Will this become the live birth thread? Will Lodger 1 leave? Will waves be smiling throughout this thread?

Doula is on call, bags are packed, acrobat was a teeny 14 weeks foetus when I started posting - he is about to become DC3, I'll stop being sick and a whole new chapter will begin.

springytoto · 26/07/2013 20:59

I hope that, during your prep time with your doula, you taught her how to post on MN when you're busy. ok, that means she'll be busy too....

surely somebody can update??

Go, waves! Think of all the lovely food you will be able to enjoy!

Alwayskeptalidon · 26/07/2013 21:14

wonderful strong waves , waiting for news of this precious arrival.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 26/07/2013 21:15

waves is doing all the hard work - keeping everything Xed acrobat arrives easily. {tra la la finds stuff to do in the meantime}.

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 21:16

I've come home for a curry Smile its boring at hospital and the midwife who I really dislike is on so figured we'd be better off here whilst I am still calm enough. Hospital is 5 minutes drive away so will stay here as long as possible. No internal so can't update with gory cervical dimensions. Policy is you have to hang around for 2 hours after an internal and If I'm only 2 or 3 cm that's a lot of boredom.

Baby is still back to back so I am off to crawl around the grass!

Ooh, maybe you'll get that home birth after all waves?

Exciting stuff!

CaptChaos · 26/07/2013 21:27

I have just read through all 3 of your threads and am in AWE!

Good luck with your labour and birth, with such an amazing mother, Acrobat is going to be a wonderful little person.

Alwayskeptalidon · 26/07/2013 21:28

waves my first was back to back. "ouch" but so worth it.
If you do not feel comfortable with the midwife then ask for another. This is your special moment.

Lovethesea · 26/07/2013 21:29

You are incredible.

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 21:39

I've specifically asked that this midwife isn't involved, but she is around and it makes me a bit grrrrr. I formally complained about her months ago which obviously causes tension! However, I have been allocated another who is lovely and who I was discussing bump casts with a few weeks ago on one of my "HG day trips" - she had one done too.

My doula is collecting a curry, I doubt I'll manage much, but it seemed a fun thing to do. Really intense contractions, but managing to sing through some. Glad I worked out how to make a play list on my phone. I have a song special to my son (Lift Thine Eyes from Elijah) a song special to my daughter ( If Ye Love Me by Tallis), a couple of songs special in my heart for memories of dad (the original Narnia theme tune, and a song called If I had Words sung by Dana Winner from the film Babe - he liked the song because it is based on his fav piece of music, an organ piece by Saint Saens), and then some random bits I love, including Gassenhauer and Jesus Christ the Apple Tree, and No Holly for Miss Quinn by Enya. I was brought up singing as a chorister so have a bit of a thing for the English choral tradition of music!!!

That list is for delivery, I have a HUGE potential play list for the general labour process which I am going to start listening to again soon.

I told nice MW that baby's name at the moment is Acrobat and as he was twirling about when she listened in then palpated my tummy she said he certainly lives up to his name Grin

Thanks for the HUGE support winging its way over here. So many virtual birth partners!!!

mistlethrush · 26/07/2013 21:43

Still hoping all goes as swimmingly as possible

chocolatesolveseverything · 26/07/2013 21:46

Thinking of you waves and wishing you the very best of luck through labour. Come on Acrobat!!!

pinkbraces · 26/07/2013 21:50

Come on acrobat we want to say hello. Waves, I'm shaking my Pom poms as hard as I can. I hope you get the birth u want, then lots of gorgeous baby snuggles Smile

wordyBird · 26/07/2013 21:53

am quietly cheering you on .... :)

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 26/07/2013 21:59

I only have 2 DCs so no wealth of experience. Only one 'bad apple' and never saw her again. Bit like the bad fairy in Sleeping Beauty - prefer not to dwell on the negative! She turned out to have a bit of a reputation but every other midwife I ever met in pregnancy or not put her to shame.

BBMs · 26/07/2013 22:00

Omg! Omg! Nearly there!!
I'm so excited and I'm miles away... :) :)
Come on acrobat!!! We all want to see you :)
Happy thoughts, Waves.

DHtotalnob · 26/07/2013 22:03
