Will this become the live birth thread? Will Lodger 1 leave? Will waves be smiling throughout this thread?

Doula is on call, bags are packed, acrobat was a teeny 14 weeks foetus when I started posting - he is about to become DC3, I'll stop being sick and a whole new chapter will begin.

I do feel strange. Kind of like I am about to burst into laughter, or cry, or squeal..... or squeeze out a backflipping superstar?

I think you need to take a little time and time these contractions. Is your doula on standby? I might be tempted to call her and explain your spacey feelings. xx

Songbird · 26/07/2013 14:53

And fingers crossed about the lodger, she sounds great [what kind of shop is it? - shallow!]

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 14:56

It's a SHOE shop Grin

Just spoke to my doula who thinks it is an oxytocin rush. Or an emotional release after a really traumatic pregnancy. She is free in 20 minutes so I said I'd call back soon to update and she is happy to come round even just to help me sweep my patio and watch the little alive shrew who is running around the patio.

If clothes are hung up in wardrobe long enough the creases fall out anyway don't they. I iron - I'm a bit of a neat feel Blush but I know lots of people that don't and their clothes look no worse than mine. I am now thinking of all the hours and all the electricity I have wasted needlessly ironing y clothes. I wish I could say I would resolve to stop but I probably won't be able to! Anyway my point is that you are definitely not a slattern for not ironing, you are in fact very, very sensible.

I'm glad your doula is coming over. And that you have a lovely new lodger and 20% off shoes Envy

shiningcadence · 26/07/2013 15:08

I'm a neat freak not neat feel Grin

Songbird · 26/07/2013 15:12

Ooh shoes!!! Yes, it could be your body going 'right, calm the fuck down, because this is happening, and it's happening soon'. Same as the diarrhoea - I did a massive ploppy poo at the start of my active labour. I was so glad it was then and not when I was pushing! Try and rest up and drink plenty and have a bite to eat. You're not alone, this is a mumsnet baby Grin

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 26/07/2013 15:28

Nobody in our house irons but me so if it's hot or I'm feeling arthritic or there's a vowel in the month I do so grudgingly.

MissStrawberry · 26/07/2013 15:29

Today's the day!!

Thumbwitch · 26/07/2013 15:35

I LOVE the sound of your new lodger, especially the discount! Hope she works out better than the last one. :)

Woohoo to oxytocin rush - here we go!

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 15:42

Bless her, I was trying to unpack a mini fridge for her room between contractions and she just completely took over. Told me to go and have a rest. She has now gone for a walk and explore. Her company accommodated her for the first few days, in a stroke of coincidence in the nearest hotel to my house (2 minutes walk). She is glad to be settled here now though. Really nice girl who has done very well to get a job as store manager so soon after graduating.

I'm loving these contractions. I'm going to meet my acrobat soon Smile then I can post pictures of him here and share his name and let you all know what his nose looks like.

I'm about to start timing them and the frequency. It's funny, they start so low and come right up to my neck! Feels like I am being completely squeezed.

Wow Waves he's definitely coming, how fantastic!

Good luck, sending you calming happy vibes and all sorts of witchy business for an easy birth Grin

FoofFighter · 26/07/2013 15:49

When I get BH I can feel them first in my throat, thought I was the only person in the world that happened to but apparently not Waves!

So Envy of your shoe shop discount but you deserve it :)

ChasedByBees · 26/07/2013 15:51

I'm excited for you Waves! pom poms

tribpot · 26/07/2013 16:06

How fantastic that your new lodger is so calm faced with a landlady in labour. I'm sure if I were her I'd be thinking it was time to start boiling sheets and then running away in terror.

Glad that you're somehow feeling better, Waves - this has surely got to have been one of the most dreadful pregnancies on record but I know it will all be worth it in the end.

LiveItUp · 26/07/2013 16:26

Go Waves (we need a pom pom waving smiley). It's so lovely that you are so excited now too about him coming.

AgathaF · 26/07/2013 16:34

Oooh, just got back from holiday. I haven't been online for a week. What brilliant timing!!

Good luck waves and hurry up acrobat.

gertrudetrain · 26/07/2013 16:39

The browny/red stuff sounds like your mucus plug thingy, always a sure fire sign for me, fellow HG full termer. Oh waves, what are you going to devour first after giving birth. I went for a cream scone after DC3! I got v.fat after he just from the relief of being able to eat. Squeeeeee! Keep the updates coming. You have loads of us to birth announce to. Don't skimp on the gory details either, love it.

MinnieBar · 26/07/2013 16:53

Deffo sounds plug-like to my mind too! If memory serves, you might get a LOT more (but I guess it depends on how big it was to begin with).

So how far apart are your contractions??

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 16:54

Not much gory stuff to report but I've had a few attacks of giggles, whilst contracting Confused patio looks immaculate and the pool is nearly re filled. Have done the washing up and the contractions are seemingly much more regular and stronger now.

Waves Aibu to ask acrobat to get a move on as I am going away this weekend and will have no Internet access!? :)
Thinking of you x

wrathnurser · 26/07/2013 17:07

De-lurking to wish you good luck and really hope you don't have too much longer to wait to meet your lovely little acrobat Smile

shiningcadence · 26/07/2013 17:07

I can't believe you are cleaning the patio and washing dishes whilst in labour Grin Love it!

I guess it is best to be doing things to take your mind off the pain. But don't do too much! :)

BBMs · 26/07/2013 17:07

Wow! That's all I can say... You are doing amazingly!!!
Hope today is the day you finally get to have little acrobat in your arms :)
God luck, Waves!! Sending you the best vibes :)

BerylStreep · 26/07/2013 17:13

OMG Waves, you are nearly there! Are you going to hospital or going to try to do it at home?

PS I have a bit of gloss work that needs doing if you have a moment?

muddybloodypuddles · 26/07/2013 17:16

Good luck Waves!!! So glad the time has finally come Grin
