Hey, I'm Mouse Smile

This is 'Gerald', our trustworthy, non judgemental Bus, full of a variety of posters who have travelled long and far, or even just joined us a few stops ago.

This is a place where you can be who YOU want to be. 24/7, 365. This lovely place is just like your best friend, there's no slagging off, no judging, just us. Smile

Drinking or not, embarrassed, fed up of the way things are, or just lonely of living the way drinking makes you do, come and take a peek and see what you think.....

THIS THE LAST THREAD WE HAD

AND THIS IS WHERE THE BUS WAS BUILT, WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

We can't wait to meet you, we won't bite! Well, unless you ask very nicely. Wink

Take good care until we see you. :) xx

Where the heck are you off to indie?

aliasjoey · 05/07/2015 10:16

Aww thanks guys. We've made up now (like I said, we're up and down...)

Technically, I insulted him first because I suggested he didn't want to become "mutton dressed as lamb" to which he replied "better than mutton dressed as mutton" which I took to mean he thought I already dressed that way... Okay it's a very subtle nuance which a mere man couldn't understand. Grin

And it may also have something to do with my own lack of self-esteem, and conviction that deep down I am a crappity wife... It's all very deep and mixed up, but anyway I got him being nice to me for the rest of the evening Smile

blondeandstripey · 05/07/2015 11:32

Good morning everyone ... Managed to get through yesterday without any drink.. Just litres of lime and soda Lol and a good book that kept me occupied.. Day 5 today got to keep going x

lookingforhope · 05/07/2015 12:52

Well done in Day 5 Blonde. Dull day of tidying up and ironing here.... No booze though. Got a very sociable week coming up but not drinking today, tomorrow or Wednesday .... God, I hate bloody housework AngrySadConfused

venusandmars · 05/07/2015 13:16

alias mutton is much underrated in favour of tasteless young lamb. Did you know that there is a Mutton Renaissance campaign which promotes the goodness and the flavour of the meat. A wee bit of skinny lamb is ok for a light supper, but for a meltingly delicious tagine or curry, then hogget or mutton is the real deal.

And if your dh is giving you any more trouble, let him know that apparently castration improves the taste of mutton even more Grin Grin

venusandmars · 05/07/2015 13:22

looking am I wrong or do you not have 5 people in your house? So allocate something to each person - 5 x 30 minute housework tasks and you have 2.5 hours of work done in an instant.

And ironing.... but two more irons, and two more ironing boards and 3 of you can watch a half hour programme together while ironing. One and half hours ironing done in an instant. I bet you can get irons / ironing boards on ebay / freecycle for next to nothing - and then keep them in the shed.

Oh and first person to take the housework task get the nicest jobs (put them each on a piece of paper so people can choose). And first person to get onto the ironing gets to grab the best iron, the best board, and the easiest pile of ironing - and to choose the programme to watch.

dementedma · 05/07/2015 16:23

Well done blonde that's good going.
Like your theory Venus but in reality.......Hmm
Actually dh has done the dishes and pegged the washing out today. I have had coffee with a friend, stripped and re-made the bed, done two lots of dishes (where tf do they all come from), done the ironing and got the dinner prepped and in the slow cooker. Also had time to have a bath and read the paper so a pretty lazy day on the whole......its great when the kids are older!!!!

lookingforhope · 05/07/2015 16:26

Wow, love the idea Venus, but my family are bone idle despite my nagging (though WB erroneously believes he does a lot because he used to cook the kids tea and wash up when I was at the office). Thankfully they are all out atm and I have swerved a visit to MIL. DD on PGL weekend and DS at friend's. And there are only 4 people in my house, though they make enough mess for a small army ....

dementedma · 05/07/2015 16:37

Hey hope how u doing my friend? It's great when the house is quiet isn't it? WB is glued to the computer and Ds is in his tiny room with his pal, an x-box, 2 laptops, headphones, recording and editing device and a lot of cables! I have no idea what they are up to but there seems to be a lot of hilarity. Probably creating a teen porn channel or something! I have just heard him shout "Noooooo! Not the fish.......!" followed by helpless giggles.

Good luck isinde !

lookingforhope · 05/07/2015 23:58

Isinde you are not an arse, that was an inspirational post. And you will be fab tomorrow. They hired you for this swanky Swiss gig because it is you they want. So wishing you luck, but you don't need it. You will be just brilliant because you are you. I mean don't kill any rabbits on the way or anything but otherwise, no worries! SmileGrinWink

lookingforhope · 06/07/2015 00:04

Hey Ma, I'm bloody Cinderella here, spending the day sorting washing brings out the martyr in me. But in bed now watching Dexter on laptop while WB watches world cup downstairs. My favourite serial killer Grin. Will look out for directorial debut by your ds on YouTube, a dodgy fish video you think? As long as he isn't exploiting Barrie.....

LucyBabs · 06/07/2015 02:10

Room for a little one? Not sure I qualify but my drinking has got way out of control most definitely feel a dependence on it. Only drink in the evenings once young dc are in bed but think about those bottles of wine from early morning. My relationship with my dc is me being impatient and snappy. With dp I barely speak to him Sad
I am also dealing with bereavement and pnd.

I don't know how I got here and dread having to give up alcohol forever.

spanna41 · 06/07/2015 05:33

Isinde Good Luck darling Flowers you will be fine my lovely, because you are a Star xxx

Welcome Lucy you're in the right place. Well done for posting Smile you will get lots of support on this lovely bus Smile

Waves to everyone of you x

Lulioli · 06/07/2015 13:08

Hi everyone! Well I ve started the day doing some reading around Alcoholics Anonymous and wondering if that might be another way of finding support. Anyone here had experiences of these meetings?

dementedma · 06/07/2015 13:44

indie I bet you rocked it and am well jel of you being in such a fabby place.
lucy welcome. Your post will be familiar to many of us. Fasten your seatbelt.
Yo spanna how goes it?
hope any tips from your serial killer viewing to use on WBs?

LucyBabs · 06/07/2015 13:52

Thank you ladies Smile Already I am having an internal argument about not drinking tonight. I have that familiar ache in my stomach. I am weighing up the pros and cons. On the one hand not drinking tonight will help me be more productive tomorrow. It'll save money that I can spend on the dc.
I won't be as snappy with them either.

BUT I want to drink tonight Sad I like 9pm when I sit down, open the bottle, turn on the TV and just relax.
OK I need to distract myself and not buy any alcohol, maybe I'll pick up a non alcoholic drink when I go shopping later. I can relax with that tonight and go to bed early. Feeling anxious now!

Lulioli · 06/07/2015 14:14

Lucybabs - hi! Just wanted to say I have that similar dialogue with myself but I ve found that just sitting down with any drink (tea, coffee, water) in front of the TV at 9pm relaxes me! It's not the actual wine, more the thought of it. It's just the build up to the evening when the kids are out of the way. Is there something else you can do at 9pm to break the 'habit'? Have a shower, call a friend, etc? Are you able to stay out of the shops today? Temptation to visit the wine aisle might be too much? Good luck x

LucyBabs · 06/07/2015 14:41

Thanks Lulioli yes the build up to bedtime is when I feel most anxious.

Unfortunately I have to do a food shop today but I think if I can avoid buying at the supermarket then I won't get a chance later to buy any alcohol.

I think I'll get out for a walk when my dp gets here at 7 and then shower, a peppermint tea and bed

lookingforhope · 06/07/2015 16:41

Hey lucy - post on here if you want a distraction. I will make sure to log in around 9.00pm and post some words of encouragement.

For me a bath, bed and book helps - as does eating a treat I would normally swerve because of the calories (seems I don't care about calories in wine Hmm which is clearly stupid, especially as wine then makes me crave cheese on toast!) So you can even eat a whole Terry's Chocolate Orange and know it's less calories than a bottle.

Ma, sharp tools, and line the room in clingfilm before you cut up the body to avoid telltale blood spatter. Clean up thoroughly afterwards. TBH it's probably the housework aspect that has stopped me up to now. I think psychopaths have to be a bit OCD with the cleaning.

Isinde how did it go today?

Mouseface · 06/07/2015 17:45

Hey, tis me, Mouse

I'm every so sorry for not being around, I've missed lots of new Babes! Welcome to you all :)

Life has been hectic in my head as well as in real life. I'll update as soon as I can but I'm going to set up the new thread so that's one less thing to do! Grin Grin Grin

Anyway, it's time I got another few things ticked off my list!

I'll try and read back and update but I will need a pen and paper or a PA for that!!! Grin

See you all later, much love,

Mousey xxx
