A huge big welcome to the Brave Babes threads.

We're a varied group of posters, on this wonderfully supportive, non judgemental, gigantic Bus, and we are all heading in the same direction - towards Sobriety.

Some of us don't touch a drop of alcohol, some of us do. Some of us drink too much, openly admit it and are desperate to stop and some of us are trying to manage controlled drinking.

No matter what we're doing, we're just trying to do it One Day At A Time.

What ever you need, what ever your habit, chances are that there'll be another poster who is just like you or has been where you are now, already here, waiting to talk or just listen :)

Yes, some of us have been here for a longer time than others, some of us for just a few days but that's what makes this Bus so great imo, the variety of knowledge and understanding :)

This Bus has been whizzing along various roads now for almost four years thanks to the very desperate cry for help from THIS THREAD BY JWN

3: Prize for most vile sweet flavour ever brought into my house belongs to my DH..... His work colleague brings sweets back from the Philipenes (sp?), flavours include apple, watermelon, peach, grape and..... sweetcorn!!!!! Seriously, sweetcorn - wtaf?! He did blind tasting with the DC - both almost vommed into the kitchen bin!!! Tbf, all were vile....

Anyway, hi all . Have funny anecdote about vit b and luminous wee, and how learning crochet occupies both hands and brain space.....

Morning! Yes Faire - I'll join you in 'forge ahead friday' . I need to gear myself up for next week when DS has his taster days at secondary school. He's a bit of a space cadet so the prospect of him making his way across town on a bus on his own would normally be sending me to the bottle - so I need to stay strong!

Thank you everyone! Percy Pigs, you either love them or hate them but the fizzy ones are the best!

Very nervous but I am inspired by the achievements of everyone else on the bus. Scared too as Friday evenings are the worst for me. Still I have a fancy dress costume to make for DS to keep me occupied - it is going to be the best one ever if it means I spend hours making it and keeping myself distracted!

Hi Everyone, I posted on here last year for a time when I was going through the breakup of my relationship. Largely due to my drinking. Since then things have gotten worse for me and I am drinking maybe 1-2 bottles of wine a night. Work is suffering, college is suffering and my little girl is suffering. I feel so low and I want to make changes. Didn't drink last night and I'm going to try for a sober weekend. Im just so afraid of having this problem. I feel so alone. I think everyone knows but I don't feel like I can talk to anyone about it.

Hi guys, I'm in the sidecar at the moment as a lot of things are happening. Hopefully, I'll have some good news to tell you about in the next few weeks, but in the meantime hugs to all and I'll be back in the bus very soon.

I think we all know how you are feeling ((hug)). Koala You are an amazing babe!! I keep hearing the tune to 'The Great Escape' in my head!! Through the tunnel and out the other side, you are an inspiration. Isinde you're right lovely, it is pronounced Nooogarrr here, it's in everything, even ice-cream which is really evil, cos it sticks your teeth together when they are too cold iyswim and you get the horrible cold headache Anyhoo, all the talk of Percy Pigs makes me think of those bitter lemon fizzy fish, which makes me think of M&S, and takeaways and (sniff) going to the cinema and .. and .. Thanks everyone, I didnt think I could feel any worse than last year and I suppose emotionally Im a bit more stable but thats only because Im constantly numbing how I feel with booze. I just want to stop this once and for all. Im a smart person - I know what alcoholism involves and its not what I want for myself or my daughter. I'm just so scared of failing its made me almost not want to try. I just want the problem to go away and to never have to think about drinking or hangovers or embarrassment or shame or guilt ever ever again.
