Hello, I'm Mouse Smile

This is the brave babes bus, Gerald. He travels far and wide, to wherever he's needed to offer non judgemental support, advice and Opal Fruits!!

We can tell you about the kind of places that can help, your GP can be the first and easiest place to start, or you can look up you local community addiction centre, or even just come onto the thread and let it all out.

There are posters here who have been on the Bus from the start and those who have just joined us Smile

It doesn't matter how long you've been here, the fact that you have taken that first amazing step in acknowledging that maybe, just maybe, things aren't quite right with your drinking is truly MASSIVE!!

This is a safe place for you to just be and to be as honest as you like, or just to talk.

We'll listen Smile

And if you'd like to see our last thread, you can JUST HERE

Plus if you'd like to see where these threads all began, you can read all about that YOU CAN READ THIS VERY EMOTIONAL AND MOVING THREAD

See you soon,

Mouse xxx Smile

Spanna in case Sweet has hopped off for a bit, and if it helps towards your fix, my app is saying I've saved £514. Scary!

SmallFox · 14/02/2015 21:08

Cross posted, Sweet - you got there first AND you beat me. Stomps off to back of bus Grin

SweetLathyrus · 14/02/2015 21:22

Small it's a shocking amount isn't it Blush

spanna41 · 14/02/2015 21:29

Fox, Sweet that is a substantial amount of wonga, innit? flippin heck Shock and actually not much between you, amount wise come on stick that bottom lip in Grin

SweetLathyrus · 14/02/2015 21:37

Spanna serveral wine merchants have gone bust!

It's funny how I used to look a smokers and wonder how they could spend so much, without ever considering what I spent on wine.

SweetLathyrus · 14/02/2015 21:52

Well I've not done much today, but I have enjoyed reading, I don't get to read for pleasure as much as I would like. So now, my little are drooping, and I'm off up the wooden hill.

Sleep well babes.

SmallFox · 14/02/2015 21:54

Ok, sulk over and bottom lip tucked back in. Sweet are you saving your savings (as it were) towards any particular treat, or are you just watching the pennies mount up? It is a nice feeling, though I do keep spending along the way. I am still loving the Nutribullet I bought with my first 'wine money' - something satisfying about replacing 'bad' (if yummy) drink with good!

aliasjoey · 14/02/2015 22:38

Am in sidecar tonight

spanna41 · 14/02/2015 23:11

Joey drink loads of water before bed Smile

Night all x

lookingforhope · 15/02/2015 00:24

Am in bed chatting to friends on FB, and came across a marvellous quote from Dr Seuss, which made me think the bus babes would like it. For some reason especially me and Ma who are in similar situations regarding longing for freedom, but applies to everyone really.....so, to help us with our struggles, am pinning this to Gerald's dashboard tonight.....
'You have brains in your head
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
Wherever you choose
You are on your own
And you know what you know
And you are the one
Who decides where to go'
Maybe not right away, but one day ....

Night night all xxx

SweetLathyrus · 15/02/2015 07:49

Morning All.

Joey I hope you don't feel too bad this morning.

Hope I like that, but we're not alone, not if we don't want to be.

Ma was the night out bearable?

I have the unenviable task of getting DS ready to go to his dad's today, always a stressful morning, I used to do it with the vino in the fridge ready for the moment he left. It used to be bad because ex would always manage to make a scene, now it's stressfull because boy has no urgency about getting anything ready!

The upside is that DH and I have three nights to ourselves.

SweetLathyrus · 15/02/2015 08:34

Fox, I get myself just a little something in each week's shopping, about the price of a single bottle. So far, I've got some lovely new glass cups, for my teas, a storage jar (also for teas), some chocolate cosmos (plants) and some white agapanthus (more plants!!). The rest, will go into the 'new kitchen fund'. Our last house had a tiny kitchen, as in so small, only one person at a time could get in; our new house had a kitchen and utility that we have already knocked together, so we have a lovely space, but the cupboards are a bit lot shabby. It also has artex - on the walls Confused! It has to go!

dementedma · 15/02/2015 08:59

Oh hope that is perfect. That is getting printed out and stuck inside my cupboard in work along with the picture of the yacht in full sail which says "one day, you will".
Good for you sorting out old bag in carpark!
Night out was hideous. Truly hideous. Blaring music, didnt know anyone, couldn't even try and make conversation, wb and I going through the motions of being civil in front of people...
But today is a sunny day and I am going to meet my bestie for coffee. A life within a life for now.
*joey" you ok?
You dry babes are amazing!
indie and wry check in babes

SweetLathyrus · 15/02/2015 09:20

Enjoy the sun and coffee, Ma, a treat for surviving the night.

Rubyredlips · 15/02/2015 10:26

Morning all

Had a lovely day yesterday after recovering from hangover. Theatre trip, really great.GrinGrinGrin

I'm now watching tv on my own, watching what I want to, whilst dh has gone food shopping and kids are playing together nicely in the other room.

This is bloody fabulous

SweetLathyrus · 15/02/2015 10:50

Sounds like a heavenly morning, Ruby. Puss, DH and I are sat listening to the Archers Omnibus Smile

SweetLathyrus · 15/02/2015 11:33

DS is gone. Oh good grief I had a lucky escape there, making him ExWB.

dementedma · 15/02/2015 13:23

Ds has gone to a friends house. He has a friend now! Hurrah! So good to see him starting to settle.
That leaves me and dh alone in the house......He will listen to football and I will watch the rugby and all will be well.
The elephant in the room has space at the sides for squeezing past...Grin

Fairenuff · 15/02/2015 13:24

Inspired by another thread... what are we all giving up for Lent?

Hahahahahaha Grin

Fairenuff · 15/02/2015 13:26

A small glimpse of the future ma. Not pretty is it. I find that whereas dh and I could never get a quiet moment together when the children were young, we have ample time alone together now but the inclination to make the most of it is not as pressing as it used to be Grin

aliasjoey · 15/02/2015 13:28

Not too bad this morning - I took spannas advice and drank loads of water. Have to stay AF for a few days now to clear my head. I must give the dog a haircut tonight, which is better done sober.

ma have you found an outfit yet?

aliasjoey · 15/02/2015 13:34

sweets advice please?! I bought a little pot of daffodils and the instructions say that after flowering, they can be planted out in the garden. Do they mean after all the flowers have died? What about the leaves, do I have to wait till they're all dead too? and where do I plant them?

SweetLathyrus · 15/02/2015 15:05

Joey, once the flowers die, cut just those off and leave the leaves. Plant the in the garden deeper than they were in the pot, then leave the leaves to die. If you do that they should flower again next year Smile - I'm enough of a garden nut to be a member of the RHS!!

Faire that is very naughty, you know we should all be giving up opal fruits, as a pious symbol of our humility and goodness!!

SweetLathyrus · 15/02/2015 15:09

Sainsbury's has fever tree tonic on special. Result. N&T for me tonight.

Fairenuff · 15/02/2015 15:54

Oooh thanks sweet, I might pop down and get some. Don't forget the lemon! Smile
