Can I come in? I've recently relapsed, I don't have anyone I can talk to in RL - I spent 4 hours crying on the AA helpline yesterday. Everyone here seems so nice.

It will sound like I'm tooting me own horn here but you are right, Paradise, everyone on here just lovely. Feel safe and post and away knowing we've all been there, are there, and some are on their way back and making sobriety their bitch (as I heard in a movie a few days ago!).

I'm mighty proud. Didn't run yesterday as it was very, very hot. But two of my running babes and I had a spontaneous picnic at one of the beautiful lakes near my house and it was exactly what my breaking heart needed!
I had one, one glass of white wine.

Afternoon team.... had a relapse here, went to meet an old friend yesterday and we were drinking - only meant to have one glass but we ended up having a right heart to heart and it proved very triggering for me.

Going to try to have another AF week until next Thursday when have another night out with old friends planned. Though don't want to overdo it then either. Life is much simpler without drink. I have realised my trigger is relationship with WB - rowing with him or talking about it to friends. He really is a misery. Friend yesterday is going through similar issues (she lives overseas though and was on a brief visit home) and a bit further down the line than me. She has told him to go and they are separated, but he won't leave as is another cocklodger who can't afford his own place. It sounds awful. I get so depressed at the thought of spending the rest of my life alone or with someone who despises me. And then the Wine Witch comes calling...

Meant to be working from home on a project today but spent the afternoon lying on the couch instead. I cannot bring myself to care about any of it after the way we've been treated. I feel OLD today

Good evening all .. Day 2 and I doing well. Have discovered that lime and soda water in a tall glass with ice and a slice is helping me out lots.. Doesn't stop me from thinking about the vino but I am determined to do this for me and my body... The weekend will be tough but am lining up loads of things to do to keep busy... Thankyou for being here , it helps to post and stay focussed knowing that I made the first step in telling you all

Can I get on bus? Hubby left me and girls Xmas and resulted in wine and vodka evenings once they go to bed! But had a few embarrassing moments when not eaten and got pissed quick. Need to stop it and realise I am better off and so are my girls. Love this chat room.......doesn't make me feel alone ????

If looking for a soft drink there is a fabulous thing called Rose lemonade made by a company called Endemans or some such. Waitrose stock it and it is divine, not sickly sweet. I have some in the fridge. This is why I am drinking wine, obviously!!!!!!!
I got my scan results and all seems to be well. It's just menopause shit.

They didn't!My cervix of steel resisted all incomers so in the end they resorted to an internal ultrasound. They put a condom on the probe thingy. Most fun I've had in a long time......
Board of directors met today. I will find out tomorrow what they decided

Hi haven't been on to keep up with this thread but just wanted to come and say that this week ive managed to drink very little wine !
I finished a bottle (2 small glasses) a can of course light and 2 bottles of koppaburg cider - that's been all week so far !
Normally it would have been a full bottle a night so I'm really pleased - have noticed the difference in the mornings as well - such a difference not being hungover .

Tomorrow I have the girls round - they all love wine too so I doubt very much I'll be able to abstain

But... Progress definitely made ! Xxx
