Hello, tis me, Mouse

Welcome to the Bus. It's a Bus full of drinkers, non-drinkers, occasional slurpers, sneaky sippers, we're all a very different bunch but we ALL have the same thing in common.

Alcohol.

We all have a story or two to tell, we have all been through some terrible times, some more than others and we all have our reasons for drinking or even not. Smile

The one true wonderful thing about this Bus is that we don't do judging!! We're all on a even playing field, no matter what has brought us to this thread.

So, if you'd like to talk, then talk. If you want to lurk and see how we work for a while, that's cool too :)

The Bus is never full, there's always is room for YOU.

And, if you'd like to see what started this off, amost good 5 years ago now, have a look at A TRULY AWESOME HEARTFELT THEAD HERE

And our last thread is just here too for those who would like some more history THIS IS WHERE WE'VE JUST BEEN

Hope to see you soon :) xxx

ma will you just tell them it's an emergency - someone's life is at risk! (ie. your DHs if you end up killing him...)

dementedma · 09/04/2015 16:21

Lol joey. Seriously, I'm ok. But I will keep trying to get one. You can't book one in advance any more, have to play telephone bingo on the day
DH has just had a bad report from the diabetic clinic and has 3 months now on new medication to get it under control or he goes onto Insulin injections. This translates as " I'm going to lose my job, I'm dying, I'm going to have my feet/legs amputated, life isn't worth living " etc etc. The fact that there are hundreds of thousands of diabetics leading full lives is immaterial of course....Angry

Fairenuff · 09/04/2015 16:30

Going to sit in the sun and play with Pup

All I can say to that is it's a good job you have a pup and not a puss Grin

dementedma · 09/04/2015 17:04

Sniggers at faire

fevversbetterout · 09/04/2015 17:25

Hi Ma, was hoping we could go into further detail re: hunky shouldered chaps, while i scattered petals of bouganvillea, jakaranda and other exotics that Sweet could advise us of. My ears have wilted down like an old donkey....So if I have to be practical...if your old man is type two, could he not eat less carbs and do a bit of exercise? (if he is type one, apologies, but you said he's not requiring insulin injections yet). Is there a diabetic nurse around who could help him adapt and survive? (And give you a break from listening to his woes?)

fevversbetterout · 09/04/2015 17:42

Ma, would you be offended if I imagined you as a skinnied down, (only slightly) Scottish Mae West?

fevversbetterout · 09/04/2015 17:52

I picture sweet as a young Agatha Christie.

But with yards of pre raphaelite hair.

SweetLathyrus · 09/04/2015 18:43

Grin Fevvers I do have a hat like that!

I managed to do nothing but sit in the sun today (oh and a mid-afternoon nap), feeling much better now. I think I'm probably a bit pre-menstral, I didn't sleep well last night an I have eaten every bloody carb in the house.

Faire what are you like! I only play with Puss on the sofa, and I keep my fluffy bunny locked up Grin.

Khalisi I giggled at the thought of you declaring you 'Babedom" to your running leader.

Welcome to the bus, Venusspecimen, and welcome back Lonnika.

Joey are you feeling any better now?

dementedma · 09/04/2015 18:48

Yes fevvers he could but that would be far too easy and less of a crisis. By the way, I'm not Scottish but live here. What did Mae West look like? Did she have purple hair?
Believe me I would far rather think about hunky military chaps than miserable git DH!

aliasjoey · 09/04/2015 19:46

ma that's a good idea of fevvers to get a nurse in - perhaps your DH will be more cooperative if he was listened to by someone else?

sweets yeah a bit, I managed to find the sage tincture and had a nap. The clematis can wait till tomorrow. The geraniums say should be planted out asap - and mention nothing about frost?

dementedma · 09/04/2015 19:51

Love that fevvers I could totally rock that outfit!!!!

Rubyredlips · 09/04/2015 20:00

Hiya all. Wow bus is busy. I wrote a long message this morning and then lost it (the post).

Have spent a lot of time today looking in the mirror at my eye bags Sad. Not vain you understand Grin.

I want to go home (staying with my parents at the mo). I do love my dm & df but I am ready to go home. I'm just drinking to get through the evenings. They watch crap tv constantly at the highest volume. It makes me want to cry Confused

dementedma · 09/04/2015 20:04

ruby hang in there. That sounds horrible.

Rubyredlips · 09/04/2015 20:04

Hi Ionnika and Venusspecimen hope all is ok? We do need to shorten your name VS Wink

Rubyredlips · 09/04/2015 20:06

Thanks Ma it's not bad really is it - could be a lot worse why does it feel like torture.

Rubyredlips · 09/04/2015 20:08

Also sleeping on a camp bed that might as well not have a mattress for all the use it is.

Me me me Grin

dementedma · 09/04/2015 20:12

How much longer are you there ruby?

fevversbetterout · 09/04/2015 20:25

Sweet, i had a hard time deciding between Agatha and Isadora. So here's your alternative pic.

SweetLathyrus · 09/04/2015 20:26

Ruby I hate the way my DF watches to. It's irrational, but just makes me grrr!

Joey do they look like this geraniums

Or do you expect them to when they are bigger? If they are, then they do need protection from frost.

Rubyredlips · 09/04/2015 20:27

Either leaving tomorrow or Sat but don't want to rush off cos they are old, don't get out much and are miles away from where I am so would love to go tomorrow but the dc love seeing their gramps too

SweetLathyrus · 09/04/2015 20:27

I think you were right first time Fevvers Grin

dementedma · 09/04/2015 20:37

I have decided to kill dh. It is the only way.

SweetLathyrus · 09/04/2015 20:41

Oh dear, Ma, it's a good thing you're not having a patio laid. You're not are you? Shock
