The Brave Babes Battle Bus - A New Year, A New YOU!

New Year Resolutions Anyone?

Welcome one and all, I'm Mouse, nice to meet YOU. :)

This is a thread for those who want to give up drink completely, or are maybe thinking about doing controlled drinking, or cutting down slowly, it's all up to you.

You know your limits, you know what is required, it's in YOUR hands.

Whatever your goal, you'll find unconditional support here. Always.

There will be talk of drinking quite often and those who fall off the Bus will post about it, so if that is going to jeopardise your chances of complete sobriety, then maybe the DRY threads would suit you better, as they are complete abstainers, but EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE :)

There are no hard and fast rules, other than the support here is unconditional, it may be in the form of tough love at times, but it's always meant with the very best of intentions.

There are two sayings that we rather like here -

    • The Vulnerable Need Our Support, Not Our Judgement

    • Alcohol Fosters Inertia

For those of you who'd like some history, here is the very first thread and the reason that we're all here now. FIRST THREAD

And here is the lastest thread, which you can scroll back through to see the other JOURNEYS SO FAR

The Bus may be 'mythical', but the support is real, it is honest and it will help you to achieve what it is that you seek, as long as you are honest with us, but mostly, YOURSELF

      See you soon. x

I prefer humour at all times beaches. I think DJ was a bit ambitious for me. Given the long school
summer holidays and all that comes with it. But I'm still aiming for abstinence. Those 10 days dry were bloody amazing. I want more of that.

One thing you are really good at Soc is getting right back to it. Gone are the days when one slip meant giving up trying. Also, STOP with all that summer stuff I am Envy Grin

Thanks Spanna, I will live in hope Smile

Hey all
You are all doing so well!
I fully intend to have another crack at DJ once this pesky birthday is out of the way.
I felt better and lost some weight. Plan to go, low carb too.
Had a lovely time with a lot of dear friends on Saturday, someone got the guitar out and we had all the old favourites -the Sloop John B, the Skye Boat song, What will we do with a drunken sailor.......quite a nautical theme going on lol.

sweet your making the rest of us look bad with this ruthless efficiency!!' .spanna thank you for asking dd loved her wee class and we shared a big piece of cake at the cafe opposite, it was a lovely start to the day. I used to dance myself at teacher level so I've found an adult ballet and also a tap class do I start ballet tomorrow evening!! It gets me out of the house, stops me focussing on wine and will help tone me up so I hope I still have the moves..... Xxx

beaches yes, there's been a significant change in my mindset over the past few months so even though I'm not as dry as I'd like to be I'm a million times better than I was and that keeps me going and I keep wanting to do just a little better all the time. I will get to a place where I'm either teetotal or drinking extremely little. I have no doubt any more and it's good. But if I hate myself on this journey I will never succeed.

ma your Saturday sounds great. I'm sure there's a guitar or two on the bus?

spanna it is a bit like that isn't it. stop/start/stop/start.....at least there's a stop in there.

'D'h did buy some wine, he's just shoved a glass of red under my nose two minutes ago. I told him to take it away, I don't want to break DJ for the sake of having a glass of cheap red whilst sat at home on a sunday night Angry

Good luck for tomorrow I'm xx

Hello ladies. Hope you are all well Smile

Have almost completed Day 5. After my mammoth lie in today, I cooked myself a really yummy tea of steak, roast potatoes and veg. Later I managed a good length run and have just eaten a really lovely homemade pud! I feel like I have managed to give myself a really big hug after having such a shitty week. Also have shown myself ways of making myself feel better which does not involve alcohol or fags.

Thanks for all you lovely ladies for your support, I have so much respect for all of you! Thanks

Wow, so many success stories and such positive words from those who haven't been quite so successful.
I came home from the pub having endured a certain amount of good humoured hilarity. Being such a serene individual I smiled benignly and sipped at my ginger beer in a most composed manner. So day 12 out the way :)
For whoever it was asking about geocaching (am on my phone so can't check back- sorry) beware! It is quite addictive, though it has to be said that DH and particularly DS don't share quite my level of enthusiasm for it :o
