Just been on a very very lovely 2nd date.... and now already looking forward to a 3rd Smile

Feeling very very like this Grin

Doughnutsandflapjacks33 · 29/11/2015 08:05

On line escorts cost money, POF is free, I think a lot of guys like the idea of persuading a woman into bed (making them think they are going to get a relationship out of it ), I'm sure there are plenty of women who do this too.

There are plenty of people online who say 'not looking for a relationship or any commitment' which is fair enough. It's obvious what they are looking for but its the ones that say 'looking for a relationship' when actually they just want sex, people end up getting hurt. Which is why you need to be a pretty strong person to do OLD.

At the moment I am only using POF, I have used match before with no success and I have used a local dating site ( went on one date ), I get a lot of messages on POF ( up to ten a day ) but have only spoken to 3 men, one vanished after 2 days, one is Mr Deli, the other sent me photos of sex toys Hmm. Mr Deli is behaving, he did ask for photos, I refused and he was fine about it. I have the 'sending photos' thing, what happened to surprises when you eventually decide to sleep with someone, I hate the thought of knowing someone's body before you get in bed with them.

Doughnutsandflapjacks33 · 29/11/2015 08:06

Oh, and I never message people first, let them come to me, maybe that's where I am going wrong? I guess most of the men I like I feel are out of my league.

niceupthedance · 29/11/2015 08:36

Trills that NYE event sounds tragic!

itsallpoop · 29/11/2015 09:01

You could be me doughnuts, your post sums up my feelings exactly, especially the part about people being out of my league.

I think messaging someone I thought was a 10 and them not responding would dent my already battered ego, so I respond to 5/6s and then when they turn out to be players twats - in my opinion anyway - I think I'm aiming too high and go down a level or two.

It doesn't sound to me as though you're really feeling it for Mr Deli, are you?

Handywoman · 29/11/2015 09:31

Doughnuts you get up to 10 messages per day ? That's loads ! Are they often of the 'hi' variety or are they normally more than that?

I get millions of 'meet me' but ignore those. I only look at people who look at my profile.

Sometimes I will browse a bit. Sometimes I message first.

Feeling very happy after yesterday. Our date started before 6pm and went on to 11:35 when he put me on a train! Felt a bit butterflies in tummy on and off all night. There was no kiss at the end because he has a cold sore but he made it very clear he likes me a lot. I am hoping I'll see him again Tues eve for date no.3.

On the spur of the moment I decided to register with eHarmony. I'm not planning to subscribe because I can't afford it. Am I right in thinking that matches can contact me? If they do, will I need to subscribe in order to reply?

GinAndSonic · 29/11/2015 11:16

I haven't been on here for aaaaaaaages. Have a coffee date in a couple of days with a guy I met on tinder.

Handywoman · 29/11/2015 11:29

Ooh coffee date! Love those. So much easier. Hope it's a lovely one!

GinAndSonic · 29/11/2015 12:29

Me too Handywoman he seems nice enough, so here's hoping.

Doughnutsandflapjacks33 · 29/11/2015 20:53

Handy, the messages range from 'hi, do you want to chat' to 'hi sexy, do you want to hook up' Grin, most are polite with their first message, I have one guy that messages me every time I'm online but I have never replied to him ( not really my type ), I have had 5 messages today, none are really my type, a couple are younger than me ( I prefer older men ) and the other 2 are not pleasing on the eye Wink.

I am seeing Mr Deli tomorrow, will see how things go, if it doesn't go well I have a few others I can message Wink

Handywoman · 29/11/2015 22:24

Ok now I need help.

My lovely 2nd date is up for date No.3 - on Tuesday!

My question is... Is it best to go for dinner or too soon? Would we be better off just going for drinks so we can drink enough to get the courage to actually kiss ?

Oh wise dating gurus please help!!!!!!

Handywoman · 29/11/2015 22:25

Good luck Doughnuts for tomorrow.

sparklesnpearls · 30/11/2015 07:43

Handy woman dinner with drinks be good! Cos if you just drink you might get too drunk n go further than kissing!!

I've got date number 2 with Mr libra today, we going for a bit of lunch and I've been told I'm getting a big juicy snog Blush

itsallpoop · 30/11/2015 10:10

Do I go for date number 2 with someone I'm not really feeling it for? Nice enough guy, but didn't feel any spark.

Handywoman definitely dinner and drinks - just drinks for me led to me DTD far too soon Blush regretted it ever since.

Fingers crossed for doughnuts and sparkles Smile

Doughnutsandflapjacks33 · 30/11/2015 14:49

Met Mr Deli for lunch and I'm just not feeling it, he seems like a mpnice person, fun and kind but we are very different, he doesn't share my interests, he likes city breaks and I like country/beach breaks, different taste in films and music, he's not a animal lover and he's not into healthy eating ( he's a pie man and I'm a salad girl ), now how to let him down gently as he seems to think everything is great Hmm.

Not sure if I will continue with OLD of wait until after Christmas.

Handywoman · 30/11/2015 16:16

itsallpoop maybe don't write him off? Takes me more than one meet (with all the nerves and weirdness) to know about the spark. Was it a long date or quick drink/coffee? Maybe date 2 might be a decider. Do you like him?

Doughnuts Ho hum it's a numbers game. I don't think shared interests is compulsory but if you think it's a no-go just message asap, forget about him and move on. Sounds like you could do with a break from OLD?

Doughnutsandflapjacks33 · 30/11/2015 16:57

I will probably take a break though I have had a few messages today from normal looking men Grin but tbh I don't know if I can be bothered with it during the run up to Christmas, I do have a party to go to in a couple weeks, will feel a bit odd going on my own but maybe I will meet someone there? I'm not really convinced that old is the way to meet your soul mate, so far I have just met a buch of men that are obviously single for a reason Grin

sparklesnpearls · 30/11/2015 20:57

Date went well, we had a snog in the car!! Wasn't very romantic but nice a the same.

Date 3 is planned for him to come to mine for a takeaway. Think he hoping for leg over after his 7 year draught BlushConfused

Handywoman · 30/11/2015 23:35

Date no.3 for me and lovely guy. Going for a meal tomo evening. Looking forward a bit too much to seeing him. If there is no snogging tomorrow I'll be really disappointed as I won't be able to get out for a while for a next date (got dc the next 2 weekends and best friend's birthday) then it's work Xmas parties.

Oh please let it happen!!!!!!!!

Justaboy · 30/11/2015 23:35

7 years!, how the hell can a man last for that long!?

Handywoman · 30/11/2015 23:36

sparkles ahem.... will you?

itsallpoop · 30/11/2015 23:52

handy it was a drink of the non alcoholic type, and I had just been to a late meeting, then got lost trying to find the pub, so maybe I was hoping for too much.

He's been a gentleman though, three/four texts a day, nothing heavy, and that suits me.

Have agreed to a meal tomorrow night - also have a date with a fireman on Saturday something about a uniform who seems to be relatively normal.

In my short time OLD I've made some mistakes, reading another thread about being ghosted helped, so many words of wisdom on there.

I do hope you get your snog handy, and am also wondering about your intentions sparkles Grin

doughnuts you never know about Christmas parties - all that mistletoe and bottles of prosecco.....

Handywoman · 01/12/2015 09:47

Ah thanks poop good luck for tonite, perhaps alcohol will make things more relaxed.

I actually woke up feeling rank with earache and sore throat - but am drugged up and not letting it get in the way of a hot date!!! Is that bad form?

What am I like Shock

Have a nice evening poop

MrsRolandRat · 01/12/2015 10:22

Hi

Please can I join your dating thread?

I've been single for about 20 months now. Have a dd who's 2.

On tinder and pof and apart from a select few dates everyone I go on I just don't feel any chemistry with these chaps.

However that said I keep going on them. Had a few dates recently and they turned out to be vertically challenged. Have a soft spot for tall men!
