He was my boyfriends best friend! But once I split up with bf kept in touch with him.

Stayed friend for a further 4 years then I went travelling for a year and when I returned he propositioned me! Been together 5 years married for 2.

bettythebuilder · 02/06/2006 10:59

We were match-made!

A girl I shared a house with worked with dh, so introduced us at an 'airport people' party.

We were engaged after 6 months and married a year after that - 8th anniversary this year, so our friend was right!

intergalacticwalrus · 02/06/2006 11:35

I worked with him for about 6 months before we spoke. We met properly at a work night out at Bath races. I got horribly drunk, he got horribly drunk. Neither of us actually saw a single horse, and the rest, as they say, is history. He's the longest 1 night stand I've ever had, I have to say!!!!!!!! Grin

PinkTulips · 02/06/2006 13:00

my house.

he was there to drop something off for my housemate and it was love at first sight but neither of us said anything. met him a couple of weeks later in a club and spent all night chatting to him, swapped numbers but i had my phone stolen that night. we both thought the other wasn't interested but the next time he came to the house we spent all night talking, went to an early bar to play pool after being up all night and ended up in each others arms and going back to mine, even though we were both technically 'with' other people!

i was supposed to go to portuagal to work for the summer 2 weeks later, went, lasted 2 weeeks without him and came home, have been living with him since, that was 4 years ago and we're expecting baby no.2 in 2 months Grin

SoreenLoaf · 02/06/2006 13:02

hatwoman, are you me? Mine runs exactly as yours, with the addition of a minority sport bonding experience, and his jealous friend who wanted me to go out with him instead and has only just forgiven us.

'university. knew him a bit for 2 years and fancied him from afar. then somehow it all came together. there was a certain inevitability about it. One of those situations where you find all your other friends have buggered off, just leaving the two of you, and you suspect they did it deliberately'

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 02/06/2006 16:23

amyjo - very romantic

MrsRecycle · 02/06/2006 16:35

Skibble - snap (apart from his brother was 10 years younger than me). Terrible isn't it? Mind you we've been together 10 years so I made the right choice Grin

kate100 · 02/06/2006 17:00

Our best frieds went out for 5 years, when thet split up we got together. They were our best man and bridesmaid. It was a bit awkward at the wedding Wink

LotosEater · 02/06/2006 17:02

very boringly we met at work - along with 50% of the population apparently

Mercy · 02/06/2006 17:28

wow amyjo, that's amazing!

Piffle · 02/06/2006 17:35

Dp was recommended by a friend.
she had met him at a party, she met me at another party and gave me his number, said, I think you will love him and I know he will love you.
All true :)

Kidstrack · 02/06/2006 17:44

both on holiday with parents age 14, met in Brittany in France

AttilaTheMeerkat · 02/06/2006 18:21

On a blind date during my lunch hour when I worked in the City.

We were married 18 months later!Grin

Smurfgirl · 02/06/2006 18:31

We lived together in uni halls, ended up reluctantly sharing a house with him (and 2 other gay mates!) in my 2nd year because had not one else to live with. Didn't really like him, but did slowly mold him into someone a bit nicer!

We started to get closer in the 3rd year and then I started fancing him. After much faffing we got together in the May, engaged a year later Smile we are getting married in 2 years!

marbeth · 02/06/2006 18:46

Ladytopham of hattingford

At work. July 2001 - Him in accounts, me in sales. Him - love at first sight (so he likes to tell me). Me - with someone at that point (evil xp). Forward onto Feb 2002 - Bump into him in Kitchen (only know him at this point as scary Accounts bloke - he's 6 ft 4, 18 stone, shaven haired and tattooed!) see he has nicer coffee than me and cheekily ask him to make me a cup! I dump xp after he throws me across my mother's kitchen. 3 weeks later Blush am living with DP having moved in ostensibly to look after him after a leg op

4 1/2 years later, his leg is better and our first baby is due in November!

LadyTophamHatt · 02/06/2006 19:54

marbeth, we met there in 1995.
I wonder if it's still there?
