Ok so dinner is over with, dp got here early so I'm going to chill out with the kids for half an hour and then force myself out the door for a head clearing walk.

Fresh sheets and a book tonight sounds lovely. I can't remember the last time I read properly, I'm usually too tipsy from the alcohol

ummm...I think that something nice may have happened today. Life has been shitty McShitty due to the school ds attends (ds is generally HARD work and school has really let us down). So I've been in a very bad place for quite some time and I think that maybe a good thing has happened to me.

It's not OFFICIAL so can't say any more but I hope it all come off. ooo err!

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies! Sorry I haven't posted since Sat morning, been keeping myself busy. I managed to do a Saturday night curry and not drink a drop, which is an achievement for me. Especially as DP said I was being boring for not joining him having a drink!!

After after a couple of days off, I'm already back at the "I want some wine, one glass won't hurt" mentality God I am a nightmare. On the other hand, all this talking about chocolate buttons is making me want those. Perhaps I'll buy a big bag for myself to scoff tomorrow night

Lucy how's it going? Clean sheets, bath and book sounds excellent. I am about to watch Glee on the laptop with dd. Lets have an AF one together (raises mug of tea in salute). Well I think I have a shiny new job. The details are being worked out,but I just got an email which kind of sort of confirms it (I'm fighting the - but you're not good enough voice) It's only a part time role but I think I'd like it.

Isinde thankyou for the offer of ironing lol.. Hope I don't come over as smug as I really want to crack this.. On day 7 now and no alcohol.. Finished my tablets which means I could drink but I am going to carry this on as I feel so much better in myself. For the first time in ages I sleep and wake up with no fuzzy head.. I still think of the wine bottle I have in the cupboard but it's almost like it is a source of strength to just look and shout at it I don't need you!!! Going to a concert on Thursday which will be hard but hopefully I can resist. The other thing I have found that helps is going out for a walk early evening but making sure it is somewhere far enough away that I have to drive there.. Good luck everyone with this battle... We can smash it x

Ma, you will be amazing in your 'new' role. It is scary to have faith placed in you if (like me) you have limited faith in yourself but it can be a really great thing in instilling self belief. You will be so brilliant and its great you have lovely boss lurking in the background

Thanks for checking on me, lovely Spanna. Am ok, still a bit wobbly, be it the weather or whatever. Day 188 and constant vigilance required at the moment - really feel I could slip, didn't expect this by now. But I don't want to put any of the newer posters off - don't get me wrong, the benefits of not drinking obviously far outweigh the grey fug of a constant hangover, so don't be deterred. I was going to say it's been an awesome journey, but I still can't be doing with having a 'journey' at my time of life (or ever). Hang in there, babes.

funny old day at work some of me oldies are getting less able to do stuff for themselves and it's really heartbreaking to see their frustration

I reckon it's Day 100 tomorrow fuck! My original target nearly done What I semi-think about is, sprinting down to the coop and finally being able to buy a bottle of procesco that they seem to have had on 'special' for blinking ages. BUT I am not going to do that. fucking tempting though. Some days are good and some it's a white knuckle ride and a fight with WW. It's taken me ages to type this, I've served dinner, eaten mine Sober is so much better for me. One day at a time.....
