Will this become the live birth thread? Will Lodger 1 leave? Will waves be smiling throughout this thread?

Doula is on call, bags are packed, acrobat was a teeny 14 weeks foetus when I started posting - he is about to become DC3, I'll stop being sick and a whole new chapter will begin.

Come on Acrobat! Grin

I am half way through making ice cream. Which will come first Baby or Ice cream?? Grin.

ScarletWomanoftheVillage · 26/07/2013 11:08

Hey, Waves, seems like today might be the day, wishing you well and a good birth for acrobat Thanks

Glad you've ignored his text, he can just fuck right off! Out of line, eh? He's been out of line all the way along Angry

KalevalaForMePlease · 26/07/2013 11:08

Yippee I haven't missed it! Come on waves, you can do it! Sending positive vibes your way ThanksThanksThanks

LucyTheValiant · 26/07/2013 11:27

I'm glad your new lodger seems nice. That's a load off your mind at least.

Hoping today is the day for Acrobat!

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 12:58

Only in pregnancy/childbirth/post delivery days and weeks is it remotely ok to share this kind of info BUT

(1)Have had diarrhoea all morning after months and months of constipation due to the ondansetron I've been on for HG
(2) Brownish/reddish discharge
(3) Either my waters are trickling or I also have a massive increase in watery discharge as well as the coloured stuff.

I am taking these as positive signs. Just need to remember that I am filling the pool back up so if I have to go anywhere fast, must turn the tap off!

Contractions still fairly erratic but lasting longer when they come, and definitely stronger. No persistent back ache, so hoping acrobat has done a final acrobatic twirl Smile

Only been sick twice today - hurrah!

Mentally trying to sweep all the unimportant jobs away. Acrobat is allowed to be born now - and don't want my busy brain slowing things down.

(Still shuddering a little after the shrew incident)

Here's hoping this is it for you Waves. All the best :)

MissStrawberry · 26/07/2013 13:10

It sounds like things are starting. Just be prepared for everything happening really quickly once they properly get going as I think they might after this long build up.

I dilated 0-10 in 3 hours and pushed baby out in 20 minutes with DC2. With DC3 it was 3 hours again and 7 minutes of pushing.

shiningcadence · 26/07/2013 13:11

I am also still shuddering at the shrew incident Grin

I'm so glad your back pain has eased and I'm crossing my fingers that acrobat has move to a better position.

I don't know much about labour (my 3 were c sections) but might it be worth ringing the midwife to make sure the red discharge etc is normal?

wordyBird · 26/07/2013 13:13

well, if you were my RL friend I'd be driving you to hospital ..

shiningcadence · 26/07/2013 13:15

In fact I seem to recall that brown fluid could be a sign of meconium? Sorry waves don't want to worry you unnecessarily but it might be worth checking out.

LiveItUp · 26/07/2013 13:18

Ooh - sounds like it this time! Hurray that your head is allowing this now too!!! Will be thinking of you and getting nothing else achieved as I keep checking how you are

I've just put a banana and walnut loaf into the oven - which will come out first - Acrobat or banana loaf Grin

themidwife · 26/07/2013 13:19

Do you mean brownish reddish mucousy discharge or do you mean brown watery loss that soaks through a pad?

SpicedGingerTea · 26/07/2013 13:19

Hello waves, I had brown liquid and it was in fact meconium. So I'd get it checked out.

Thinking of you, how exciting! Smile

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 13:24

The brownish stuff is not watery, more like the tail end of a period? So pretty sure it's not meconium in waters but will check regularly. As the watery stuff is definitely clear. Or was before.

I have put a pad in so my knickers are not sticky and gross!!! (Waves doesn't want MN to think she is a total slattern, rarely ever ironing is bad enough Blush).

oldwomaninashoe · 26/07/2013 13:41

Waves, after having a sinilar discharge (with DS2 ) in the morning, I gave birth that evening. I think today could be the day!!!!

Allalonenow · 26/07/2013 13:42

Sounds as though Acrobat is on his way, waves. How frequent are your contractions, are they getting stronger or closer together?

shiningcadence · 26/07/2013 13:51

No one could ever accuse you of being a slattern waves! Grin

vole3 · 26/07/2013 13:55

Ditto Oldwomaninashoe.

I actually did my ironing to keep upright in the hope it kicked things off and it did. Went for a lovely long walk at the beach in Southwold. Not so impressed that now xh decided to do some wine tasting at the Adnams shop Hmm

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 14:00

I'm keeping a bit too busy with dividing squabbling children, stopping animals chasing shrews, refilling a pool, lunch prep, and sorting out new lodger to particularly time contractions, but I reckon they are lasting around a minute now. And stronger most of the time.

Shining My big test for the school uniform when I got the vouchers to try it out, was whether it needed ironing after being line dried. I posted merrily that it did not, hooray, then saw other comments about how much time it took to iron the polo shirts Blush I don't ever send my DCs out looking completely pressed, just attempt to avoid the totally crumpled look. And I haven't hoovered my bedroom for a few weeks months but my excuse is that I am the only one in there, apart from the DCs, the hoover is heavy, and I am determinedly believing that the cleaning fairy is going to visit whilst I am giving birth and when I come back it will magically be done Smile So I think I something of a slattern really. But like my knickers clean nonetheless Grin

Thanks for everyone supporting me. I think Acrobat won't take too too long now to meet his world.

MNers refreshing this thread and cheering you on. On tenterhooks waves must surely be nearly here now.

Thumbwitch · 26/07/2013 14:23

Still got everything crossed for you that Acrobat turns up VERY soon now, Waves.

As an aside - I have yet to iron any of DS1's school uniform (polo shirts here too) and he's halfway through his kindergarten year. Everything gets hung up to dry here too - so it's pretty flat. I loathe ironing so don't tend to buy anything that needs it - and DS1 always looks clean and neat, if not completely crease-free, so I care not. Grin
Vacuuming in pg is bad for you anyway. Wink

Songbird · 26/07/2013 14:40

Ooh things are definitely moving! If it's like the tail end of a period, is it the 'show' do we think? DD was induced and the midwife 'found' my show when I was stretched and sweeped (swept?) and had to break my waters with the crochet hook jobby, so haven't experienced either 'naturally'.

Songbird · 26/07/2013 14:40

Oof just noticed all my quotation marks - I'm not a finger quotes wanker, honest I'm not!

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 14:45

Thanks for the ironing and vacuuming reassurance thumbwitch Smile

I'm feeling really ODD now - kind of spaced out and bubbly inside. Want to sweep the patio but not sure if I will or not. It's a funny/weird feeling.

Thinking a lot about my cervix and wondering how much work my body has been doing the past few days in particular.

I might go and suck an icecube in the garden.

New lodger very lovely, and very understanding about the me being in labour thing. She has come to manage a shop, and has said I can get a 25% discount there on account of that. Very great. I did a new style lodger agreement, with inventory, and attached house rules. I have a good feeling about her.

I do feel strange. Kind of like I am about to burst into laughter, or cry, or squeal. And my head doesn't quite feel here.

I'm going to read this post back in a few days and be very Confused aren't I.

Apologies for weird ramblings.
