Hello all well smallfeet has just gone and I have to go and get my dd soon, we had a very nice day without leaving the flat Wink Blush

I have never done anything like that before, I have lived a sheltered life Grin all good although I do worry that maybe we are a bit too different sometimes. He said today he would never go to Glastonbusy festival as its full of druggies and soap dodgers Hmm I was a bit offended as I have been about 10 times!! Also his spelling is horrendous, I try really hard not to let it bother me but honestly the other day he text me 'high' when he meant 'hi' !! And he has small hands (and feet obv!)

However good points are that he bought me two big boxes of chocolate for v day, he is funny, he seems to really listen, he is easy to be around and chats lots, he is loyal to his friends and family.

So am thinking the other things are quite superficial things really and he scores lots of points in the things that actually matter?

Now got to go and do school run hoping I don't look like I have been ahem dtd most of the day Blush

TheCrow · 14/02/2014 14:55

oldfashioned he obviously doesn't think so either, his reply when I said he was too old was 'am I bollocks' !! I don't know, everyone has their age ceiling and floor that they're comfortable with, I'm 26 and mine is 24-34. I'd make an exception if there was someone I really liked though. Plus he asked me to meet him in an hour, I need a lot longer than that to get ready!

oldfashionedgirl · 14/02/2014 14:59

I am 27 and I think my range would be 30 to maybe 48ish. Wondering if that is weird now!! The majority of my friends are older than me.

Only an hour's notice?! Eeeek not sure many people can get ready in that time!

Blossomflowers · 14/02/2014 15:01

Just been messages a lovely looking/sounding fella, I am struggling on POF to even see someone I like sp this is good, and now find out he has a Scottish accent. Oh bloody I am being really silly letting that put me off right, slap me please. oh ans he is 41 as few years younger, oh god I am hopeless at this

oldfashionedgirl · 14/02/2014 15:04

It might not be a strong accent!

Blossomflowers · 14/02/2014 15:06

It's alright I am being a twat, bloody ridiculous to rule someone out because of accent, look at Sean Connery now he is Scottish and was hot in his 40's

TheCrow · 14/02/2014 15:07

Not weird at all, everyone is different :)

The strangest thing just happened, the guy I was flirting with earlier just pulled up in his van right outside my living room window and went next door. He got out of the passenger side and kind of looked through the window as he did, hope he didn't see me as I'm sat here in my dressing gown!! How bizarre!

Lahti · 14/02/2014 15:07

crow I'm no expert in OLD at all. I went on a date with a guy my age it was awful and I've also been on a date with a guy who was 13 years older much better
I did have a big hissy fit with him earlier this week over online profiles, but embarrassingly it turned out not to be how I thought and I had jumped to conclusions.
I say give him a try, but the 1 hours notice seems a bit wierd to me.

oldfashionedgirl · 14/02/2014 15:09

I don't know who would be able to drop everything and meet someone in an hour. Little bit odd that!

Oh I dread that sort of thing! Bumping into someone I have been chatting to when I look like a make up free scruff!

TheCrow · 14/02/2014 15:14

Blossom I'm with you, I hate the Scottish accent too, it would put me off.Someone with an Irish or Geordie accent however would be forgiven any multitude of sins! Grin

Maybe Mr Older Man was just in town already or something? I have DD anyway until tonight so couldn't have accepted but if I'd said that he would have tried to arrange for another day, just feel a bit weird about the age thing and better to be upfront!

LizzieBelle · 14/02/2014 15:18

FWIW, the trouble with OLD, you cant gauge a personality from a photo. I have done OLD but I prefer the old fashioned RL way!

oldfashionedgirl · 14/02/2014 15:23

Why do people just send a message with hi?!

Lahti · 14/02/2014 15:25

oldfashioned it's because it easy and they are probably sending it out en masse. Could be worse I had someone message me saying "you must be a real man hater"

oldfashionedgirl · 14/02/2014 15:33

I thought it was probably an easy way to message 100 people!

Worst so far was "Are you as innocent as you look? Hope so."

Lahti · 14/02/2014 15:39

oldfashioned they are cheeky aren't they?

My 1st time online I had "you look nice, probably too nice for me?"
I asked "why"
He said "I'm only looking for casual sex"

Well at least he was honest.

oldfashionedgirl · 14/02/2014 15:42

It is eye opening for sure!

Between that and the one that wants to marry me, is writing me poetry and sent 10 messages in a row without me replying it is an interesting site!

TheCrow · 14/02/2014 16:20

My worst message by far has been 'gizalik' mainly because I couldn't work out what he was talking about for ages! Felt like replying with 'Get a basic grasp of grammar and I might consider it!' One guy made me laugh by asking me to marry him, then about ten minutes later sent another saying he needed my answer so he could order the Basics cider and sausage rolls in:D It's definitely interesting to say the least!

dippinmytoe · 14/02/2014 16:21

mademan the guy asked was I free yest , I said no working and kids ... his reply "what a shame I'm feeling horny" . Needless to say he got blocked !

jarlin yay :) :) at last slowburner kissed you !! Hopefully it's all worth waiting for.

girlie what a lovely afternoon to have.. very jealous.

first valentines single for a long time ... and loving it.. having a party tonight :)

Re age I'm 36 , I look at guys from 32/33 -46. In saying that when I was 21 , I had a romance with a guy who was 18 yrs older and very hot !

oldfashionedgirl · 14/02/2014 16:44

Another question!

If someone sends you their mobile number and says text them do they mean it? Said he has no wifi at home.

Lahti · 14/02/2014 16:55

oldfashioned I wasn't keen on handing out my number until Id been chatting for a little while. Most guys however did immediately hand it out.
You could get a cheap pay as you go phone though and use that though.

oldfashionedgirl · 14/02/2014 17:03

I just wondered if it was the norm - most of them seem to give out their numbers pretty fast. Made me think I was just being a bit scared!

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 14/02/2014 17:18

oldfashioned I tend to swap numbers and take it to text/Whatsapp once a date is being arranged, not whilst it's still at the just chatting stage

oldfashionedgirl · 14/02/2014 17:21

One of them does seem quite nice though and maybe he doesn't have good internet at home. Then again he might have given his number out to loads and I am not sure I am brave enough to just text someone!

SeekingLegalAdvice · 14/02/2014 17:36

Texts are pretty much the same as POF except I prefer POF first too because once they have your number they can contact you anytime

Santaclaws · 14/02/2014 19:20

Well I have taken the plunge and suggested Bricky come here to my house tomorrow evening and I said then we can decide whether to go out or not. He said could I text him my address which obviously I need to do but I'm holding back I'd prefer to give it tomorrow not tonight. I'm mad aren't i, what is wrong with me.?
