The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Springing Into Some Warmer Weather, Staying Sober Togeher

Mouseface · 30/03/2016 00:05

Hi, tis me, Mouse

Welcome to the Bus. We're delighted to have you here :) Not because if you're new to the Babes you are here for help, but because we welcome every kind of drinker. And for all of the reasons life throws at you.

Those that do drink, those that don't drink and of course those who do but don't want to say just how much..............

We've all had our own personal Groundhog Day , some still are and don't want to remain trapped in the same cycle day in, day out, and some still are and want to be which is fine and why we're here.

To talk, to listen, to just be us, like you are YOU. You never know, one day you might just want to wake up on a different day? :) There's no judging here, no 'sides.

After all, something made you click on and read this :)

Come say hi! We even do Brew & Cake if you're super quick!!

And if you want to see what we got up to in the last thread, have a look RIGHT HERE

And this is where our adventure began, almost six years ago now!!

ALMOST SIX YEARS AGO...........

Bloodybloodyhell · 12/04/2016 21:24

Can you make a cup of tea instead? Eat some chocolate? Or clean your teeth. Beer tastes RANK after toothpaste. Just hold on for a bit longer. But take the beer out of the fridge.

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:24

Haha I feel a bit ratity tonight will

Paffle · 12/04/2016 21:25

I recall having lots of baths in the early days. For me the difficult time was when I got in from work. I used to have a big bath instead. Not so easy with DC I guess.

Also - colouring. I do this to relax and when I'm dieting.

WillAndDisgrace · 12/04/2016 21:27

The kettle is on....I think half of it is boardem....I haven't spoken to anyone today..I can have a whole week like that and only speak to DH when he gets home

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:28

Knitting, I'm going to start knitting again.
I'm not sure of the etiquette here as a newbie but agree. Take the bottle out of the fridge will chat with us, clean the oven, do something else instead.

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:30

I get that, my DP is out 3/4 evenings a week until 10/11pm. Tv is crap and its mind numbingly boring at times!!

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:30

Well done will Brew

WillAndDisgrace · 12/04/2016 21:31

I have a feeling that can of beer is going to be dancing from the cupboard to the fridge and back again a few time in the coming days

Bloodybloodyhell · 12/04/2016 21:33

I don't know the etiquette either, Rarity. And I don't want to be bossy Will, but take the beer out, have a cup of tea - and some chocolate AND some sweets, then clean your teeth. And if you still feel like it, put it back in. And then talk to us some more. FFS don't let boredom make you drink....

WillAndDisgrace · 12/04/2016 21:35

I don't mind you all being bossy, it's just really hard sometimes and I need a reality check. I think im getting a slight cold and still thinking about having a beer...crazy Sad

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:36

I don't think I could have it in the house at the moment. Doesn't matter if it clocks up some miles and does an Irish jig on the way. Keep putting the kettle on.
I have an urge for Trebor extra strong mints! Lol no idea why Confused

WillAndDisgrace · 12/04/2016 21:38

Trebor, too strong for me

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:38

If it was easy we wouldn't all be here.
And it is helping me just to share, and support each other.
Just feel a bit of a fraud as this is my first AF attempt and have no experience!!

ClaretAndBlue30 · 12/04/2016 21:39

I plan to take up knitting too! Just need to open my knitting magazine for beginners...

And I second colouring too...very calming and definitely not doable after a drink!!

will maybe not possible now but do you think tomorrow (when you've not drunk the beer!) would you be able to pour it away?? I am dreadful if I have wine in the house. Makes it a great deal harder in my opinion.

tang I've done juice fasts before...some more successful than others but boy did I feel cleansed afterwards!!!

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:39

Are you a soft mint eater?

ClaretAndBlue30 · 12/04/2016 21:40

Just keep swimming just keep swimming....

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:40

claret if you get stuck holler I can knit Wink

ClaretAndBlue30 · 12/04/2016 21:40

Mints are a great idea actually - and alcohol tastes absolutely vile afterwards.

ClaretAndBlue30 · 12/04/2016 21:41

Thanks rarity I have visions of greatness but at this rate it'll be a miracle if I manage a scarf (for a doll!)

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:42

I love the extra strong ones. After 4 I can barely feel the roof of my mouth never mind want a glass of red wine (poison of choice)!

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:43

I started with children's toys from magazines claret once you've got the basics it's really good fun. The patterns can be a bugger to understand though.
Have you any knit and natter groups by you?

Rarity75 · 12/04/2016 21:44

Have found the mints!! (Rubs hands with glee)

WillAndDisgrace · 12/04/2016 21:45

Polo is my mint of choice Grin

claret DH would not be happy if I did that. We are trying to save money and he wants them to last till the weekend. There's only 4 there (3 now as DH has one) and they are only 3.8 %.

No, I'll be ok tomorrow and have put it back in the cupboard...it will live to dance another day. I keep thinking of it now in different "elf on a shelf" type situations. Grin

It's funny how quick a craving can pass Confused
