I was working as a barmaid after dropping out of Uni, met him on my first shift.

We chatted lots over the next few weeks, I eventually asked him out, he said no - believe it or not I did this twice more, he finally said yes, I moved in to his vile bedsit within 6 weeks, we have been together 13 year now, married for 8 and have two beautiful boys. Bet he wishes he'd stuck to his original answer now

fisil · 22/07/2006 19:43

He had a personal ad in a magazine I never read but a friend bought it cos she thought she might find a job in it. Met two weeks later and that was that.

southeastastra · 22/07/2006 19:58

eenywifemum · 22/07/2006 20:05

we met over the internet!! after talking on line for months we progressed to phone, then I came over here to meet him in person, we got enganged, he visited me in the states, then I moved over and we got married!! That was 5 and a half years ago & lots of people thought it wouldnt last a month!

fisil · 22/07/2006 20:06

It was a bit unusual SEAstra, so people might recognise me (we've never kept it secret how we met cos we're proud about it) ... but I'm drinking wine and dealing with vomiting children, so what the hell ...

"Man, 27, resembles Pooh Bear in figure and optimist outlook. A socialist acquiring a taste for champagne. Seeks a bright, petite woman who drinks pints. Ldn area."

I was the only one to reply, and it is the only ad I ever replied to! But it was perfect for me, and described him beautifully.

southeastastra · 22/07/2006 20:14

oh i know you!! (only joking)

ahh that's quite a sweet message

fairyfly · 22/07/2006 20:19

I worked in Casualty at the time and pulled a hamster out of his anus. Gave him a lift home at the end of my shift and we have been together ever since.

all4girlz · 22/07/2006 21:22

in the pub that my then boyfriend's sister worked behind the bar fate

ilovecaboose · 23/07/2006 20:52

At school, but took us till 6th form to have any kind of conversation (b4 that he was just that really annoying kid).

Moved in together as soon as we left school (into a shared house with friends). He proposed a yr later (though we still haven't got married). HAve been together 6 1/2 years now and have a 21 month old ds. And he still adores me

bubblez · 23/07/2006 20:58

At his cousin's (my school friend) daughter's christening. Where he proceeded to get drunk (because of a cruel prank being played on him) and profess his attraction to me in a streem of slurs and stumbles. How could I resist?!?!?

schneebly · 23/07/2006 21:00

Initially in Tesco but we didn't get to know each other until he employed by brother and then came to my house to help my brother to connect his PC to the internet.
