Hello, I'm Mouse :)

Welcome to the thread, or our mythical Bus called Gerald! Grin

There is room for everyone. Always

There is help for everyone who wants it. Always

There is unconditional support and kindness. Always

We have two sentences that we believe in here -

    • The Vulnerable Need Our Support, Not Our Judgement
    • Alcohol Fosters Inertia

No matter what it is that you drink, how much, how often, we've ALL been in your position at one point or another...... so most of us WILL know exactly what it's like to be YOU

If you'd like to read the last thread, it's below -

THIS IS THE PREVIOUS THREAD

And if you want to read a pretty sobering thread and the history behind these many, the reason why we are all here, fighting to stay/get sober is here -

FIRST EVER BRAVE BABES THREAD

Hope to see you soon :)

I think the whole of mn was playing up yesterday, margaret, mine kept timing out too.

Good to hear you prefer sobriety to hangovers. Tbh it was the hangovers that made me stop drinking like that, I hated them more than anything.

spanna41 · 04/08/2014 21:17

Buggerations, just lost me fricking post Sad back in a minute. Need to go and make tea and avoid throwing my lap top out of my window Angry

NewNameNewDay · 04/08/2014 21:18

News flash from day 8 - I've had a bath! Clearly I've had baths before but not for about 3 years (promise I've had the odd shower in the interim). Like you say, Name, there's so much time of an evening these days, it's quite surreal. It was so lovely just relaxing, reading, bubbles, candles and all that malarkey. A proper treat. Now for mint tea, a bit more of my book, and an early night. Don't want to hear or see the news - its all too awful out there, makes me want to weep, so just for tonight I'll curl up in my nice cocoon-y bubble and shut the world out. Night, all babes xx

BloodyUserName · 04/08/2014 21:24

Night newname, I think I'll join you. Hang on let me rephrase that. I'm off to bed too (my bed). Sheesh, I trip over my words bad enough sober, can you imagine me when I'm drunk?

Night all xx

margarethamilton · 04/08/2014 21:44

Another one off to bed. Tea, book and face slathered in new Dermalogica potions. If I'm not drinking, I'm treating myself to good skin care!

Cotswolds tomorrow for a walk, picnic and browse, weather permitting. Night all x

lookingforhope · 04/08/2014 21:46

Sat here waiting to do the candle thing for Lights Out #WW1Aug4. Baby welcome back wankbadger assassin! I think Rural needs you too. I cannot believe that thing with the receipts. It is horrible, but I wanted to giggle imagining him bent over them with a biro like a modern day Scrooge, ticking off pet food and writing your name in little petty letters. I am happy DS is looking after you Rural. You should spoil yourself and order posh takeaways if wankbadger won't cook. My Ds is lovely too. It's a relief isn't it, when you know they aren't picking up the bad messages about how to treat women.... Hope everyone out there has a good night xxx

Mning by candlelight for the ww1 memorial.
rural next time you go shopping by stuff like lingerie and lube and condoms. That will give him something to think about.....
Tired tonight so off to sleep. Another one early in bed tonight. What a sleepy bus this is ....

spanna41 · 04/08/2014 22:09

Ma Grin or Rural how about buying chocolate body paint, a rampant rabbit and some penis candles??? that would raise his eyebrow Smile

Night all x

venusandmars · 04/08/2014 22:29

spanna41 · 05/08/2014 06:33

Good morning Smile

Really fitful sleep Day 2 no alcohol, no fags. Feel shattered and not quite ready to start the day Hmm

Have a lovely day you lovely Brave Babes. I know I'm going to keep running here for support over the next few days. I really want to do this Smile < hides under mohair blanket, in the hope of getting more sleep >

SoberSocFish · 05/08/2014 06:34

Hello. I'm heavily cloaked in smug today. Spent last night in a hotel room with one of my best old drinking friends. She sunk 1.5 bottles of wine. I drank water. I had a brief moment of wishfulness but it didn't last and we still had a laugh. I'm very relieved I got through that. Xx

lookingforhope · 05/08/2014 07:49

We'll done Soc, you are amazing! Spanna - same here, on Day 4, and sleep is haywire. Keep meaning to get up at 6 and exercise, instead lie awake all night then fall asleep at 4am, enjoy some nightmares then get up too late to wash hair before the horrors of work. My head is full of dry shampoo, I am a middle aged slob! Blush. Let's get through this together...

spanna41 · 05/08/2014 08:18

Well done Soc Grin you are such an inspiration x

Hope Grin thank you for making me laugh. I find it all a bit serious this not drinking milarky Hmm I could really do with some hand holding, yes please can we do this together? Well done for Day 4 that's really good, you're over the worst bit of Day 3. I am truly a slob too, anything for an easy life me. Is it next week that you're off work? Are you planning on going anywhere with DCs? Your DS sounds like a champ Smile. Have a good day Hope don't let those bastards get you down xxx

babyjane1 · 05/08/2014 09:22

Morning babes, after 3 nights camping with no nightmares, last night they were as bad ad ever, so bizarre, also my back is killing me!!!! Anyway I've a ton of washing then a bike ride with dd's. My girls go back to school and nursery next week and I have mixed emotions. Be good to get some routine back in the house but the empty hours worry me, I would really like to get back to college or uni at least part time, dont need to worry about reek

babyjane1 · 05/08/2014 09:24

Reeking of stale wine or being over the limit. Right I need to dash out now, be back soon, I've missed you all xxxxx

lookingforhope · 05/08/2014 10:07

Spanna definitely up for a bit of teamwork here. Right now sat in Work with grim hair feeling overwhelmed. 2 days off next week, then in for 5 then off for almost two weeks. Got dd's birthday party to organise next weekend then her room to decorate the week after (am paying someone but still have to sort out years of her stuff!). And ds has some important races to do which will involve overnight travel, but hoping for a few days away with girlfriends and kids in middle - will never wash my hair at this rate ! How are you holding up today? You know 3 days sober is 4320 minutes. And sometimes one minute this week has felt hard. So I think we both deserve a small pat on the back so far. And perhaps some chocolate... Thousands of little achievements!

lookingforhope · 05/08/2014 10:09

Oh missed you there baby. hello Smile

Anneisnotmyname · 05/08/2014 10:29

Day 4, feeling anxious about going work, totally churned up. I'm sure I'll be fine once I'm there but after a few days off I'm dreading it...I won't be drinking tonight as have work tomorrow as well. I can't cope with the hangovers so it makes me control myself, dread to think how much I'd drink if I didn't suffer the next day...

lookingforhope · 05/08/2014 11:06

Know that feeling Anne. Support here from fellow day 4 wage slave... ((((hugs))))

spanna41 · 05/08/2014 11:11

Hope sounds like a busy time off for you with alot to do which is good as it will keep your mind off work and wine! What colour scheme are you going for in DDs room? Have you thought of Ebaying or Car Booting DDs unwanted stuff. My DD loved carbooting (right south london market trader) Grin Then she chose some stuff for her new look room from the money we made from unwanted stuff, time consuming, but good fun. Time away with DC sounds like fun. x

Baby sorry your back aches, have you got any 'hardcore' pain relief? Did you enjoy your camping expedition? Have you got a local college or Uni near you? Have a look online, is there anything that you've always fancied doing? How about a part-time job within school hours, local cake shop, gift shop. How about taking up swimming after DDs have gone to nursery and school and finish it off with a steam, sauna and massage?? Are there any local artists that do classes? I know you can fill those hours and you will honey Smile

Anneis Oh Babe it is awful psyching yourself up to go back to work after time off. Is there anything really nice you can do with yourself today? mini-facial, manicure - just something just for YOU. Almost as a reward for going back to work. Hang in there Babe and be kind to yourself Smile

I am currently hanging on by my nails (really want a fag, although don't usually smoke until the sun goes down) My DD2 is being a complete pain in the bum today, it's almost like she knows I'm struggling (not told her anything) AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH. Anyway about to get in the shower (when she's finally finished in the bath that she's taken about 2 hours to get into) and then off out for distraction purposes Smile

Fairenuff · 05/08/2014 12:17

Can I join the slobs please - not even dressed yet!

Soc your poor friend must be feeling a bit worse for wear today and there you are all bright eyed and bushy tailed. The morning after NOT drinking is the best ever isn't it?

3 days sober is 4320 minutes love it hope. And every one of those minutes is a victory!

Hang in there Spanna, it will pass.
