The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Off To Find The Summer Sun and Sobriety!

Hello, I'm Mouse :)

Welcome to the Bus, take a seat and enjoy the ride. We're a Bus full of drinkers, non-drinkers, those who are trying to give up for life, those who are giving up for a few hours because that's all that they can manage (which is fine!) or quitting just for today......

We don't wear Judgey Pants (they're far too last year darhling Wink) but we have hugs a plenty and tough love when it's needed. Which isn't often!

So, what have you got to lose? If you're reading this, you're thinking that you are no longer happy with the way you drink, which tells me that this is the Bus for you. :)

If you'd like to see where we've been so far and what we've been up to, take a peek HERE

And if you want to knnow why we're here in the first place, take a look at THIS THREAD RIGHT HERE :)

See you soon x

Hi all babes Happy Tuesday!! Ma Bloody well done! I'm doing 4/7 - not in any particular order, and it's really really hard some nights, but it makes me feel so much better and in control (and calmer). Then, when I do have my 'nights on' I don't feel so guilty. Also not drinking that extra 2400 calories in wine (and the crap I used to eat after it); I'm finding I'm losing a little bit of weight and my skin is clearer. Sorry not to namecheck, but I'm mad busy today (although I think I'll have to close down my little catering company because it's really not making any money Sad. Be kind to yourselves today babes

babyjane1 · 20/08/2013 10:44

obrigada I would love to be your slimming world buddy, getting weighed tonight and going for a mega shop in the morning. On day 8 and I'm suffering much worse from iPhone withdrawal than wine!!! It is getting easier day by day even though my relationship with dh seems more fragmented than ever, I hope as I get stronger and more like my old self and we will reconnect, it's early days. I'm off to get my iphone fixed cos this kindle keeps changing all the words, it's really weird. Back later babes to NC you lovely lovely ladies, chin up tums in xxxxx

Greeneyed · 20/08/2013 11:10

Morning babes! Sorry pushed for time again. Welcome new babes you are in good company :)

ma re confusion mouse and I are doing different diets - mouse low carb which I think is like atkins - see low carb and boot camp threads under low carb diets on here. I am doing Paleo which is low carb but based on some other principles. Some people eat dairy on it including me as in milk in tea vut I limit it and only eat certain cheeses (mainly not hard cheeses) as lower carb content. Milk is quite carby.

Well done on AF days! X

obrigada · 20/08/2013 11:18

Baby, am going to get weighed tonight as well, have been a member of SW online since November but never really got into it.

Pawprint · 20/08/2013 11:22

Thanks Pink - I'm sure alcoholism is genetic. I'm convinced of that.

babyjane1 · 20/08/2013 11:41

obrigada I've never really got into it either, probably cos it was always a bit half hearted as I was drinking a bottle if wine every night so it was never going to work anyway. I know a great many people who have lost loads of weight so it does work and getting to my goal will boost my self esteem sooooo much, good luck, will check in later xxxxx

obrigada · 20/08/2013 12:08

Same here Baby, one of my best friends has lost almost 4 stone since last November following SW but not a member. She looks absolutely fantastic. I am booked in for Reiki session on Wednesday evening and am hoping that gives me the kick start I need to look after myself.

Isinde Better a tanned backside than a lily white one, whatever the size Wink! x

Sylvana · 20/08/2013 17:00

Pink, lager for the DH is a great idea, I will stock up on some cans, he can like it or lump it! I just can't have red wine in the house, if its here i will open it. I'm on day two and feeling ok, I'm not missing it as much as I thought I would. Someone on here said it was habitual and it was, a horrible out of control habit. I like the idea of being in control.

GladToBeSilver · 20/08/2013 19:05

Bon soir mes petit campers

Haven't read the thread back but wanted to say to you all - the WW is an evil conniving bitch - but we can all defeat her. We can kick her twisted evil arse into next week - one day at a time

Not doing so well on my controlled holiday drinking

.isindie get yer fat tanned arse back on de bus

mouse. Hope you're havin a fab holiday

All BBs - look after yourselves because, you know what, you ARE worth it x x c

babyjane1 · 20/08/2013 19:45

inside glad to have your tanned tuche back, we missed you, how's everyone tonight?? Sending warm hugs to all, winning or struggling, I'm reading a great book called "ice and a slice" it's fiction but the author has been through much of what we all have and the book will ring many many bells with most of you, it's worth a look and may reinforce how easily the ww can fool us as all. Xxxxx

Pink01 · 20/08/2013 19:59

Jango, you ok? You out there? Smile

Evening babes, hope you're all well. Baby I just downloaded I Need To Stop Drinking onto Kindle app, it is good and really resonates. I haven't finished it yet. Ice and Slice was recommended alongside it.

Hope everyone has had a good day. Hello to Green, Isin and Silver and all other babes. X

Mouseface · 20/08/2013 20:03

Evening, tis me, Mouse

Hello to ALL BABES - I'm sorry not to NC you all, but know that I think about you all lots. :)

Our holiday is a bit hit and miss, Nemo is struggling with his chest/runny nose/respiration but I think it's the sea air...... a change in air from farm to fish! Grin and he's not sleeping which is why I'm not sleeping. But DH is getting up with him so I can have an our in the morning to get a catch up....

My pain levels are bad but other than that, life is brilliant just now and fun is being had by all:)

The beaches are lovely and we've found two fab ones, each on opposite sides so that if the wind blows the wrong way, we go to the other, and vice versa.

I really am sending the strongest KICK ASS VIBES to you all for the WW and I'm hoping that you are ALL coping, the best way that you can it being the school hols for some still.....

Purps - I am so with you on that, routine is key, absolute key for Nemo and the holidays throw him out, and me and our days blend into each other...... I'm having a drink with dinner every night/other night, but really don't fancy more which is good because hols used to mean pissed. :)

Anyway - I need to go, I hope this posts as the internet is crap here, we're paying for something that we can't use!

Lots of love to you all, keep going the best you can Babes

dementedma · 20/08/2013 20:18

Hey indie how were the hols? Tell us all about it. Well I made it to day 3 and then cracked on day 4 after a shit day at work. Knew I should never have risked getting out of the sidecar...ah well, at least it gave my liver a few days off.

ThisIsMyTime · 20/08/2013 21:13

Just checking in at the end of day two feeling better than I did this morning hopefully day 3 will start off better than today weighed myself today n health kick starts now hope everyone is feeling strong tonight x

Anneisnotmyname · 20/08/2013 22:02

Hi just got in from work and quickly checking in before bed. Someone handed in £50 of the £70 I lost - I'm amazed and grateful to get even some of it back :)

I'm at the end of day 3 today but my real test will be thursday night. Last evening at work and I'll think 'the weekend starts here' and open a bottle of wine. Then I'll drink until I'm back at work so I've really got to be on my guard against this.

LRDPomogiMnyeSRabotoi · 20/08/2013 22:25

Hi babes, just heaving my arse back onto the bus yet again.

ma, I saw your good news about Richard upthread - sounds very positive, great to hear!

Will get into the swing of this properly tomorrow morning, but glad to be here.

Pink01 · 21/08/2013 07:16

How are we all? Welcome newcomers, good to have you.

Never mind Jengo every day is a new day. Ma, 3 days is an achievement so well done. Hope you are both ok this morning.

lonnika · 21/08/2013 08:53

Pimk - glad to have the boingy you back :)

babyjane1 · 21/08/2013 09:01

Morning babes, day 9 here, in very new territory here but feels a bit like a time bomb, the more time goes by, the pressure builds. A big hug to mouse insidemaMadame*Greenpink and purple and all the newbies. Finished the book, a bit cheesy but the message is clear, I found it hit very close to home. I still feel like waiting for life to bust out wonderful but I'm still struggling to cope with the stresses and monotony of day to day life but its the life I have so will keep on keeping on. Chin up tums in xxxxx

Greeneyed · 21/08/2013 09:15

Ha ha baby I must remember to do that, my posture is terrible and makes my belly look much bigger. Having huge norks I am conscious of jutting them out so I've always slumped forward.

Well done babe that's the problem isn't it - stopping drinking doesn't miraculously make everything better but it sure doesn't make things worse.

Ma 3 days is cracking, don't fall into the 'fuck it' I can't do it trap. 3 AF days a week would be awesome from none.

Feeling good today :) - keep on keeping on babes xx
