Will this become the live birth thread? Will Lodger 1 leave? Will waves be smiling throughout this thread?

Doula is on call, bags are packed, acrobat was a teeny 14 weeks foetus when I started posting - he is about to become DC3, I'll stop being sick and a whole new chapter will begin.

Omg! I'm just so bloody emotional at the moment.

I must have absorbed some of waves hormones via this Internet connection. Go on my darling, you are doing it. I'm so excited & can't wait to read update.

Sending you calm, soothing vibes. X

springytoto · 26/07/2013 22:13

don't know if Pete Tong is your sort of thing waves but his show is on Radio 1 right now and it's fab - quite hypnotic, good focusing music? wish someone would tell me what I'm listening to - house? garage? shed?

What would I have as my Desert Island/delivery tracks? Handel's Israel in Egypt: Thou in Thy Mercy (alto/tenor). Bach, how to choose? Cello suites, remind me of my boy. oo-er I've obviously not considered being famous (or having another baby - arf) - perhaps that's my next project, I'll give it a think ...

HOpe the battleaxe has buggered off by the time you get back there.

AlwaysWashing · 26/07/2013 22:15

De lurking to wish you millions of luck waves, you are fabulous (UMN hug)

Ezio · 26/07/2013 22:16

Im feeling so nervous and excited, its being an auntie all over again.

You can do it waves x

dramajustfollowsme · 26/07/2013 22:22

Ima chorister too! Think acrobat should arrive to Verdi's Gloria!
You are doing so well.
Faure's In Paradisium is my calming music. Hope your curry is good.

mistlethrush · 26/07/2013 22:30

You can't sing the Faure mid contraction though - it needs too much breath control to be so floating.

KiwiJude · 26/07/2013 22:32

Omigosh, Acrobat getting ready to meet the world, excitement plus! Much wringing of hands and pacing, no wonder they did send folk off to organise hot water and towels haha. Go waves! :)

Jux · 26/07/2013 22:42

I hope you really enjoyed the curry, waves. The Tallis piece is a favourite of mine too. (Brought up in the choral tradition too, sang in church from the age of 5 until I was well into my 30s; at one point I was a member of 5 choirs and singing every night of the week!).

Enjoy your music, waves. How I would love to hear you sing. Hope Acrobat's not long in coming now.

springytoto · 26/07/2013 22:43

Boils kettle

Paces

Jigs a bit to Pete Tong

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 22:46

About to have a warm bath. Contractions getting stronger but I'm just doing my breathing and zoning out through them. Then it ends and its like oh, hello world. My doula knew my dad well so we are looking through some of my photos of him Smile

I have massaged my tummy with some clary sage too.

Smiles for fellow choristers Smile I love in paradisium but often am called for to play it rather than sing it.

Now bath is running I am going to do some of these moving things to get acrobat into a non back to back position.

WingDefence · 26/07/2013 22:51

I've sung the Elijah, lovely stuff. Another chorister here (not child though). The most relaxing piece of classical I know is Spiegel Im Spiegel by Arvo Part. And breeeeeeathe... :)

BerylStreep · 26/07/2013 23:01

There's only enough room on this thread for about 110 more posts.

Come on Acrobat, before your Mummy has to start a new thread.

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 26/07/2013 23:12

You are awesome waves. C'mon acrobat!

Grin Thanks
DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 26/07/2013 23:22

Easy does it waves.

JsOtherHalf · 26/07/2013 23:27

Thinking of you, best of luck. X

Allalonenow · 26/07/2013 23:34
BoreOfWhabylon · 26/07/2013 23:35

Go waves!

themidwife · 26/07/2013 23:59

All rooting for you here!!!!

SuffragetteCity · 27/07/2013 00:21

Thinking of you and Acrobat, Waves! Really so excited for you - I hope all is going well!

wavesandsmiles · 27/07/2013 00:36

I'm rocking about on my patio, lovely and cool and quiet. Getting much more intense contractions. Another bath in half an hour on the agenda. My doula thinks I'm doing beautifully. Just breathing and rolling my hips. Visualising my body doing its thing.

Odd moment of disbelief hits. I'm actually having a baby. A real baby has grown in me and I'm going to bring him into the world soon. Weird that this strange disconnect happens.

On we go.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 27/07/2013 00:46

Well am off to bed can't stay awake but the night owls and S hemisphere crowd will keep you company.
Every good wish and can't wait to hear about your DC3.

Marmotte3 · 27/07/2013 00:48

I'm waiting for Acrobat to pop out, any minute now, I hope :)

I also echo everyone else here who says you are doing fantastically.

I'm surprised you can type 'n stuff while in active labour.

Wow!! You're amazing!

SlumberingDormouse · 27/07/2013 01:04

Another lurker and chorister here. I suddenly thought of Eric Whitaker's 'Lux Aurumque', which is very peaceful and about a newborn child (Jesus, to be precise!). It's worth a listen. Best of luck. You have some of the loveliest music ever written to help you!

tightfortime · 27/07/2013 01:10

I got asked to the pub. I went but part of me couldn't wait to get home and check in...

DP has gone to bed...alone!!!

I shall join him but wanted to send you hugs

[rolling hips]

Another viper auntie waiting for news, you rock girlie xx

Thumbwitch · 27/07/2013 01:24

Oooo Waves - nearly an hour since your last update!
Hope that's a good sign.
Another chorister here - so many of us! Grin
Hoping things really go well and quickly for you in the end - this has been such a protracted process for you, you need a bit of luck now. xx
