itsallpoop I think whether DTD moves it to a different level for a man depends on the man. I will however make sure I know what his views on it are before I get naked with him. The guy I am currently meeting occasionally for drinks was very open and said he wasn't looking for commitment or a relationship and that wouldn't change if we DTD. I'm fine with that, but I like to know.
Re the books, they just give an interesting different slant to things. The other book that I think every woman should read is hes just not that into you, that book honestly changed my life

rolandrat glad you're still here
I read the original rules pre marriage and I have to say there are parts that worked. The updated version is less old school.

Lol at drinking and dating.

itsallpoop · 07/12/2015 23:10

Well, just stopped short of DTD the deed with Mr Short, but it was damn hard to tear myself away.

Don't know if either of us want long term, maybe just a FB scenario, but guess that isn't fair on Mr Fireman, who I think might be too much of a gentleman. He commented 'twit twoo, Miss Poop looks mighty fine' on a Facebook photo from the weekend that I was tagged in, so I have been the recipient of many 'caring' texts from friends all day wanting to know who my admirer is clearly dying with laughter.

So I've had twit twoo, and anyhoo - feel I've strayed into a Carry On film - Carry On OLD perhaps!

Morning!

itsallpoop twit twoo made me laugh out loud! I think that is rather sweet! Although my friends would have a field day with that!!!
So date with Mr Short was fun??? Wink

waving tonight I shall be doing the exact opposite. Drinking and snogging. Preferably the latter in copious amounts!

I do however need to find one or two other lightweight dating peeps. Still determined to try and find them via RL. Let's see how that one works out.

Any other dates coming up?

StartWhereYouStand · 08/12/2015 08:37

Hi all.

Lol at the twit twoo - I have not dared add anyone to my Facebook account as my friends would be way too nosy and take the piss mercilessly

My almost date for Thurs (was going for quick drink to break up my late night shopping) has cancelled which is fine as I do actually have Xmas shopping to do. Shame was that he seemed on my wavelength as could hold a decent conversation (albeit by text) and really made me laugh. His photo wasn't great tho so I will go away thinking that he was probably terrible looking and that was a lucky escape.

So onwards and upwards. I have had a v dodgy looking coach driver message me - his pic has him holding some kind of coach-driving awardHmm
Sometimes I wonder what planet these guys are on - not mine that is for sure.

Am contemplating giving Tinder a go for the fun aspect ......that will definitely up the dodgy message count I am sure!!

The design is cute but do you get the impression that most of the people posting on it are about 15? Maybe it's just the first few that came up.

Eeek so I swiped like on a guy on tinder who I have a mutual friend with. He looks like a bouncer but is a marketing manager. He's 36 which is my max age (I'm 29) and he looks like a cheeky chappy kinda man and not really my type. I'm not sure why I clicked like on him tbh! But anyway we have sent about 4-5 messages just general things and he's asked me to meet for coffee on a few days time.
Do I go for it, even though I'm getting no initial vibes or am I wasting everyone's time?!

itsallpoop · 08/12/2015 18:01

Go for it pompster, you might be pleasantly surprised!

sassy - yes, very good; so easily have gone further, get the feeling it could be amazing. He is a fantastic kisser too Grin

Really REALLY want to DTD with him, but don't think it would be long term, we're probably too different. I think he might think he's not good enough, or earns enough, and I can't really imagine him in family-type gatherings. Probably way overthinking this and tbh could put up with it if he's as good in bed as I think he is.

But Mr Fireman is a gentleman.....

Handywoman · 08/12/2015 22:51

Oh poop decisions decisions!!

Got a message on OKCUpid that made me snort tea through my nose - from someone nearby doing a Very good middle-ages Gerard Depardieu impression standing by a lake, looking for someone 'submissive, who meets my needs and doesn't play mind games' hahahaha!!!! I did politely reply and let him down gently!!! Sorry that probably sounds very mean but it was priceless!

Date No4 tomo with Mr Lovely - who certainly knows how to flirt. Hoping the snogging gets better........

Handywoman · 08/12/2015 22:52

Ooh go for it pompster

Smile
TooSassy · 08/12/2015 23:20

pompster go for it

itsallpoop lol!!! Don't ask me for advice. I'd say to indulge with mr short

My date this evening? Well what can I say?
It was a revelation. I got a real insight into the male psyche. Fascinating. I conclude that the books are not at all wrong!!!

Handywoman · 08/12/2015 23:21

Ooh pls share Sassy - please share!!!!!!!!

TooSassy · 08/12/2015 23:35

handy

Summary. He likes me. I like him. He's freaked out. I told him to go sort his shit out and drop me a line when he had stuff figured out.

I have zero tolerance for this bullshit. Man up. Or clear out and make room on the plate for others.

Handywoman · 08/12/2015 23:43

Hahahahaha! Too right!

I luffs you, Sassy

TooSassy · 09/12/2015 00:02

Lol handy thank you

This guy proved that parts of the rules are SPOT on!!! Ignore at your peril ladies! Grin

Oooh I'm loving reading this thread! You all seem to be having such a good time with it all - it's brilliant Grin

This is what it should be all about eh? Just enjoying the ride and seeing what happens.

TooSassy · 09/12/2015 08:11

waving did you drink and snog??? Grin

Tell us more! Was it a good date??

No happy hasn't come back. Hope the date wasn't that awful. Happy are you ok?

fish I agree, this thread is fab

What happened to me?
He's a good looking guy who is used to women falling at his feet / trying to pin him down. I'm doing neither. This seems to have had the impact of making him think I'm seeing gazillions of other people (projection much?) and he is just one in a conveyor belt chain. (I'm not and he's not, but equally that isn't his business).
So he doesn't want anything serious, likes his life as it is, wants me as a friend and then proceeded to try and kiss me. And then says does it help if I say I won't see other people??
My brain started to hurt trying to compute it all so I stopped trying, told him this is all him and high tailed it home. Was absolutely hilarious.
such a waste of a gorgeous body. Grin

Mr Doorman has earned some major brownie points already as I replied saying can I let you know over enxt few days? and he said of course you can Smile I'll be so nervous, I'd be meeting him on my lunch break and would only have 20 mins max, but it'd still be mega scary. My first "date" ever and my first interest after breaking up with ex.........
