Thanks Trills good tips. I'm not a big Facebook user so I find it a bit irritating that I have to use it access another app.

Lacoba66 · 03/01/2016 17:02

Advice needed oh wise ones..

Mr Welshman and me are still chatting, but he has asked if I'm talking to anyone else on the site, I'm not, but what would you make of this? We haven't even met, so I'm a bit Confused. To be honest, I do find it difficult talking to more than one at a time, as it frazzled my brain.

tanyadm · 03/01/2016 17:08

That sounds like quite a full on question from someone you've never even met? If it was a more general "How are you finding online dating" type question, fair enough, but to be as direct as that....

Trills · 03/01/2016 17:11

That's a bit much, isn't it? When you haven't even met yet.

Trills · 03/01/2016 17:12

I'd be tempted to lie and say "oh the odd message here and there". And I am usually against gameplaying. But it's probably better than saying "I can if I want to".

Lacoba66 · 03/01/2016 17:21

Well, what I said was "at the moment it's only you" Grin. So I haven't lied, but I haven't restricted myself!

It did feel a bit full on, especially as when you log in, you can quite clearly see that each other is on-line.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 03/01/2016 17:40

I've just signed up to Ok Cupid and so far have got one message asking if I like 'big black men' and one telling me he 'loves older women' Hmm

N0More314 · 03/01/2016 17:48

Good start then!

Before I changed my settings, I had a few young men contacting me. One of them said to me ''do you want to know what it would be like to sleep with a twenty five year old?". I stupidly replied and said ''i remember". I ended up blocking him, but it was obvious to him that 44 = desperate for any crumb.

N0More314 · 03/01/2016 17:51

Jolly that would be funny. If you and the other lawyer knew each other vaguely through work. Six degrees of separation etc.. It turned out that Bear's xgf and an old high school bf of mine know each other through work and are friends. I nearly died. My heart stopped beating but then I thought, hang on, it doesn't matter. No, it really doesn't.

tanyadm · 03/01/2016 17:52

I'm not having the OKC flood today! Not that I'm envying your experiences!

MyGastIsFlabbered · 03/01/2016 17:52

How do I change my settings? I'm getting messages from youngsters and people miles away from me?

Trills · 03/01/2016 17:55

Opening lines on OKC today have included...

hello,,ure so gorgeous,,may i have the chance to get to know u,,

(my profile SAYS that I care about spelling)

Is this hottie gonna have red wine with me?

(I liked red wine but do not enjoy being called a hottie)

I'm not checking POF at all at the moment. There might be a few messages but I reckon I can still reply to them and say sorry I was away. Because I haven't even gone on the sight since about two days before Christmas.

hottie that's hilarious! Who responds to that? who thinks, oh wonderful, this random internet sprite thinks I'm a hottie.

Mygast something to do with messages.

Might have to investigate CMB. Bumble is rubbish in my area, but I know it's a bit of a fledgling app.

Trills · 03/01/2016 18:12

What is Coffee Meets Bagel? What's its USP?

Good luck Waving !!

N0More314 · 03/01/2016 18:42

I suppose if I run out of men I'll have to get a dating app on my phone. I'd hate to be in the queue at aldi checking to see if I had replies. I like to contain the insanity.

N0More314 · 03/01/2016 18:42

Shit, why does it have to be linked to facebook!!

Trills · 03/01/2016 18:56

You can make a fresh Facebook account with just the info you're willing to put into a dating app, if you'd like.

Lacoba66 · 03/01/2016 19:12

I'm linked to POF, which in my area has been a waste of time and money, but am also on Zoosk, which has been much more productive Grin.

Just had a message from a guy 'Mr Tattoo' I shall call him- very eloquent, but mentioned that his most recent tattoo, was in memory of his son, who had recently died. I seem to attract a lot of 'over sharers'. Or am I being mean?
Waving can you not contact Mr Writer?
Trills I laughed at the 'hottie' message! Suggests an over inflated ego, with nothing else to go with it.
