with some sun. It is another miserable day weather wise. Not good for July! Where is our summer?

I have walked the dogs. Now I have to do some housework.
I have my counsellor this afternoon which will be good for me!
I hope you all have a good Monday.
xx

Hello Hush, how did it go with your counsellor yesterday?

What are your plans for today?

Hushabyemountain98 · 12/07/2016 16:22

Hello WTAFF.

I hope you are okay?

The counselling went okay yesterday. Plenty of tears though!

Today has not been good as I have been told that my dog has skin cancer. So the prognosis is not good.

I am just pottering around trying to keep busy.

Have a nice evening xx

Oh no Hush - I'm so sorry to hear that about your dog. Everything seems to happen at once doesn't it?

All you can do is keep him as comfortable as possible without suffering. I'm so sad for you.

I'm fine thanks. Just trying to sort out a lot of things in my life and feel a bit overwhelmed!

Hushabyemountain98 · 12/07/2016 17:12

Thank you WTAFF.

I am sorry that you are feeling overwhelmed at the moment.
I know that feeling!

I do not know what to do yet. I suppose I just have to take it as it comes!

Take care xx

Hush, I'm sorry to hear about your dog. Has the vet made any recommendations?

In answer to your question from the other day I eat Magnums at work and cornetto at home.

Keeping busy is the best medicine I find. I am trying to rebuild my life as are all of us on this thread. It's hard and not something I thought I'd have to do but I've also come to realise that I should have made sure I always had a life when we were together instead of making him the be all and end all of my life.

My friend came round last night, we fetched a pizza and had a good chat. She's going to come again and I'm going to a gin tasting event in September with her and some of her other friends. It's on a Sunday which will be great.

I think a bit of sun would cheer us all up. I can't believe it's mid July!

Hushabyemountain98 · 12/07/2016 22:00

Thank you ThankGod.
I haven't spoken to the main vet yet. I was hoping for a call today but it will probably be tomorrow now.

It's nice that you have different tastes in ice creams between home and work. Variety is the spice of life!

I am so glad that you had a good chat and a pizza with your friend last night. Good that you are seeing her again and even better going to a gin tasting event with her and some of her friends. Will be a good way to spend a Sunday.

I hope you are having a nice evening?xx

Hi Hush. Just wondered how you were doing?

Kirk123 · 14/07/2016 00:20

Been in London all week hush and sat to come on and hear about your dog , love and prayers he is ok xxxx

Hushabyemountain98 · 14/07/2016 08:53

Good Morning madame and Kirk,

Thank you for your messages.
I am okay thank you.
I still do not know what I am going to do about my poor dog.
He has to have a couple of stitches out today.
I am not ready to say goodbye to him yet.
I do not think that I am going to have chemo treatment as this will not prolong his life for very long and I do not think it is fair to put him through it.
Yesterday was hard as I met up with my dh so he could see the dogs.

How are you madame? I hope that you are doing okay?

How are you Kirk? I hope that your trip to London was okay. Was it to do with your studies?

I better close and get my day started.

Have a good day xx

Hush if your dog isn't in pain at the moment and chemo won't really do much good and because they are an older dog I would just enjoy the time you have left together.
I think sometimes we agree to treatment for our pets more for ourselves rather than them. Dogs are so loyal and can offer so much comfort it's very hard to think you might lose them.
How did he get on with having his stitches out? Has the vet given you any advice?

Hushabyemountain98 · 14/07/2016 23:04

Thank you ThankGod.
My dog was fine having his stitches out.
I spoke to the vet about treatment etc.
They are getting back to me next week and then when I know all the facts I can make my decision.
I love him so much but I have to put him before my feelings.
I hope that you are okay?
Good night xx

Morning Hush,
So sorry to hear about your dog. Hope that you have a nice weekend with him? It's horrid when they are ill - and well done you for being able to put his needs before your own feelings. That just shows what a fine and compassionate person you are.

xx

Hushabyemountain98 · 15/07/2016 09:23

Morning louisa.
Thank you for you kind e mail.
It is so difficult. I do not know what I am going to do yet.
I just know that I have to do what is right for him not me.

I hope you are okay. Are you busy at the moment?
Do you have any plans for today or the weekend?

We have sun today. I hope you do too.

I better get dressed and take the dogs out.

Have a good day xx

Good morning WTAFF.
It is a lovely day here too.
My dog is about the same. Thank you for asking.
When people see him when I am out walking they still say what a beautiful dog. Even though I think he looks dreadful!
I hope you have a good weekend.

Hello,

The thread is called That Sunday Feeling because the Mumsnetters on my thread do not like Sunday's.

Hello.
It's not a very nice day here! It's been raining and I think we might get a bit more.
My daughter is back from her holidays and is full of a cold. She's currently lying on the sofa reading with our dog stretched out on her legs. I've just made some sausage rolls which we've sampled and we are going to watch a film in a bit.
I'm very glad to have her back home - but I've got to get used to her not being here. It's only approx 2 months now until she leaves for university.
I'm thinking that I might to a bit of redecorating if the house hasn't sold by then. It will give me something to do and freshen everything up.
Have a good day everyone.
