Hi Sweet - just sending a quick wave from day 49. Sorry you were low yesterday - just think, though - tomorrow is day 50. How awesome is that? Huge pride.

Though I am a bit worried I might not get there as DP and I are having a night away from the kids at a lovely country hotel - worried about how I will survive dinner AF. But am determined to try. Sorry not to NC everyone - am in transit for most of this week but am checking in from time to time and sending love to you all.

SweetLathyrus · 18/02/2015 09:36

Fox, you will want to make the most of it Grin Blush, don't know about you, but even one drink would ruin my sleep. AND, DAY 50!!! pretty damn awesome.

Have a lovely time.

obrigada · 18/02/2015 09:36

Ruby, I had a shit nights sleep as well coz my legs were paining me (only way I can describe it).

Sweet, hard to list immediate benefits of smoke free except for more money in my purse Grin

SweetLathyrus · 18/02/2015 10:09

Well, that can't be bad, Obrigada, do you have a plan for it?

SweetLathyrus · 18/02/2015 10:24

My wine money (£582 Spanna Grin, minus my tea pig addiction) is about to buy me a new gate from the back garden into the field beyond. This is really important because it's another step towards feeling able to get myself a dog (don't tell Puss!).

obrigada · 18/02/2015 10:43

No concrete plan as yet Sweet, there are so many things I want that I'm not sure where to even start Grin. Definitely do want a garden I can enjoy in the summer, so will be picking your brains over the next few months.

Khalisi · 18/02/2015 10:56

Good morning, Darling Babes.

Only just starting to feel the fog lifting from a mother of all headaches. Was up at 3 Feeling totally sick. Stayed home (hate to miss a 'quite day' at work!). But, no one but me can look after me.

Sweet and Fox Day 50 knocking at the door! How great is that?!

Oh that gate is going to be extra fabulous, Sweet. You know that, right?!

Later, my Babes.

babyjane1 · 18/02/2015 10:59

Morning babes,

obrigada you rock, giving up both at once is hardcore but your right, they go hand in hand sometimes so it's a great way to give your body heaps of respect all at once. You go girl xxx

Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm on day 7 after my last binge and so bloody relieved to be totally boringly normal. I'm treating myself to a massage and facial to rid myself of the many toxins in my knackered old body...

ma sending you strength and hugs xxx

SweetLathyrus · 18/02/2015 10:59

The right plant in the right place, Obrigada. Plants want to grow, and once you know that, it's easy (ish!).

aliasjoey · 18/02/2015 11:12

sweets I planted out those daffodils yesterday - it was a beautiful sunny day Smile

Fairenuff · 18/02/2015 11:40

I got my hair cut and styled this morning with money I've saved (don't know how much, not been keeping track). Went to a new posh salon. Well posh for me anyway Grin

So, half a stone a lighter and new swishy hair. Beats a bottle of wine anytime.

Today is the first day of Lent so I am contemplating 40 days of 'improving' myself. Anyone else want to join?

I will probably stick with healthy eating, exercise, etc. with the ultimate goal of having a 'summer body' for once in my life but it could be anything that is good for us. Just something to make us feel better - taking up a new hobby, making firm plans with friends, spring cleaning the house, new gardening skills, re-painting the house one room at a time, whatever.

But I like the idea of a little break from it all at Easter so 40 days is a good, round number to aim for. Then sit back and admire the results Smile

Isinde there have been a couple of shout outs for you, you ok my lovely? Mouse come and let us know how it's going with you. Any news on the old folk front?

Ma you don't have to make any big changes until you are ready. You could maybe let him know that you don't see it lasting, or something and start talking about making steps towards separation in the future. You could start with separate bedrooms maybe? Unless you are desperate to get out of there x

SweetLathyrus · 18/02/2015 12:12

The sun can be warm even at this time of year, Joey. And you will enjoy those daffs year after year, it's why I always get seeds in my Xmas stocking, so I can enjoy Christmas all over again when they flower Smile.

Faire I hope the sun is shining on the new swishy you! I really like the idea of doing something rather than doing without! Today I have cut down the bush that is in the way of where my gate is going to go, and once the gate is open I'll have a lovely walk at the end of my garden. Result.

obrigada · 18/02/2015 15:52

"The right plant in the right place, Obrigada. Plants want to grow, and once you know that, it's easy (ish!)."

So for total newbie Sweet how do I know which is the right place for which plant?

SweetLathyrus · 18/02/2015 16:17

First thing, obrigada is look at your garden, where is the sun and where is the shade? Then look at the gardens around you, what seems to grow well?

Most plants will come with instructions that tell you what sort of conditions they like, full sun or shade, dry conditions or moist. Those are the easy ones. Then you will get some plants that prefer acid or alkaline soil - fortunately, most prefer neutral, but you don't need a chemistry set, you should be able to tell from what already grows. If lots of neighbours have heathers, azaleas and rhododendrons, and they grow well, soil is probably acidic. If not, then probably neutral.

Beware of labels that say 'vigorous', that means it's a right pain in the bum, and you'll be pulling it out by the barrow load in two months time!

And if in doubt, ask at your local garden centre. I'm a bit of a plant nerd, I like Latin names, and a challenge, but one of the best things my mum did last year was with a box of wild flower seeds from the 99 p Store. She just cleared a patch, raked them in and watered.

venusandmars · 18/02/2015 16:23

sweet lucky you're posting during the day, if the rest of the Babe were around to read posts about you trimming your bush, and opening your gate, the thread would be full of smut Grin

SweetLathyrus · 18/02/2015 16:35

Grin and you never would, Venus!!

SweetLathyrus · 18/02/2015 16:36

What about enjoying a good bit of Latin? Blush

Rubyredlips · 18/02/2015 17:00

GrinGrin

Rubyredlips · 18/02/2015 17:11

Glad you're feeling better today Sweet.

I had a dream about my ex last night, think it must be all the talk on here about wb. We were at the same event and I made sure he saw me looking amazing. I had flawless skin and looked really healthy - that was it really - how odd Hmm. Does that mean that I subconsciously think I look amazing? news to my conscious selfWink

Rubyredlips · 18/02/2015 17:12

news to my conscious self Wink

SweetLathyrus · 18/02/2015 18:15

It's the confident you, Ruby

Khalisi · 18/02/2015 20:17

Did anyone say something about trimming bushes?! What did I miss? Sweet, you are married!!! No pruning of the bushes in Winter! Grin

10km in an hour!!! Grin Grin Grin
Who's bad?!

Khalisi · 18/02/2015 20:20

P.S. Faire I would love to join you but I'm rather intimidated by my failure AF failure in January. I really believed I'd ace it. Blush

dementedma · 18/02/2015 21:11

Checking in from a hotel. Haven't run away. At a conference. Very very tired. Not wearing wedding rings, no communication. Dad cancelled meals on wheels so had social work on the phone.
Its dark here and pissing rain. Might go out and just sit on the beach in the rain and hope it all goes away.
