Will this become the live birth thread? Will Lodger 1 leave? Will waves be smiling throughout this thread?

Doula is on call, bags are packed, acrobat was a teeny 14 weeks foetus when I started posting - he is about to become DC3, I'll stop being sick and a whole new chapter will begin.

Oh waves you poor thing.

I am glad they're asking you to hang on - I know you'd prob rather be at home but there they can keep an eye on everything.

Lots of love and hugs

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 25/07/2013 16:42

waves nothing to add but sending you positive vibes (dippy hippy at heart) the staff will be monitoring you and let your doula speak up for you: 'conserve energy' Flowers

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 25/07/2013 17:00

hi waves, pleased that you are on some codeine for pain. Hospital is right place at moment. Induction isnt a bad thing, I was for both of my two - they were just too comfy!

DD was a breeze... well lets say a tornado but over and done in a jiffy compared to DS. Wink

Im here, rooting for you and acrobat and I will take all tech that I can on hols to check on you all.

Today is 3 of my friends' birthdays, its a good day today, its a good day tomorrow and its lovely on Saturday too, Sunday will be ok too.

OUT Acrobat!

Really hoping it's nothing else underlying going on as well and "just" latent labour x

PyroclasticFlo · 25/07/2013 18:34

Waves you poor thing.

Have you ever been shown the reflexology points that can help get things moving in labour? On both the inside and outside edges of your foot imagine a diagonal line from the knobbly bit of your ankle bone to the base of your heel, and about halfway along it (about 3cm below and back from ankle bone) is the point you need to massage - put your first two fingers on the point and move them in a circle. (These are roughly the uterus and ovary points)

It should be mildly uncomfortable but not agony.

Then again compared to everything else you're feeling 'agony' is probably relative!

Hope it helps - at the very least helps you feel you're doing something to speed Acrobat on his way.

Huge hugs to you xx

themidwife · 25/07/2013 18:45

Hope you're ok. I'm sure they're doing lots of tests. Drink as much as possible if you can to flush your kidneys through. Are you staying in?

wavesandsmiles · 25/07/2013 19:39

I'm just home. I have some codeine so will hopefully sleep tonight. Stupidly been in touch with twunt and his total lack of care staggers me still. I just feel so alone in the pain and need a loving presence here to rub my back and hold me. But he is out with his mate.

Its my own fault for re engaging. For hoping. Just acutely aware that acrobats arrival is also going to herald court proceedings re access and maintenance. And it won't be remotely pleasant.

I need to rebury these boxes and try the reflexology.

The plan as regards hospital, since they can find no cause for the pain other than latent labour, is for me to brave it out til Monday when they will do a sweep. Just feeling tired and lost and alone and worried.

auntpetunia · 25/07/2013 19:45

Oh waves, anyone but him! What about one of your lovely rl friends, even your nice lodgers?

?don't worry about court or access or maintenance no one is going to give an arsewipe like him access for the first few months as acrobat needs his mum tonnes more than his sperm donor!

Hope the coedine works and you get some rest. X

MissStrawberry · 25/07/2013 20:06

Well he isn't going to be a loving presence and never was.

Talk to us if you feel the need to contact him. You feel chit so you text him but that will pass. You don't want to have any regrets when it comes to him and you will if you keep contacting him when you know he is going to let you down again. I KNOW it is hard, but please, lovely, stop doing it to yourself.

themidwife · 25/07/2013 20:11

I wish I was nearer - I'd rub your back all night happily!!
He's a total cunt. There I've said it! AngryAngryAngry

Ezio · 25/07/2013 20:29

Waves, if i was closer, i'd be there with DD, to take care of you, i'd happily be your friend, counsellor and servant, while you getting acrobat out and after.

shiningcadence · 25/07/2013 20:39

I would be there too if I was closer waves. Hope you're able to get some rest and sleep tonight Flowers

Waves - am off on hols tomorrow, so won't be updated until next weekend Sad

Really hope you feel supported, uplifted and secure in the next few days. Sorry acrobat didn't out in an appearance before - and hope it all goes well.

Twunt is never going to be there for you. Or for your baby.

Good luck.

dramajustfollowsme · 25/07/2013 21:31

If you can last to monday, that is my birthday! Although, you sound in so much pain and tired that I can barely believe they will leave you that long.

Sending you a virtual back rub.

wavesandsmiles · 25/07/2013 22:13

Right, have taken my petite but powerful codeine tablet and now ready to sleep. DCs had the best day, body boarding, lunch out, and playing with friends (my doula and her children) so they are completely sound asleep.

I am annoyed with the hospital protocol re even stretch and sweep, given my illness and now this hideous latent phase. There seems to be no concern for maternal health at all, and acrobat is a good size and healthy. I'm not going to let it upset me though, I need to save my energy for his arrival.

Hoping to have a quiet day at home with my DCs tomorrow. Just do some baking with what we have in the cupboards, and let them get to work on their entrepreneurial idea of setting up a stall to sell stuff outside our house. They have been really understanding that I have to reduce pocket money following my redundancy, so are going to sell unwanted toys and books, and make some decorated pebbles. I'm quite proud of their attitude, especially as I only started giving them pocket money in April.

Happy holidays to all those taking off in the next day or so, hoping you have wonderful times. If any of you ever need tips on a UK ish holiday which is sort of overseas then I can recommend a lovely island to visit Wink

Vibes for either a massively quick active labour and delivery or a really good night's sleep please.

I Bloody love codeine :)
Hope,you have a peaceful night x

SpicedGingerTea · 25/07/2013 22:20

Waves I've followed your story from the beginning, and am cheering you on from the sidelines.

My STBXH left last year, I faced pregnancy alone and had my gorgeous DS in April.

I've been through so much shit with my ex, but every time I look at DS he's worth it.

Wishing you a safe and hopefully quick labour. x

shiningcadence · 25/07/2013 22:22

Sending those vibes you asked for waves :)

LiveItUp · 25/07/2013 22:27

Also sending those much needed vibes.

If all else fails, there's always the sunroof option. I had to go this route with DC1 in a bit of a hurry as he certainly wasn't coming out the standard route! I ended up having the others also by caesarean , and I have a wonderful "smile" scar from where they all appeared. Very un-MN to admit to that Blush, but I don't regret any of them.

Allalonenow · 25/07/2013 22:27

Hope you have a calm and restful night waves, sweet dreams.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 25/07/2013 22:44

Sweet dreams waves serene and tranquil.
However acrobat arrives he's a lucky child to have you as his mama.

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 25/07/2013 22:47

night all, sleep well waves. I will check in tomorrow sometime!
