Hello, tis me, Mouse

Welcome to the Bus. It's a Bus full of drinkers, non-drinkers, occasional slurpers, sneaky sippers, we're all a very different bunch but we ALL have the same thing in common.

Alcohol.

We all have a story or two to tell, we have all been through some terrible times, some more than others and we all have our reasons for drinking or even not. Smile

The one true wonderful thing about this Bus is that we don't do judging!! We're all on a even playing field, no matter what has brought us to this thread.

So, if you'd like to talk, then talk. If you want to lurk and see how we work for a while, that's cool too :)

The Bus is never full, there's always is room for YOU.

And, if you'd like to see what started this off, amost good 5 years ago now, have a look at A TRULY AWESOME HEARTFELT THEAD HERE

And our last thread is just here too for those who would like some more history THIS IS WHERE WE'VE JUST BEEN

Hope to see you soon :) xxx

Well done on day 5 Ma, yay indeed for the anti-biotics Smile

Welcome buffalo, so glad you have come aboard Smile

joey good luck for your appointment tomorrow babe, maybe there will be some results to discuss? Work is definitely a big source of stress right now, the expectation of understanding a load of new technical stuff instantly is a big pressure. There is a learning curve that takes time and is often frustrating, here have some Flowers

Spanna windy miller not windy bottom! You remember the fellow with the windmill in trumpton? I will let you know if I sell anything outlandishly expensive Grin. Enjoy your day off tomorrow peanut x

Hands mmm a cornetto, that has gone straight onto my grocery list.

hope how was your day lovely?

I have the pleasure of a smear tomorrow so that is nice Hmm

Night babes, sleep tight xx

lookingforhope · 22/04/2015 00:49

Beaches good luck with the smear tomorrow (I am such a wimp over them, sure I must be overdue one and need to check!)

Buffalo welcome aboard. Look forward to getting to know you. You are amongst friends here...

Hands - big hugs to you babes. Your son sounds lovely, I hope my ds will confide in me when he is at Uni, shows what a good mum you are. I do hope it all works out Flowers

Fevvers had no idea you had buffalo as neighbours. I just have squirrels, pensioners, and a vile couple next door who have no manners and a permanently parked skip full of crap. Rather jealous, can I move in with you? (starts looking for passport)

Ma, swap jobs with me? (no, to be honest I can't wish my job on you babe, you are a friend. Just a teeny bit [jealous] of all the lovely men.) Load of middle aged greys in suits where I work... (for now)

Sweet just tell us what the dog is called before I go mad!!! Last guess... Goober (from Goober and the Ghost Chasers, if anyone remembers that) or ... Soup Dragon. Or, erm, Willo the Wisp. Moomintroll? Clanger? Crystal Tips? Alistair? Fat Tulip? Oh, I give up, just tell us!!!! Grin

Day 1 done. Again. Tiny bit proud cos I meet a friend from another office after work as she was visiting and we went to a swanky wine bar and I ordered water and then black coffee. Normally I would think 'oh, day 1 can start tomorrow, sod it,' especially as we were partly meeting to commiserate over shitty work situation, which isn't getting any better, but for once I didn't. She had a white wine and then Changed Her Drink to Lime and Soda!!!! Shock Without any apparent angst. Confused She wasn't even driving! And I thought that if I'd had the wine I would not have been enjoying the sunshine and conversation, I would have been eyeballing her glass, wondering why she wasn't drinking as fast as me and desperate to order another. She didn't even blink when i ordered the water either. It really is a different experience for some people.

Going to read back properly tomorrow, so sorry not to NC all but will catch up. xxx Wasted a lot of tonight reading a thread called 'Nastiest Celebs' which I think is over on AIBU. Consensus is that Anthony Head is lovely, Gregg Wallace is a twunt. I have met many, many celebs and VIP sorts, but didn't want to join in and out myself as don't like to venture off this thread too often. However, now worried that I am one of a minority who have not met Anthony Head. Must redress this. Night all x

fevversbetterout · 22/04/2015 02:48

Morning babes! Well done Hope. Yes, slather on your mozzy repellent and come on over. Buff, will you join me for an AF day? The ladies are hiding behind a coconut tree, but here they are this morning....

Rubyredlips · 22/04/2015 06:43

Rubyredlips · 22/04/2015 06:47

Oh dear just read back and noticed I said 'sorry not had time to post recently not really had time' Grin.

SweetLathyrus · 22/04/2015 07:18

Beaches, I did call pup that, rhymes with 'wiggly', which he is!

Will be back later to NC, got a pe kit to find.

HandsThatDoDishes · 22/04/2015 07:40

Hi ladies. Feeling very ashamed for giving in to the ww so easily. I feel I've let myself (and you!) down. DS rang last night to say he and his gf are very confused and don't know what to do. The whole thing's a mess and I need to support him 100% and getting pissed and feeling sorry for myself is not the way to do it. So today I will not be drinking. Good luck to Fevvers and Buffalo on your day 1. Hope I spend far too much time reading threads like that (can't believe Floella Benjamin is anything but lovely)! Oh and well done on your booze free drink with your friend! Beaches good luck with the smear! Sweet and Ma thanks for being so kind. Have a lovely day babes. Lots of love and hugs xx

spanna41 · 22/04/2015 07:45

Bing Bong Morning Campers Smile

Day 23 !!!!! Day off and the sun is shining, that makes me happy. Taken pooch for a sunrise walk along the beach. I do like a breath of sea air it does the power of good.

Beaches very freudian slip on my behalf Blush of course it's Miller not Bottom, I knew that Hmm I love the Trumptons, one of my favourites as a child! Hope smear not too bad today. How are those face muscles from all that smiling? How often do you have to work?

Hope well done on the water and coffee front. I know, it always amazes me that people aren't like us. I cared so much about my lions share and how dare someone have more than me Shock I'm meeting a friend for lunch today, but she knows that I'm AF and serious about it. She is someone that I would usually have a boozy lunch with and she has been very persuasive in the past, 'just one glass it won't hurt' (One!! I'd think, if I'm gonna drink it has to be my fair share!!) Have a good day lovely x

Ma Day 6 Flowers

Joey good luck with Doc today x

Fevvers loving the Buffalo, beautiful. Where are you? (you've probably already said but must have missed it) Have a good day lovely.

Baby you ok honey? x

Sweet come on babe put me out of my misery. I need to know pups name!!! Have a good day darling, gorgeous sunshine x

Fox how you doing?

April have a good day lovely x

So many of you to remember and my memory's shot to shit! Sorry not to name call you all. Hugs to you all and sending all strength to those of you who are struggling. Over and out for now xxxx

spanna41 · 22/04/2015 07:56

Hands you have nothing to feel ashamed about and you've not let any of us down! Worry not. Have a good day and try to be kind to yourself Smile

SweetLathyrus · 22/04/2015 09:23

Spanna see the video I posted and Beaches got it at the top off the page. Have a lovely day off.

Chigley

SweetLathyrus · 22/04/2015 09:38

Got that all wrong,

Grin Isinde

Khalisi · 22/04/2015 09:49

Grin Grin Grin
isinde!!!

Good morning, Babes!

It's a lovely name, Sweet! Why is DS embarrassed?!
Hallelluja!!! Hopefully I can sleep through tonight!

So much happened on the bus last night!

Hands Flowers babe. You really should be proud that DS still talks to you! I used to work at a uni and I can tell you, not many young adults have such relationships with their parents.

The Goddess is great! fevvers REAL BUFFALOES?! Or is it buffalos? (can't spell)

spanna!!! DAY 23!!! Grin Grin How is that glow coming along?!

I hear you, Hope. Had three glasses of red last night. Blush
When I got up to go to bed I was beating myself up thinking, 'why the hell couldn't you just have stopped after one?!'
Since I rarely drink more than 2 now and almost never during the week, I have a hangover!
I have no idea who Anthony Head is! Or Greg Wallace, for that matter! Not googling.
Are you still running, babes?!

Later, Babes!
xxx

HandsThatDoDishes · 22/04/2015 09:59

Thanks Spanna and Khalisi Smile. Will not drink today. Day 1 (again). This lovely sunshine is helping me feel more positive Smile xx

lookingforhope · 22/04/2015 13:29

Hands you have nothing to feel bad about my love. Sit next to me on the bus today - we can put our shades on and enjoy the sunshine with some sparkling water or whatever takes your fancy.

Was thinking, can you go down to see your ds this weekend at Uni? I think you will feel better for seeing him and his gf face to face, it can be so hard to help over the phone. Or maybe they can come to you for a couple of days? Big hugs to you all. Oh dear, my ds is almost 15 and seems so young. Hard to think of them at Uni, they are so grown up in some ways, and so young at the same time... Flowers

Khalisi did not run during my boozy binge (would have fallen over!) but got up today and put on running gear, then ended up gardening instead. But still exercise right? Then realised the overgrown forest I call a garden was beyond me and probably has wild animals living in it, and phoned a gardener friend I've not seen for years to ask if he still did that line of work. Well, not only does he do it, but he immediately said he'd come round this afternoon. The problem is, he is seriously gorgeous and I have had a crush on him for years, so am now sat with dye on my roots about to jump in the shower for his arrival. Ridiculous I know, he doesn't fancy me but could not face another human, let alone one that looks like a Viking God, in my smelly sweat pants and with greasy hair. So the run is postponed for tomorrow, when I will take ds to school, run, mow the lawn, shower, pop into work for a couple of hours to check what's happening (not good news!) then rush home, cook dinner and then take ds to training for a couple of hours.

Because I am a lazy sod who does nothing according to wankbadger Angry

Right, must go and shower. Day 2. feeling a bit better

Love to all of you

and Chigley the dog of course Grin

Khalisi · 22/04/2015 14:59

oooh! a (viking god) gardener! Yummy! Grin
So you took care of your own pruning before letting him loose in your 'garden', hope?!
Grin Grin Grin

aliasjoey · 22/04/2015 15:44

Chigley?! I've never heard of a children's programme called Chigley maybe it was after I was a young 'un, my era was Worzel Gummidge and Crackerjack.

Just to confirm how old I am, the doctor has said she's sure I'm menopausal - it doesn't show up on a blood test, but all other tests have come back normal - she's given me HRT. I intend to start sprouting chin-hairs and whacking people with my walking stick any moment Grin I really hope the HRT kicks in soon

looking so you have a big enough garden to conceal a wankbadgerbody in? Take some tips from ma on "where to hide your recently murdered WB"

SweetLathyrus · 22/04/2015 16:34

Will you start to wear purple, Alias?

That's the one, Isinde Grin I was born in 1971.

fevversbetterout · 22/04/2015 16:35

Isinde I think I am the oldest. I'll raise you seven chin hairs, a wart and several liver spots.

SweetLathyrus · 22/04/2015 17:42

How about grey pubes, Fevver?!

fevversbetterout · 22/04/2015 18:17

Dunno Sweet can't find them under my big fat belly. Any sort of nonsense might be going on down there and I wouldn't have a clue....

HandsThatDoDishes · 22/04/2015 18:22

I get Chigley, Trumpton and Camberwick Green mixed up. Which one had Hugh, Pugh and Barney McGru? Can't get that bloody "Time goes by ..." song out of my head now. I was born in the 60's does that make me the oldest? Just out to buy my Tena Ladies!
