Nope I jus called a taxi, I'm on my way! Giving him a chance to not be so creepy in real life!

HanselandGretel · 07/01/2014 20:55

Good luck one, let's hope he's Mr personality in the flesh!

INeedSomeHelp · 07/01/2014 21:44

Can I ask a question about POF. If someone clicks the button that says they want to meet you but don't actually get in touch - what do you do? Surely if they want to meet you the first step is to send a message?

MasterP0 · 07/01/2014 21:54

Contact them if you want, if you don't hear back move on, no big deal!

Just cyber stalked Mr Wales on POF, his account has been closed! Somehow I don't think I will be hearing from him!! SOB

Anywhoooooo moving on............

I've been lurking on this thread for a little while, now I have Tinder downloading on my phone I thought it's time I came and said hello. I'm still skeptical about it though, what if you see someone you know on there, isn't it really embarassing?! I'm not really sure what I want out of it anyway, and am used to more traditional methods... Hmm But anyway, hello everyone!!

MasterP0 · 07/01/2014 21:57

Waves at Kitty, ignore or send a cheeky message. I sometimes send "...fancy seeing you around these parts....."

OP posts:
KittyConfused · 07/01/2014 21:59

Also, I separated from my husband before Christmas but my Facebook profile still says married, even though it's hidden on my profile, will it still come up on Tinder?! scurries away to change it

INeedSomeHelp · 07/01/2014 22:25

I just don't get why you would click you want to meet someone but not send a message. 23 men seem to think I am going to magically appear in front of them just because they've clicked that button!

FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 07/01/2014 22:37

Indeed help...most of the guys that want to meet me, I'd never ever want to meet them. I seem to attract the same types, lol. However, I have some guys who are a mutual meet, and I've been known to send them a message.

Kitty...I've seem a couple I've known on pof. One guy I sent a message to because he viewed my profile and clicked the meet me! I suggested meeting up but he never took me up on it (and he's my friend on FB!). I'm a teacher and seen some ex pupils and some parents of pupils!!

Master...you must be knackered!! Travelling and shagging must take its toll, lol. Lucky cow!! Lol. Shame about Mr Wales....so, you've just done Mr Ireland...what next? Mr Scotland ;0)

One....I think it's about time we had a toilet update!!

I've been happily texting number 4. He's really very interesting and outdoorsy. Just my type! My skirt arrived today....it's a tad small, as in short! Had planned on a mini kilt, with my fleece and Hunter wellies since its a dog walk. But the mini kilt is a micro kilt....so it's a no go for me!!

MasterP0 · 07/01/2014 22:40

INeed I must admit I click "like to meet" and NEVER email! Don't read too much into it! I do however like to look who has viewed my profile and if anyone catches my eye, and hasn't emailed I'll email with a flirty/funny email asking why did you view and run?? I actually think that's what I did with Mr Wales, and he replied something along the lines of he didn't contact me because he thought I'd be put off by distance. He couldn't find any suitable matches closer to him. I think you just need to remember to be proactive! If you likey contact him, if he doesn't reply HIS LOSS!

*Kitty" it doesn't show that, but better to remove before you start dating!

Flora good one!

Getting laid has done me the world of good, I was becoming too emotionally invested in this OD malarkey, now I'm chilled. Last week the mere thought if Mr Wales disappearing would've sent me into a spin, now I'm back in control THANK GOD and it's not the end of the world even if I REALLY REALLY like him! Just called him (we always text) no answer. If I've heard nothing by Fri night, deleting him out of my life!

OP posts:
KittyConfused · 07/01/2014 23:36

Binned a bunch of guys already, then there's one that's kind of cute but I'm terrified to 'like' him! It's so scary without a pint in hand and your friends egging you on, I'm so out of practice with all of this kids today with your newfangled dating systems What if he messages me?!?!

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 07/01/2014 23:39

Ok, not toilet update just got back. Ok he was not really intense or creepy at all in real life, maybe a bit hurt by previous experience at a guess. Quite sweet funny genuine guy to be honest, we had a lot of laughs, and share s

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 07/01/2014 23:42

Stoopid phone
Share some interests. Not sure if I fancy him or not, and spectacular timing on behalf of my taxi ballsed up any goodnight kiss anyway. He is shorter than me when I'm wearing heels though....and I'm a really short person.

Hmm.

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 07/01/2014 23:44

master I always say that.... If not heard by X time, that's it!!!! They always seem up get in touch just at X-1, when I was almost alright with it being done.

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 07/01/2014 23:48

Oh shut he's just asked me out again already

Aargh give a girl a chance to think!!!

Via Whatsapp too so he'll know I read the message. Bloody technology.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 08/01/2014 00:10

Technology is a fucker! My friend just informed me that if a person has an iphone, they know when you read their text message! Shock

I've just Googled to see if this is true (because it scuppers my Rules way of not replying straightaway), and it seems she is wrong, but can anyone with an iphone confirm or deny that this is true? I have an android windows phone if this helps.

wishingnhoping · 08/01/2014 00:14

Yes you can see if a message on an iPhone has been read and what time it was read, but you can also turn this function off (so people can't see if you read the message) by going to settings>messages>and turn off send read receipts.

wishingnhoping · 08/01/2014 00:17

Sorry just to add, unless you are also using an iPhone and sending iMessages you can't see if it's been read or not it will just say delivered. Just seen that you are not using an iPhone so no they won't be able to see what time you read the message.

hope that makes sense!

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 08/01/2014 00:22

Well apparently we're going out again! I did enjoy the evening, and he's asked me to go do something he knows I like. Will just wear flats I guess.

Another OKC guy has asked me out for Thursday....seems I'm back in the world of multi-dating!

Was thinking earlier that I missed housemate guy though Sad

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 08/01/2014 00:25

Yup, all normal people switch off iMessage read receipts, they're just stalkery. Wish you could switch them off for Whatsapp.

Backonthefence · 08/01/2014 00:33

You can take off the time stamp so it doesn't show when you have been on whats app my brother does it I will ask him how.

Backonthefence · 08/01/2014 00:34

However you also cannot see if they have read your messages.
