Will this become the live birth thread? Will Lodger 1 leave? Will waves be smiling throughout this thread?

Doula is on call, bags are packed, acrobat was a teeny 14 weeks foetus when I started posting - he is about to become DC3, I'll stop being sick and a whole new chapter will begin.

Sending more speedy labour vibes waves, visualising you with that little boy all wrapped up in your arms, safe and sound. Wishing you some rest tonight and hoping the 'home straight' starts after you've had some recuperation. Take care.Smile

saffronwblue · 26/07/2013 01:02

Not long till you are cuddling your little boy, Waves.

BerylStreep · 26/07/2013 01:26

Just checking in - hope you are fast asleep.

sadwidow28 · 26/07/2013 02:57

Waves, I don't know how people know that they don't live near you.

I am NW - so if I can help with child-care (days out for the two eldest DCs) whilst you recover and bond with acrobat, I am happy to help. The DCs would have to be happy to be with my border collie dog though as I don't go anywhere without him (he is my family!)

He is calm and submissive, and simply marvellous with children - he knows how to play 'tig' and 'hide and seek'. But he also herds his children and counts them. When he has counted them once - he starts again!

I am useless at PMs (I read every day without logging in) so if you PM me - say that I have a PM.

I am CRB checked (teacher).

TimidLivid · 26/07/2013 03:43

I think she lives in jersey or guernsey or something an island in the channel , we all wish we could help waves is amazing

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 06:32

I am indeed an islander of the southern variety.... Lovely place but can seem isolating at times, and why the support on this thread has been so amazingly useful.

Slept well thanks to codeine. Have woken up to strong but relatively short lasting contractions. And a dead shrew in the house. I shall deal with that when I get a little break from these, and don't feel like acrobat is about to fall out of me!

PyroclasticFlo · 26/07/2013 06:36

Keep on with the reflexology points Waves, and PLEASE don't contact Twunt, it only opens you up to more hurt. Sad

As others have said, if you feel the urge to contact him please come on here and one of us will talk you down!

Good luck today, will be thinking of you x

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 26/07/2013 07:23

Waves. I'm halfwayish to holiday home. I've done a couple hours driving. PM me if you feel need to contact twunt. I'm just scoffing breakfast & checking on you.

Stay positive my lovely. EnvyBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewThanks

MissStrawberry · 26/07/2013 07:44

Who's Twunt? Wink

No, never heard of him. Must be a nonentity.

Thinking of you Waves and hope more progress is made today.

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 07:56

He texted me this morning saying he was "maybe out of line last night so if I think he was then he apologises"

Am ignoring and focussing on breathing through contractions and contemplating what jobs I can actually get done today.

Didn't mention it, but reason I insisted on leaving hospital on Wednesday when I did was that I had a play date arranged for DD as her best friend leaves to live abroad today. I couldn't let the two of them down, and they are both so sweet and well behaved. I just sort of let them get on with crafty playing and in any case my doula friend came round for the second half. Was quite hard work trying to be a smiley happy mummy whilst in so much pain but I managed. They have swapped addresses and are very excited about becoming pen pals.

I have a new lodger moving in today, lovely girl from near Glasgow (Cumbernauld I think) who just came over here on Monday. We had spoken on the phone a few times and I've met her twice now since she arrived. I also got a glowing reference Smile I have made the bed up, and just need to type out a better lodger agreement than what I had before and type out house rules to avoid a repeat of the lodger one situation.

In terms of the dead shrew, I've now covered the body with a piece of kitchen roll and am not sure what to do next.

Contractions more regular now.....

OP posts:
themidwife · 26/07/2013 07:59

Oh please ignore him " IF you think so I will apologise"!! FFS!

Time to put yourself first now Waves - make a mental window to have this baby. No more playdate arrangements, or gigs, or meetings. Write HAVE THE BABY across the next few days of your diary! Smile

MissStrawberry · 26/07/2013 08:02

Don't open any more texts from the prick. He isn't sorry. He just wants any excuse to taint this happy time with a new baby coming. He really is the most disgusting man.

Is there a neighbour who can dispose of the shrew for you? Or ask the postman when he comes!

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 08:09

I just sorted the shrew. Got my dustpan and brush. Unfortunately the shrew rolled out of the dustpan onto my foot and I yelled so loud I expect the neighbours all think I just gave birth. Urgh.

It is now in the bin in a carrier bag . I'm about to rinse and scrub my foot. The joy of having a cat Confused

And I will do my best to not open any other texts from twunt.

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 08:44

Just made myself laugh... Was texting a friend who has offered to help look after the DCs and said they are having so much fun being sent to other people with exciting activities and meals out which beats being at home with a skint and pregnant mum. Only my phone autocorrected skint to slimy.... She says she hopes that I am slimy soon as a result of actually delivering this baby Blush

My DCs were very amused at the idea of having a slimy mummy Grin

Still having contractions... Come on Acrobat

OP posts:
themidwife · 26/07/2013 08:44

Yikes!! I'd scream too! GrinGrinGrin

PyroclasticFlo · 26/07/2013 09:08

Keep breathing lovely, you can do it!

Jux · 26/07/2013 09:49

Waves, you're a bloody hero, you are. Sending love and good vibes. xx Thanks

themidwife · 26/07/2013 09:54

You are a legend!! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Orianne · 26/07/2013 09:59

Oh Waves, I think I'd rather give birth than have a shrew land on my foot! Sending you positive vibes x

springytoto · 26/07/2013 10:16

You sound so much calmer waves - good old codeine Grin

Plus the hospital seem to have patched you up and got you on a surer footing. Wonderful.

Today's the day, I think? It's a beautifully sunny day here, not too hot - hope it's the same your way - good giving birth weather Smile

LiveItUp · 26/07/2013 10:18

COME ON ACROBAT !!!! Hoping today is the day for you, especially as you slept well and are sounding strong. To second Midwife, give yourself permission to have this baby today, rather than putting it off mentally until your next "suitable" window. xx

vole3 · 26/07/2013 10:40

My cats have also been diminishing the local shrew population this week. Adds to the pigeon of last weekend.....

WingDefence · 26/07/2013 10:45

Oh come ON Acrobat!! Anyone would think he didn't know a load of MN vipers were desperate for him to arrive for his lovely mum's sake!

Has the vomiting slowed down as you get nearer the end, waves?

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 26/07/2013 10:46

Friday and the weekend beckons - we are all agog come on Acrobat don't dawdle.

Slimy only fits one person we're not talking about.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 26/07/2013 10:49

Hope new lodger is a goodie she will be a long way from home so a homely atmosphere will be a comfort (as long as you don't clear up after her).
